I enjoyed both experts bringing us the scientific names and impressions of jungle plants, mostly from Thailand. I am also very interested in tropical countries, my wife is from Sumatera Barat, and we both have been approx 10 times to Bogor Botanical Gardens, Java; 2 times to the Bot. Garden of Rio de Janeiro, 3 times to Nong Nooch Bot. Gardens, Thailand, 3 times to Huntington Bir. Gardens in California, to the main tropical Garden in Florida, to the Bot. Garden of Cibodas, Java, to Lancaster and Wilson Bit. Gardens, Costa Rica and we visited Indonesia approx. 20 times. For us it‘s probably the highlight of every holiday to make daytours into the jungle areas in these tropical countries. Our next vacation will be to Yucatán, Mexico in Sept. 2024. The whole family of Palms throughout the world covers so many different palms, alone this fact is simply amazing…. Thank you for giving us this impression of jungle plants !
This is my favourite field trip video so far. The foliage is so huge and beautiful my jaw was just hanging open. This is what a tropical forest would look like in my mind with the rays of sunlight, the water, the giant fronds, and the mist. Wow!
I love those enormous palms. One day, somewhere, somehow, I hope to have my very own (sustainably) heated mini palm house ~ to listen to music & do yoga in!
Wow what a big palms. Big leaves with big names. A big thank u for this video. The plants are growing without any interference from man , natural growth . U r so lucky u can touch them. May God bless us to see more videos of such unusual plants through you dear. Bye...🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷
yes, very typical gentle thai mindset towards nature. loving that too! i have the pleasure / blessing to visit thailand, chiangmai often. always visiting my favs spots, totally forgetting the botanic garden... so that WILL be my next place to visit SOON! greetings from singapore
Omg I want those palms; they’re so luscious and breathtaking to look at. Thank you so much for this wonderful tour summer, this so amazing. I have the licuala peltata but damn mine is so juvenile haha
Another super video with the wonderfully knowledgeable Dr Piyakaset. I am keeping my fingers crossed that your trip to Thailand will include a jungle treck at some stage and maybe you will even see the rafflesia!
summer another amazing episode! when i lived in south florida i grew many of the species of palms featured here. i was a member of the palm beach palm and cycad society. once a year they held a picnic and plant auction with truly amazing plants available. it was an incredibly fun way of going broke. this video brought back such great memories!
Holy smokes.... this was absolutely beautiful! Thank you very much for making these! All these plants appeat to be in great shape, their leaves are sparkling and shining! Ill never forget the sorry state of my local tropical glashouse. 80% of foliage was covered with some dried out film of something... like some mud or pesticide. You could barely tell the color and the surface texture... oh well...
Amazing! the palms in the greenhouse were incredible and so massive. What a beautiful place to visit. Thank you thank you so much for this beautiful tour of the Tropical Rainforest Greenhouse, loving all of your videos, and look forward to the next one.
Fascinating collection of plants! I love the rainforest feel and especially the waterfall! Guess the Zingiber with the changing colors impressed me most.
"Smell this leaf, smells just like our giant waterbug" hahaha THe future is eating bugs people. We might as well start getting used to it now. Thailand already ready. lol
(3:40) - “Oh, that’s a Trevisia palmata “. - The ‘ah-ha’ moment when presented with a full size version of one’s little houseplant. ~ One reason some sizable rainforest species are viable as moderately sized indoor plants is because when starting life on the dim forest floor, they naturally remain in a slow growing juvenile state , sometimes for years, until an opportunity for rapid growth occurs if the canopy opens up letting more light in. In this type of juvenile state they often hold onto their leaves for years too.
There's another good shot ... Can't remember what video now I edited it in... But a small Trevisia in the understory of Queen Sirikit Botanic Garden...

10:13 that has to be the biggest cultivated Piper ornatum I've ever seen, more impressive is the fact that it's exposed on a rock when it's usually in deep shade
He is in the perfect temperature and climate to have a Rainforest being in Thailand. He just needed to add some extra moisture into the picture, which he has done well on.
So I have to say that this is another nice episode I've seen now. Thank you, everything is great. Great music, great shots, perfect. are the exceptionally beautiful plants. I would like to have the Johannesteijsmannia altrifrons in my bathroom because I do not need a towel to dry anymore😁👍
Wow, what a great video! Thank you for sharing this high-resolution experience. :) I love seeing all the plants with botanical names given in captions, a wonderful learning tool. As a Canadian, and fellow obsessive botanist, it is absolutely breathtaking to be able to see so many gorgeous endemic Thai/ tropical plants in such a short span of time. Maybe it's my polite, overly considerate, humble Canadian upbringing, but I do wish that Summer would let the resident expert speak at greater length about the backstory of each plant here - sometimes it feels that she interrupts him in order to share her own knowledge (which is vast, no doubt, but not necessarily expert in these species, as he is) Given the specialness of this visit for us North Americans, it feels a little disappointing not to hear those insider tidbits from the man who described the species himself. Thank you again for your work Summer and team!
hi Summer, OMG I fell in love with so many plants in this greenhouse, especially the Licuala peltata var sumawongii (I would love this in my backyard), the Begonia Galbra, the Pterosermum diversifolium, and the Steudnera Colocasiifolia. I am loving this series from you, how is this not a Netflix show? This would be perfect as a half hour weekly show of you showing the gardens and greenhouses of the world (raising my hand to be part of the production team).
I go into my garden to loose my mind and find my soul ...this green house is awesome and his enthusiasm and knowledge is amazing. The palms are beautiful......wondering if they have a palm called Fish Palm...has large thorns on its stem. Don't know it's botanical name.
I looooove him!! You can totally tell how much he cares about his plants! 🥰🥰🥰
That place looks heavenly.... such a serene haven and green bastion for workspace!

Your tour was spectacular those leaves so big and lush.
I have a Licuala peltata at home. I have had it for many years in a giant pot outdoors now. Very nice plant, east to grow and take care of.
