Great information on the different types of housing units in Dubai and the number of people in each unit. I like that you have shopping haul videos in the area as well. Wow the cost of eating out and entertainment seems very inflated.

This is very helpful, the high cost of living situation is everywhere. Here in the UK for a household to comfortably is either you are having 2 income or 1 income. If you are 1 come, you must be on a very good and high wage.

I agree with you the cost of living is increasing every where. When I visit the UK I usually stock up on some supplies because purchasing the same items in Dubai is extremely expensive

Great video and objective based on the current climate. Can I ask.. based on your figures in this video, what would be the minimum monthly AED income you’d be comfortable living on for a family of 3 or 4?

Some of the jobs in Dubai provide housing/education allowances in addition to the base salary. Education/Housing can be very costly so a position where you'll receive some additional allowances is best. ''Living a comfortable life'' is all relative to what you define as comfort. A base of 40K- 50K with allowances should provide a comfortable life. This figure is just a guesstimate and will vary based on your lifestyle. You can check property finder to get an idea of housing cost for villa or apartments. Check my shopping hauls to see how you'll budget for groceries and the KHDA website for the various school fees.

Thank you for the excellent information. I'm going to explore other works of yours. I'm planning to move to the UAE from the US on a remote worker visa for a temporary two-year period to experience the lifestyle in Dubai. I'm searching for suitable accommodation for a family of four, with kids who will be attending 3rd and 4th grade. My monthly income is around $12K. Could you suggest areas that would be appropriate? Thanks.

Cool I also moving with my family applying for the digital nomad visa. I have a monthly income of $9k, however, as software developer I decided to keep another extra work that pays $8.8k just to be sure I will be able to afford the cost of living; but I expect to live up to $9k including private school and everything; share your experience with us, have a good luck

Thanks for a wonderful video. What monthly salary do you think would be comfortable for a couple with no children?

I would say it all depends on what you consider to be living comfortable. A salary of AED20,000 should be enough to get a moderate apartment, pay utilities and transport. Some people live on less than that in Dubai

I am a forex trader and planning on relocating to Dubai. I make an average of $10k a month, what kind of apartment do you think would fit into my income and then still have some savings afterwards?
    Thanks.

If this is 10k US$ you will have a comfortable life in Dubai if you’re alone. The conversion is around 36k AED monthly. You can get a studio apartment in the Marina for around 65k a year(that’s around 6KAED monthly) That’s one of the popular area in Dubai so would be priced lots of restaurants within walking distances. If you want to save money you looks for apartments on the outskirts of the city. You can check property finder and type in dubai. Enter the price point you want to spend and you’ll see the various options.
