So much to learn and so little time to learn it! This has been such an interesting guided tour, you were certainly privileged to have an extremely knowledgeable man to take you around. Amazing, thanks for taking us along, it’s been thoroughly enjoyable.
Hi Sean, this was a very interesting episode, funny too, 😅 and immensely informative to say the least. Here is a piece of information that I’d like to share with you regarding your question to Dr. Wattana about the edibility of ferns. You might be interested to check out Acrostichum aureum, also known as the swamp fern, or Akoor in my native language. It grows near the riverside or swamps, hence the name. I originally come from Goa where this fern is found in plenty. We make a very delicious curry from the tender shoots/fronds of these fern with either jackfruit seeds or local beans called “alsanne”, something like pinto beans. Thank you for this episode. ❤
Thank you for your curiosity Sean - you're making Botany , especially Taxonomy, very interesting .. !!! I especially like the identification board for nuts!! :)
Amazing place, love the QR codes on the trees an plants. A monocot, will not grow back if the crown is cut, grass, birds of paradise, banana trees. A dicot if cut back will send out axillary buds. 💚
Thank you for your tour Sean! Nice Botanicals Garden...I interesting for medical plants.. maybe next time can you make tour for medical plants plz..tq🙏 Have a nice day 👍
How interesting, that fern that forms pups outside of itself! It basically creates a lower life form that can then create it. There you go, make babies 😆
I was very sorry to hear of of Dr. Wattana Tanming death 😢 of Dr. Wattana Tanming, Assistant Curator 7, Research and Conservation Office. Botanical Garden Organization (BGO) Dr. Wattana is an important person in the world of botanists. It is considered a loss of important personnel in the field of botany.😢
Thank you for showing me parts of the world I’ll never get too 😁💚

Specifically arecaceae, others like arums, dracaenas, zingibers can give rise to offshoots if the growing tip is cut off
