Billy yer a legend pal,i really bet he never thought he would have made it,as big a stand up,and music artist, as he is.the big will allways be in the Glasgow memories for ever,👍👍👍👍👍🏴🏴
I,m an Aussie and when i first heard this i was half asleep in bed,i laughed so much i couldn,t get back to sleep. Its so true especialy amongst surfers when the shark alarm goes off they stay in the water, now i know why, sharks eat one person at a time Brilliant
I was staying with friends in Southern Queensland, and their land is a small forest. One day their dog was trying to grab hold of a brown Taipan, but was moved away by Greg. Before my visit, I thought that there were poisonous creatures lurking, waiting to bite you. Leaping out of bushes and snakes slithering after you I never saw one in the month I was there. I realised that in September the snakes were in hibernation, so I was alright and having two Queenslanders as my guests allayed my fears. There are no poisenous creatures in the UK, apart from the rarely seen Blackadder. It's bite can make you feel ill, but that's all. I travelled with Greg and Marilyn to Palm Cove in Northern Queensland and wants to have my first swim in the Pacific. There was, however, a sign that said " BEWARE Stingers and Sharks, so that was that. I spoke to a local who said that he had never been in the sea. It looked so blue and inviting too. It was a great holiday nonetheless and I saw some wonderful sights and travelled a lot. I flew down to Sydney for my final week. I spent every day by Circular Quay and Darling Harbour. The Opera House was fabulous. I was lucky in that the fleet review was in Darling Harbour. I also saw the fabulous aquarium with beautiful multicoloured fish. I saw some ofc the reef as well. It was my trip if a lifetime and I would love revisit your beautiful country and see my friends again. Greg us from Brisbane, and Marilyn is a countrywoman from Queensland. Their beautiful Queenslander home, with varandas is fabulous. Every night I heard these insects rubbing their legs together. There were hundreds of them. It started after sundown and lasted about half an hour. I think they are Sicoia. One of the most unusual and unique experiences, was being in a vehicle driving along the beach on Fraser Island. I was amazed that it was a public road with traffic lights and speed restrictions. Police were visible and quite often helping a vehicle that got stuck in the sand. I took 800 photos and film which I sometimes look at, but the memory of that trip in 2013 is still vivid.
It is a great routine and covers what being Australian is like. It's true he did look like a Smurf but at least he had our sun to get a tan and look white. lol
Hes the best. When u have guys that talk him up so much like Robbin Williams and such other great comedyans its just amazing.Hes been doing it for longer than anyone I know out there right now.
Unbelievable handsome guy, at every age, great humor and the king of forgiveness (you should watch the umm... Stroumbopolopol....- interview). And I love his voice so much. Lucky Pamela.
I remember watching this Comic Relief live on BBC1 that day. The whole afternoon with Terry Wogan and lots of celebs doing silly, comfy, clean, entertaining stuff.. and then came the watershed at 9pm came, we were switched to the Shaftesbury Theatre and this Legend came on stage. I know this routine word for word. It actually misses out the first minute or so, when Billy came on and mouthed into a supposedly non-working mic...
Billy is simply the best and came out of Scotland god bless Scotland and thanks Billy for making me laugh again taking my mind off the bad part of my life
Reading today how blue-ringers have started appearing just down the coast from me, so I came back to watch this legendary performance yet again. "And it showed you THIS bastard!" 😂😂😂 Seen him, oh...fourteen times over the years and met him on a few of those occasions. An honorary Aussie. The funniest human being I've ever witnessed.
The might be The Greatest Stan-Up Segment of all time!! i've heard several of these jokes before & since, but THIS, right then, on that stage - that was an "On" day for sure...
Actually. I am a Billy Connolly fan. I went to the states ten years ago. I became acquainted with George Carlin's material. They did share a lot of stuff. Different style but very funny.
Billy is not a comedian he us the most brilliant story teller ever It's all of the cuff. No script. He is a national treasure I love him I am Scottish too.but live Australia now.
Reply to andy666atreus: It's from the very first comic relief. I've done a quick search for a retail copy but the only place I found it was second hand on ebay. The full title is "comic relief utterly utterly rude video live". (VHS tape, afaik never released on DVD).
Dylan Moran is a derivative comic, and he has been quoted saying: "the reason I am a derivative comic, is that all of the people in my form of comedy have derived it from Billy Connolly" ...
My ain wee daddy had a similar reaction was he was stationed in Singapore in the late 1950s. He said he'd never swum so fast when he saw fins cutting the surface of the water. Dolphins. He was young and English and a long way from home.
on the cover it says "THE YOUNG ONES BILLY CONNOLLY & ROWAN ATKINSON LIVE & UNCENSORED it's COMIC RELIEF" its a video distrubited by Virgin and it was for OXFAM and SAVE THE CHILDREN FUND
yep we get bored enough to piss off local wild life, all part of growin up here in aussie.Yell SNAKE! when workin with backpacker's on lettuce field's,watch em run like hell lol.
"It won't bother you if you don't annoy it" Yeah, everything I've heard says funnelwebs are highly aggressive, and have been known to chase people. And those fangs can punch through a toenail.
Go and watch a Few George Carlin gigs around the same time. You will agree with me. When I said shared material, I was not being literal, as in sharing jokes in writing. They must have shared jokes, musings in conversation. Also, only a small portion of Billy's act is off the cuff.
He and George Carlin are the same type. Carlin was unheard of on Europe. They shared material. Watch a few of both, you will see. Carlin was a little more cynical, and Billy Connolly was more of a storyteller.
I’m only part Scottish which means I do tan but I go a sort of orange and the bits that don’t get tanned are still pale blue. Which means I look like a strange zebra.
there will never be a stand up again like billy connolly. scottish legend.
Absolutely. Funniest man on the planet.

Enter "Billy Connolly CR" into the searchbox. Another user has uploaded the complete routine, albeit in 3 parts.
How many of those shirts does he own?!?!?!?!?! LOL
