Well i think that 12 years is necessary if snaps take so long to start...
that made me giggle 😁
12 years is proper
Bruh this will outlive Windows 12 💀💀 Good news for servers I guess
@MichaelDustter No one will use anything before Ubuntu 30 in 2035, this is only relevant for servers and enterprise
The only people who would use an extremely old OS are ones that don't care about the support, such as windows 7 plebs
Red Hat, need I say more ?
Now you know why professional servers prefer ubuntu instead of debian or other distros like Fedora.
Well that and having a proper company you can contact for support instead of volunteers also helps
12 years is too long
Wasting manpower
nah
MANPOWER? LMFAO. everything's being replaced by AI, and there's no need for manpower anymore.
Computers dont last 12 years so whats the point of having 12 years of updates? Sign up for pro? So then I get 12 years of updates as long as I give them my personal information. Yeah No Thank You Ubuntu
Well, these extended updates are useful to support hardware longevity and old servers that run old software. So this will be more useful for enterprises and individuals that need it. I think this 12 years updates commitment is good
@@sudoalex manufacturers no longer make things that last like that anymore. It goes against the bottom line not to mention by then you will probably only lease a system instead of buying one do to some copyright
Bullshit. My laptop's 12 years old and its up and running, and i'm using windows on it with no problem (it could also handle some light gaming, web browsing and stuff)

On electric bill to run & cool it....
8 years old server cost more to run than buying a new one.

I also still owned an i7 gen 2.
Still work great.
Can do simple office work (email, web, doc, etc)
But that's not the point of this.
12 years of maintaining old standard is a waste of human resources
