Might be an unpopular opinion but Dubai thrives because it's an Emirate and not a democracy. The owners of Dubia which is the ruling family have a vested and genuine interest in the development of their country cos it's like their private property or heritage, handed through the ancestral lines. So they are vested in it's success. Democracy breeds gluttony, selfishness and the need to perpetuate thievery by a small group of people who know their time at the top is limited and would want to grab everything at once at the expense of the general population.
One of the best comments 👌 on here. They want their country to make profits and stay up-to-date with innovation.
You are absolutely right. I was born there and grew up there, everything you said is accurate.
You nail it!
The people there can't be themselves, they just have to smile along and nod...to their rulers. If you say anything on twitter, Facebook..etc against the ruling family, you are going to jail or disappear from planet earth. You can't even criticize the ruling family.
I beg to differ slightly.
Dubai deserves the credit for its extraordinary achievements in record time, but this has nothing to do with democratic or monarchial rule. Most democracies in the West for instance have been developed far longer than Dubai. Some of those countries may not be as flashy as Dubai but they've built a sustainable and reliable environment that allows people to achieve their goals.
Dubai also needed more experienced professionals from advanced democratic nations to help build It up.
In summary, I'd say there are countries led by monarchies or autocrats that are in a mess. And there are so-called democratic countries like Nigeria that are messed up as well.
Dubai has done an amazing job so far and is set for an even greater future.
I dont want to bring politics into this video but there is no reason why Nigeria cannot be like Dubai with the right leadership. I live in the US and I believe in my heart of hearts that Nigeria will be unrecognizable in 4 years with the right leadership. VOTE WISELY!!
That goes for many African countries i'm from Cameroon and tbh we can so much do better, it's appalling
@@MagicMac-hv4nz I feel like once Nigeria gets its shit together it will trickle to other countries. We are the most populous and with the most continental and global footprint.
The niger delta has been destroyed with oil spills. Accessing capital is almost impossible for most nigerians. There are open sewers, poor road infrastructure, unstable electricity, mass poverty, ethnic insecurity and banditry, etc.. You think that 60 years of mismanagement can be fixed in 4 years? Most of the people who are running are directly tied to the mismanagement. We must become realistic about our condition in hopes of solving our problems.
@@livingforever6157 break it up
@@555125kevin breaking up Nigeria will not solve these issues. It will take much more than that to address all of these problems.
I have been to Dubai, and stay there for like two months. It was too hot, but it was safe and exciting.
Lol 2 months is way too short for you to claim this heat, right now it's like we're a block away from hell's gate💀
@@meanttobealli My guy, Africa is hot, but the Dubai heat is hot hot max pro... even the air is hot. When I first got there I thought it would get cooler at the night, how wrong I was, lol.

Honestly, Steven, You are a great amazing content creator. You are just so natural with putting reality into content and setting the pace for viewers to explore and exploit their potential based on the varieties of content you upload on your Page.
I urge anyone here reading my comment who owns a company and has some funds put for CSR to invest in you as a corporate entity or otherwise. You are doing a lot in opening up the real potential for the upcoming generation, and I strongly believe you deserve all the support available out there.
Great Job Brother 🌿👍🏾
Thank you Funsho
Great video, but i would have loved to see and hear from the Nigerians who sold and borrowed to go to Dubai, not mostly those who obviously belong to the Nigerian middle class and went there with some money. Because everyone on tik tok is advising folks NOT to go to Dubai if they're going there to look for work.
People have different experiences.. but you know I could not meet a lot of people in my short stay
Wow, it's nice to hear fellow Africans saying good things about DXB to inspire us. We must also take inspiration from there to develop our countries by fixing our leadership first.
Nice to see you in Dubai Steven, you look fit for that country.
😂
The difference between Nigeria and advanced economies can be summed up in one thing : Rule of law.
Rule of law is definitely a factor but so is mindset, culture and values. Unfortunately Nigerian culture is not one that is progressive hence the backwardness of the country.
Man your content is fire. I did not want this video to end.
Thank you
Steven, I don't think our green passport is our problem establishing ourselves or business outside Nigeria, is just a few bad eggs among us and also the financial capital to start business in other countries., You did an amazing job by interviewing Nigerians and other black people in Dubai., Watching you from island of Mauritius.
Wonderful and inspiring video Steven Ndukwu, greetings and love from the Netherlands always.
Much love 🙏
This was great. Really informative. Please consider making a series.
Thank you for this video, it gives me insight and a new perspective on working in Dubai. I was considering working and eventually opening a business there.... If these great people can make it, I'm sure I can also make it there
Steven your interviews are with people who are made alright you can't use these uptown people to compare why not ask someone who came with nothing trying to make a life in Dubai am in Abu Dhabi UAE you should balance your reports it's not easy and the treatment is nothing to write home about.
Then come back home. Why are you guys over there anyways eating up racism and discrimination
Great job!! What an impressive business woman
I have not gotten what I seek in Dubai. I have no doubt its due to the stereotype we have been branded with... but directly, I have not been treated differently because I am Nigerian. This video filled me with Ideas... We always want to take... take jobs from people and other nationalities who invested, but don't think of creating jobs here to help their economy since we are here. One can see that if these wonderful Nigerians who own businesses here had an enabling Nigeria, they will do better, but if we who want to get jobs were in 'enabling' Nigeria, we will use up the resources. This video is the best thing that has happened to me in a while... thank you Steven.
You made some sense here
@@StevenNdukwu HEY STEPHEN I AM IN THE US AND I AM INTERESTED IN COMING TO DUBAI WHAT IS YOUR RECOMMENDATION I HATE RACISM AND RACIST PEOPLE WILL I FEAR WELL OUT THERE....
I stayed in Dubai for 4 years. But there is always two side of a coin. He is only showing us one side and I need him to show ppl the other side then u will decide. Dubai is a no go place for an average African
Why would it be a no go place?
Why do you say that? You write a comment then disappear.
What makes me laugh is that there are Nigerians who think our country is 'great'. A country that can't even supply it's citizens with common electricity 😑
sad reality 😅😆😅😆

Beautiful content man. It's really an eye opener. Great job👍
The problem is that most Africans think building European countries and America it's something to brag about. European countries and America don't want unskilled Africans. Majority of us go there to help them build their own countries with our skills while our countries are a ditch. An African can be a millionaire overseas but won't bother to take few dollars to build a school in his home town, buy a franchise at home that is going to create jobs for his people. They prefer buying houses in Europe. For an example, i have never heard that Dangote built a hospital or a school in Nigeria. It will take some good samaritan from America to donate money to children who need surgeries in Africa while Africans are buying expensive alcohol overseas.

Beautiful and excellent work.
Nigeria's are very aggressive but very intelligence and I love that. Time limt may be a challenge
But Steve my question is
Do u know any business founder in Dubai who is from Ghana ?
Like what I'm watching now ?
No I don’t
My comment on this is, Dubai has been able to grow to this extent because of their type of government. In my country Nigeria, we choose government every four years, now each government has its own plan for the country, the projects started by the present government if the next government comes in they will start another one , rather then continue with the ones started by the present government, so first we have to look at the type of governance practice in Nigeria.
This will not work in Nigeria of different languages and ethnic groups, they speak only one language in UAE with same culture which makes it easy for them to have only one ruler.
@@michaelakinbode1334 Nigeria need laws to ensure projects ate continued by future governments.
Let's build Africa
I'm never even going there as a tourist.
🤔I know Dubais majority are Muslims, is it compulsory for other nationalities to wear a hijab 🧕 or cover up outside the street? Is there any other hidden issues we need to know before committing ourselves into hot water? Please advise, thank you for nice contents.
Not necessarily
This video is fireeeeeee🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Somalia has everything Dubai has and more in resources. The oil the gas the beaches, better climate. We will rebuild starting off with east Africa largest real estate project . Africa can do it! No need for Dubai!
Well said! Thanks for being honest! Africa has more resources than most.
The new generation of leaders, have their work cut out for them!
Very well made sir!
Loved this.
They all kept saying one thing: "It works." This is what you get when a country actually works. In stark contrast to Nigeria. We can borrow a leaf from Dubai, if we can.
Nina made an important statement in the disrespect of Nigerians in securing visas to South Africa 🇿🇦 and Europe! Dubai respects Nigerians!
Great Video thank you for sharing!
Pls as a Nigerian don't go to UAE or Dubai pls this video does not say anything about living there
I think it's easier for a woman single women to move to Dubai because that is what I think you just show us

Informative video
Good morning is there any Areas i mean land to buy and build immediately in lagos that is not connected to underground pipe lines or all these Dangote this and that ?
Developing someone else’s country never made sense to me. UAE is rich because we take our money to them and develop their country instead of developing ours. They definitely laugh at our ignorance while they take our money.
A Country that frustrate development of anything you will only end up loosing all your hard earned money. If a country provide opportunity, development and growth why not. Because it’s my country does not mean I should throw my hard earned money down the drain let us be wise.
No, Dubai is not rich because we take our money there. Diasporeans pump billions of dollars in to Nigeria but as our country's values, morals, mindset and leadership is so poor, that money does not develop the country
Exactly, everyone wants to run abroad and live in a developed Nation but they don't want to work hard in their own country to make difference. People want ease without working hard for it. They end up putting their effort into developing another country, and eventually, they have to go home.
@@SM-rf4vrthe amount of money being pumped back home from the diasporans is good enough to develop their countries back home.
They sit on oil.

I'm confused. I just saw another video that says you can't record in public and I thought they hate Nigerians
Most people lie about what really happens in Dubai especially women we've seen the potaparty videos it's difficult to live there unless you are willing to do anything for money
Thanks for sharing
The camera 🎥 shooting is low quality compare the one Namibia 🇳🇦
Very inspiring
Guys think a bit before investing if Dubai was a good country why princess Haya would flee Dubai she was princess and why the two daughters of Dubai sheikh flee Dubai so do you think still Dubai is good. When you buy property in UAE and if in case you are deported there is no chance for you to sell your property or take your belongings its all left here and you get deported your belongings and property goes for Dubai government and they sell it in auction and they say the owner of the property flee the country that's how these people scam outsiders so never move or invest warning Dubai is a honeycomb trap
More women entrepreneurs?
Great video! I am moving to Dubai soon to start my dream life 😁🤩xxx

Stephen, Dubai is really a city of dreams but don't be deceived cos everything u see is fake and can be taken away from u in a heartbeat. Even the police will tell u "Dubai give, Dubai take". I think u have to enter the streets to really understand Dubai, go to places like Sharjah,Al tawon,Ajman,um Al quin,Al qouz, deira, etc where the every day people are and you'll get the truth about living in Dubai. The country is interested in your money so if you have it to invest in their country they'll collect it from u no matter who u are, but when that money finishes u hit rock bottom hard. I've been in Dubai, spent close to two years and I'm a living witness. Had the good times, the bad times and the hellish times of my life when I was there
Do you live in Dubai?
You could be right

I live in Abu Dhabi UAE, it's an amazing place. But ladies do hv preferential treatment more than guys. I guess that's why she didn't encounter any sort of obstacles opening her businesses there. I know what I'm saying.
You are implying that the women are doing well because they offer sexual services in return for their success. These women are not in the same class of 80% of Nigerian women working as prostitutes in Dubai. These women are hardworking and educated.
You mention business in DuBai? Please tell us the type of business someone can start in DuBai!!

Stop building for other people!, go and build your own. take your resources to your motherland, build Africa it is all you've got.
UAE is kind of good when u have a good job, before owning a business on your own, but the wealth 🤣🤣🤣🤣 is no go area 🤦🤦

Africa has more mineral resources and a vibrant youthful human resource than most.
The new generation of leaders, have their work cut out for them!
If the Leadership in Dubai were in Nigeria. Nigeria would be alot better. Get a Good Driver into any Vehicle and you will certainly get to your destination.
In this narrative, Good leadership is an essential ingredient for growth and development.
The UAE learnt how to develop and grow their various environments by adapting and adopting from the best and brightest. So, it was a matter of time for Dubai to grow from an Arid Desert into a Glittery city!
With the right mindset, rule of law, vision, collective embrace of growth and development.
A Blessed and Resourceful Africa would certainly be a new frontier.
Stop the neocolonialism from without and the persistent corruption from within!
The Old Guard has made it's mistakes, but the younger generation now has no excuse to stop growing and developing our beloved Africa.

I just found this video .... awesome ... yes Africa and the Caribbean could have a Dubai but it takes good leadership. Dubai thrives because its not democratic. It ruled by a royal family with a vision.
