    Such lovely beautiful whole food meals!!!! We eat with our eyes, so when we treat plant based meals in the way we used to eat, with seasoning and plating, I feel it makes it enjoyable to eat veggies and whole foods! I think a lot of people too can switch out the eggs for maybe seasoned beans or tofu if they were 100% plant based, so easy to eat healthfully no matter what your diet!

    Why sea salt? People...you need to eat table salt. You need your iodine!!! Sodium is sodium it doesn't matter where it is from but table salt has iodine which is extremely essential for keeping a healthy thyroid gland, which btw regulates metabolism and calcium in your bones!!!

    • @leslieelaine8499
      @leslieelaine8499 7 років тому +20

      Lizzy sea salt has more minerals and flavor, do you don't need to use as much as table salt. Iodized salt was needed a long time ago before enriched foods and global shipping of produce.

    • @sarahh2072
      @sarahh2072 6 років тому +3

      They actually removed iodine from table salt in the US

    • @carissacarlson1418
      @carissacarlson1418 6 років тому +2

      There are other sources for iodine outside of iodized salt (which is rather uncommon now days anyways) as well. In fact, one of the best is sea vegetables like kelp, having literally the daily amount in one sheet and then some.

    Hi Liezl
    Omg your diet issues have been identical to mine. I also use to vomit on the high fat low carb diet. I also had the same mind set buying expensive healthy food and eating it non stop and then gaining 20 kilos in a few months. I know that you have to control the amount of calories we put in but sometimes it just takes someone who has been there done that to prove it works. I am ready to start this new way of life now and loose all my excess weight. You have shown me the way. Thank you so much. Xxx

    I'm 6ft tall. Does it make sense for me to need a little more food, or am I just fooling myself? I feel like this amount of food would leave me starving, but I don't know if that's just because I'm used to eating more frequently/more calories. I love your videos, btw! You're super motivating and sweet!

    • @eviegray7669
      @eviegray7669 8 років тому +5

      RikkeTakera1 it's completely natural for you to need more food because you are taller! I'm the same, at 5'11 and 14, my body is still growing and because I'm tall already, I need more food! Don't be ashamed of eating, I've been there and it's not nice! Eat until you're satisfied :)

    • @univers66
      @univers66 8 років тому +6

      You can easily calculate the number of calories you need in a day according to your age, height and level of activity on websites. If you want to lose weight, you must reduce your calories needed for a day by 300-400 calories. If you do more, you'll starve yourself and your body will go on "survival mode" diminishing your metabolism, and making your body need less calories per day, meaning that if you go back to your normal diet, you'll gain weight! So be careful not starving yourself. Thats why this channel is awesome, she shows people that you MUST eat enough everyday in order to LOSE weight.

    • @LiezlJayne
      @LiezlJayne  8 років тому +8

      Hey! Yes you would probably need more food than me - I am only 5'2 :) It also depends on how active you are in a day - Do you exercise a few days a week? Also, do you move around a lot in the day, or are you sitting at a desk most of the day? These things will all determine how many calories you need. But, you are obviously much taller than me - so your natural body weight will always be slightly higher than mine - even at your goal size (NOT A BAD THING). This is just because I have a petite/ short frame, and you have a taller frame.
      You will have to try some different amounts of calories, test it out to see what works for you. How many calories are you eating a day at the moment?
      Hope this helps!!! XO

    • @hotpopslollipop
      @hotpopslollipop 8 років тому +2

      Jocelyn Powell incorrect. Plant based foods can still include a lot of fats. People who eat no animal products but who eat an excess of plant based oils and fats can and WILL continue to gain weight. Avo, nuts, coconut, olives and all of their oils are very caloric. I've seen it first hand.

    • @rikketakera
      @rikketakera 8 років тому +2

      Liezl Jayne Strydom Thank you so much for helping me out! I do exercise about four times a week and I ride my bicycle to uni every day (that's 50-ish minutes back and forth and I go fast!), but I'm a student, so I do sit at a desk and I don't have the MOST active lifestyle, that's for sure. My weight is pretty average, bordering on slightly chubby, and I'd just like to slim down ever so slightly. I don't count calories. I've just been trying to eat better and move more. Would you recommend I start actually counting? - love you x

    I like the way you prepare the vegetables, but how are you getting enough protein? Like I notice you eat a lot of almond butter but thats only 6 grams of protein per serving. Especially when protein is important for fat loss and not just weight loss which could be muscle loss.

      Beans have lots of protein too.

    Thanks for the awesome recipes. I'll be sure to try them out but two things come to mind while watching this video, firstly WHY are you trying to lose weight!? You look fantastic just the way you are and secondly why are you wearing shoes on such a beautiful sofa lol
