the software manager not showing unverified apps by default is really stupid. really stupid. put a warning on the app install page and list the issue clearly. I wasted so much time trying to get opera installed until I found the installation was disabled by default. your think this is a good idea? are you some AI bot? stupid to disable features without some notification on the front page of the software manager. linux and gaming? yes old games new are at linux useless!!!!! everyday some games drops in fps from 165 too 7fps ... every day .... again update and hope get a gpu update... amd shaders are useless as f....! iam 100% pissed of linux gaming... proton is bugging not working or wont work at all anticheat is the endgame ... i wnt too be a tryhard linux user but atm i dont think its worth it if i cant play my games its 100% useless ;D games with native linux support bugging to from 165fps too 7-14fps from one too an other day and this daily...

Two questions: 1. Does it play well with multiple monitors via a dock? 2. How well does it switch audio when connecting to a dock? I use KDE Neon Plasma 6 and it's a pain getting audio setup everytime I dock my laptop.

Nobara and pop are both terrible when it comes to UEFI systems, I can't get it either to boot regardless of how I set them up, very finicky OS's; Garuda is also rather unstable IMO and not very customizable either if you go for the dragonized version. You're truly better off not going for a "gaming" distro as there are very few reasons to pick them over the distro they're forked off of. The other 2 aren't even worth mentioning IMO, as they're so small time and probably not very well supported because of it; that they don't even genuinely matter in the grand scheme of things.

I'm very disapoint with mint 22 they still use old nvidia drivers no 550 100 or 555 they still have 535 or 545 drivers and still x11 default not waylan and kernel is 6.8 not 6.9 or 6.10

Antergos was my favourite before it died and then I stopped being lazy and switched to vanilla Arch. I did use Manjaro occasionally but it broke on me a few times and I agree with those who say if you want to try Arch you may as well go for the real deal. Its not that difficult to install especially there now being an installation script.

I wouldn’t rate Linux mint cinnamon as the best. It’s very flashy and hard on system resources not to mention cinnamon is a bit difficult to fine tune. Xfce and mate are both better than cinnamon. Easier to use and configure!!

I'd like to be loyal to Ubuntu, as I started with it many many years back when it was still quite new. When the Unity desktop came in, I swapped to Linux Mint, using the 'MATE' desktop. I've tried to use other desktops and other OSs but I always come back to mint MATE. Indeed, I tried Ubuntu MATE on my old desktop but was surprised how much slower and less user friendly it was. Linux Mint is simply a more polished and thoughtful downstream version of Ubuntu. While Mint wouldn't exist without Ubuntu (so thanks to all those using Ubuntu) but Ubuntu is commercial, has these HUGELY bloaty snap packages, is slower, and is very slightly less user friendly.
