Agree with you...... if I close my eyes it's like I'm listening to BJ and his band (as they were when The Stranger album came out in the 70s), even the saxophonist hits exactly the same notes as Richie Cannata did in his little riffs. Vocal likeness to Billy is pretty darn good.
Great cover...but for me, the sax (who has great technique) sounds a bit too bright and nasal...his tone does nothing for me. But BJ says okay to Cavanaugh so who am I.

I found out about this music during the winter seasons in 2022. It was performed by Barry White ; and I was totally convinced that he was the author of " Just the way you are " . After some searches I discovered the real author . But willing to have some diversity I tried this version of Michael Cavanaugh . If was during Christmas ; beautiful moments ! Since then I and my family listened to it maybe 300 times and we still are charmed of the this beautiful performance ! We sing it on our way to work , when we do shoppings , when we cook etc . We simply love this piece of art with Michael Cavanaugh 's finger print left on it !
