"Here it is..." Years ago I was listening to an interview with Sedaka, talking about this song. And he talked about the importance of the "killer" transition and the killer chord. And obviously he was talking about the transition to "Oooo, I hear laughter...". It's a great song overall, but it's that transition to the killer chord that makes it the most memorable.
Two talented gentlemen here... that's for sure. But it really is special seeing Neil Sedaka again. Thank you Steve and your amazing band for keeping so many classic songs alive by giving them exciting new arrangements!

Sklar played bass on the original track in the '70s, so he probably jumped at the chance to work on this rendition. If you haven't, you should check out Sklar's episode on his YT channel where he discusses working with Neil on this way back when. There's also another episode where Sklar talks about working on "Bad Blood".

I watched his YT video where he discussed how he got to play on the original version and then did his “play along”. I would have loved to be at the recording at Steve’s place, just to feel the energy of all these musical legends in one room !
We have been fans of Steve for years! Been to many of his shows here in Southern California. We were lucky to have met him at one of his shows at the Catalina Club in Hollywood. His pals Rod Stewart and Burt Backarach were both there along with other prominent music folks. We met his late wife (many years ago) What a great evening! We try to attend his shows when he is appearing near us. If you have not been to one of his live shows you are missing something very special. Steve and Neil are great together. Keep the music coming Steve!

I like the way this singer adds a unique twist to his version. It sounds less polished like a studio version but also has that nostalgic feel of Bobby Caldwell feel to it which I love.
