Comprehensive Guide to the World of Warframe: An In-depth Look at Gameplay and Lore
Welcome to the thrilling universe of Warframe, a game that has not only captured the imaginations of millions worldwide but has also established a rich tapestry of lore and an exciting gameplay experience. Whether you are a new player or a seasoned veteran, this guide will delve deep into the world of Warframes, their abilities, and the intricate lore surrounding them.
Introduction to Warframe
Warframe is a third-person shooter game that combines elements of action, RPG, and cooperative multiplayer. It is set in a futuristic, sci-fi universe where players take on the role of Tenno, ancient warriors who have awoken from centuries of cryosleep to find themselves at war with different factions.
The Origin of Warframes
At the heart of the game are the Warframes-powerful suits of armor that provide unique abilities to their wearers. The first Warframe introduced in both the game and the lore is Excalibur, known for its balanced abilities and straightforward combat style. Excalibur's powers range from the offensive "Slash Dash" to the defensive "Radial Javelin," showcasing its versatility.
Following Excalibur, we explore other Warframes like Volt, Mag, Trinity, Ember, and more. Each Warframe comes with a distinct set of abilities that cater to various play styles, from fast-paced and aggressive to strategic and supportive.
Lore and Backstory
Warframe's lore is deeply intertwined with its gameplay. The story unfolds through quests, cinematics, and in-game events, revealing the origins of the Tenno and the Warframes, as well as the history of the Solar System. Players learn about the Orokin Empire, the Sentients they fought, and the ongoing conflict with factions like the Grineer and Corpus.
Gameplay Mechanics
Warframe stands out for its fast-paced, parkour-style movement and deep customization options. Players can equip their Warframes with a range of weapons and mods to enhance their abilities, tailoring their loadouts to their preferred tactics. The game also features a dynamic mission system, offering a variety of objectives and challenges that can be tackled solo or with a squad.
Community and Co-op Play
The community aspect of Warframe is robust, with a focus on cooperative play. Clans and alliances can be formed, allowing players to build their own space stations and participate in large-scale cooperative missions. Events and updates are regularly added, providing fresh content and keeping the community engaged.
Continued Development and Updates
Digital Extremes, the developers of Warframe, are known for their active engagement with the community and their regular updates to the game, which include new Warframes, missions, and story expansions. This ongoing development ensures that the game remains dynamic and exciting for new and returning players alike.
Conclusion
Warframe offers a rich gaming experience with its detailed world, complex lore, and engaging gameplay. Whether you're battling through missions, exploring vast open-world areas, or participating in deep-space combat, Warframe offers a unique blend of action and strategy wrapped in a visually stunning package.

Koda might have dropped the ball here.
its aalways funny when the gameplay addicts dont both with anything but the gameplay cause they also get very whinny aabout stuff but anywaay theres still 49 frames to go so xwx
nlg, the nareation at the start of Dante Unbound got me in tears.

I’m excited that the boys are able to randomly talk about whatever their hearts desire.
It's pretty rad.

I'm surprised Koda didn't give Isyander the lore on Gauss, where the Saint of Altus literally OUTRAN A NUCLEAR MINEFIELD

As a Warhammer fan, it is nice to see Isyander and Koda talk about something that I haven't already poured mountains of time into researching. Don't get me wrong, I love Warhammer and Isyander is probably one of my favorite Warhammer lore guys on the internet, but listening to Koda's Warframe lore is more than refreshing.
Also the Appa hat is a stylistic masterpiece.

Weird having Koda explain it, ive never been into warframe, but im ready to be convinced. Enough people gave me a chance when i became obsessed with warhammer.
I used to play warframe on PS4. It was fun but the only thing I really remember is grinding. A LOT of grinding. However if I've learned one thing from this video (other than how every warframe other than Excalibur works as i never got the others) its that I was playing the game EXTREMELY incorrectly. I need to play it again when I finally get a new PC, keyboard controls might be better. Anyways game's fun, give it a shot. Just make sure to learn how to actually use your warframe, I definitely didn't 😅
Hello from the warframe community!
From this video, Koda kinda slipped up by starting with mechanics and the frames and not the available lore.
Unlike Warhammer, there isn't buckets and buckets of lore available. But the lore that is there is fascinating.
Warframes for example, are people who have had a bio-weapon heavily infused into their bodies. Then "void energy" laced into them to create a set of powers tailored to a specific purpose.
As for the frames themselves, they were designed to replace the, at the time, ruling empires standing armies. They were also built to overcome an enemy that was built, designed, and assigned to colonize the sol system (our solar system) by the same empire.
But the biggest thing about the frames that Koda missed, is that many of the original frames are actually dead. What you play as are essentially template reconstructions, based on what the frames could do.
There are around 3 or 4 main factions that serve as fodder for the gameplay/story line.
The Grineer, a clone based people that more or less replicate their populace and served as engineers and builders before some kind of genetic degradation made them more war-like.
The Corpus, another group that relies heavily on cloning, but they have a more advanced understanding of the technology. They are a group that is largely defined by their pursuit of "profit" earning them the description of a "cult that worships money". They are an industrialists group that spreads through the solar system trying to pull as much resources as possible and turning it in to product, to then sell to the highest bidder.
The Infested, a bio-weapon that never made it past the experimental stage before going wildly out of control and spreading like the flood out of Halo. It functions like a cross between the Flood and the Tyranids, with longer living forms growing in sentience and power. It can infect and repurpose any type of being or object. With the exception of the Warframes and the Tenno. But tenno are a spoilers topic so I won't share that here.
Additionally there are the Orokin, hyper advanced beings that essentially are the cause of all the solar systems problems by way of hubris. They are essentially an extinct faction but their tech is sought after by all factions in the game, chief among them being the Warframes. Of note, the warframes were largely used as shows of force that were so overwhelming that their enemies would simply submit rather than fight back. Any that fought back were outright exterminated.
Many however, regard the warframes as a relic of a bygone era. Seeing them are largely obsolete in the current time. Essentially the galaxy forgot how terrifying they were because after the Orokin empire was destroyed by the very warframes they built, they fell silent. Those that returned either died or were destroyed when confronted with insurmountable odds.
For power scaling.
Objectively, the average warframe is akin to a full chapter of space marines. The Custodian Guard of Terra would also be vulnerable to many of the more powerful frames.
I zoned out, and came back to "Citrussy", and I will never get those seconds back
You can't blame him. In official dev notes it was referred to as the gemussy. Again, official dev notes.
I love Isyander reaction to Citrine's gemussy, but im disappointed in Koda for not mentioning Wisp's Bakery
When he talked about another frame people simped for I thought he was talking about wisp
WHERE MY FELLOW GAUSS MAINS AT?!
Wow Im just getting back into Warframe and you are dropping this, we love to see it.
Man, Isyander really underestimated how popular JJK is.
MY BESTO FRIENDO!!
It was really nice to hear Koda warming up throughout the video. From the stilted, off the page reading, in the start, to the casual conversation about what he liked abit into the episode.
The "Infection to combat an infection" one at around 17:00 sounds like a tiny Great Unclean One. The Grandfather would be proud of his little granddaughter!
Actually, yes!
That is essentially saryn in a nutshell.
But the thing is, she is actually immune to her own viruses. And is largely asymptomatic to its affect on her form.
(You can actually see fungi and boils on parts of her body)
"K, I misheard you." Isyander about to start sweating about being demonitized.
A bit of trivia;- Digital Extremes who made Warframe released a game in 2008 known as DarkSector which was said to precede Warframe.
Long story short; it involves a mad scientist unleashing a biomechanical virus in a Russo-Country & it's upto CIA agent Hayden Tenno (this is whom the Tenno is named after) to stop it, gets infected with said virus, gains abilities etc
Nyx is also originally from that game. You can get deluxe skins for Excal and Nyx that make them look like they did in Dark Sector
Oh man. That sounds familiar now.
as much as i was expecting a 40k video this week i appreciate the change of pace. im not very knowledgeable about warframe but the lore i do know is really cool. its also really fun to see isyander be the one learning for once.

A whole lot of turbulence!!!
I have and always will be a Rhino Main. For I am an immortal unstoppable brickwall that will not and cannot be stopped. I will crash my way through my enemies and protect my friends.
As a valkyr main I will support your endeavor with a well placed warcry.
These two, 10/10 agree. I have Rhino Prime, and I will STAND on that hill and dare people to come and fight me on that fact.
The "unstoppable" part is especially on point nowadays, as Rhino's Iron Skin was updated to be overguard, which makes him immune to enemy crowd control.
Dante is so much fun.
1st: Summon spellbook weapon
2nd: Heal and overgaurd for friends.
3rd: "To shreds you say?" Slice things up in front of you.
4th: depends on the order you've cast 2 and 3.
22: More healing and overguard
23: Give everyone a turret that's a copy of your spellbook.
32: Summon CIA cameras (or birds) to attack enemies and make them take more damage and distract them.
33: More damage and in a radius around you.
Warframe video? A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one

WARFRAME EPISODE!!! RAAAAH!!!!
It's funny because I'm starting to get back into Warframe and this video drops, keep up the great work as always!
:0
I’m always excited whenever Koda runs an episode, so I’m hyped for this!
I wanna see more Warframe lore podcasts from Koda. There's a lotta stuff to get hyped up for until 1999 update comes out
Ash has a Leverian codex entry. You can read his lore from there.
Proceeds for go put jellyfish jam on my Octavia Prime. Thank you Koda
You guys are too charismatic, I’m already deeply invested in warhammer because of you now I got to get into wareframe too
I am loving the Warframe episodes. Could the next one be a guide on how to do things in the game or a kind of beginners guide to the game? I tried getting into it years ago, but when I opened the map of the solar system, it was overwhelming, and when I went to an open world on Earth, I was so lost. I tried getting guides, but none of them really clicked.
Can't wait for the Thousand Sons episode!
Rhino and Rhino Prime loved his augment Iron charge augment. Had him built like a tank with all ability power and armor. I'd pop the roar giving myself and everyone aability power buff, Iron Charge a bunch of enemies to stack the 50% armor per enemy hit, then pop Iron Skin because it scales with the charge for a massive armor bonus. Hit 10,000 armor like that once nothing could damage me, while I just stomped to knock up the enemies or straight kill them for the team. I quit after massive melee nerf rework years ago. I used the Venka and Venka Prime claws because I had built them to be stupid fast, have high combo mulipler, ripped through armor, and crits that hit like a truck. It could 1 tap most enemies and some bosses given enough time to stack it for ridiculous high red crit damage and attack speed. I got a party invite from some randos once during an infested mission where I kept the melee combo multipler really high the whole mission while running straight for the Infested Juggernaut boss, slid into it for the maiming strike bonus and 1 shot it with a massive red crit, then continued to the exit without stopping or slowing down. I remember what they said when I entered the party "What the hell did you hit it with to do that?" While they were still shocked it wasn't a meta weapon that could do that.
Always love your videos, but this one had too much info for us to really get to know the frames. You guys slays figure it out, I'll be here waiting for the next one!
I really love the side trips into other geekdoms (though my favorite thing is when you guys explore the lore behind it all). I look forward to your new episodes every week.
Keep up the great work.
Limbo is my absolute favorite frame to play and also my favorite in terms of lore. Plus he has a top hat.
...and a rapier!
1.5 k views in the first 45 minutes of uploading? You boys are doing a great job I’m happy to be here and watch you grow as a channel
I’ve been looking forward to this all day!
I was so worried I missed the upload. Love you two! Amazing content and presentation ❤
If i remember correctly, when the Tenno were planning to betray the Orokin, they had planned to have Octavia's Anthem be the signal to start their empire spanning attack.
Game lore like this is always fun. I know it is not the channels main focus. But it is great to see this as well.
... Okay, attention caught by the title. I've been out of Warframe for a while, but curiosity's piqued.
Yay! I always love to see a Koda video!
Yeah, this will be really useful to frame the next war.
FINALLY MY MAIN VOLT GETS PRAISE!!!!
you have no idea how happy you made me koda
This is my first time watching you guys, and I will 100% be using this video (podcast episode?) to help people find who they think sounds cool. I especially liked how it tried to stay away from a meta-perspective (like tier-ing (S, A, B, ...) them and whatnot) and focused more on the lore (which I'm afraid to admit, as someone with 1-2k hrs (I don't actually know because my steam says over 2k but my wf profile says just over 1k) in the game as well, I don't really know the lore and so this was a cool video).
I saw another comment talking about the Leverians, which is a great place to get lore in the game as it tries to give the backstory to each frame in an interactive museum exhibit. That said, they don't have anywhere near every frame, as it's a relatively recent release (still a couple of years ago). It's accessed from your codex (opposite the market on your ship).
Also, I didn't know that Revenant had so much to them. It has given me a newfound appreciation for him, as he's generally a frame I use whenever I can't be bothered paying too much attention. (This is a joke, they probably encountered a chapter limit)
Rhino stomps so hard that he displaces gravity, and I love it😂
this was a good vid ill share with some friends to get them in!
I love the Boruk idea that is “the Pacifist that has Hands”
this was great! love to see more warframe stuff!
Hell yeah I know nothing about Warframe but let's go! Anything you guys post I'll watch
LET'S GOOOOOO
WE'RE SO FUCKING BACK
Oh man, now that you guys are venturing to other properties, I'd love you guys to delve jnto League lore since I know you guys are at least familiar with it.
I hope we get more Warframe content. You guys actually got me back into the game. Currently enjoying Sevagoth, Dante, Inaros and Gauss~
one of the first games i played when i finally got my pc. i have fond memories of trying to learn mouse and keyboard for the first time ever. even though playing this game made my fingers hurt at first, i will always remember this game fondly lol
Finally some more Warframe content let’s go boys.😺
150k subs. Congrats guys. You deserve it.
I literally just got back into warframe ladt night after a few years of a break I love yall made this
Koda you be sleeping on Lavos man his third ability allows you to turn both ammo and health/energy orbs into universal forms. As a Lavos main myself its one of the best support options in the game cause the ammo works on all guns, even the guns you normally have little to no extra ammo drop chance of getting.
Cool vid tho love seeing long form warframe content keep it up man.
OMG I FOLLOW YOU GUYS BCAUS WARHAMMER AND NOW YOU TALK ABOUT WARFRAME
I'm watching the video now (I'm 10:30 into it as of this section, I'm just going to add to this as a watch the video). I had the same thing happen to me as Isyander, I looked at all the frames first tho I didn't get a recommendation. I love the barbarian type of play style in games.
(I'm now at 15:42) I really like the demonstration of silence. Does that mean the viewer is an enemy for that example, or does that also affect allies? It's cool to hear the demonstration either way tho.
Lucio is actually a really good example. I do like how all the pseudoscience there is is just in overwatch to it's maximum, even tho music does actually have effects on everyone. If I remember correctly even people that are def can still be affected by it.
(I'm at 25:53) That Deluxe skin is absolutely beautiful.
(I'm at 28:57) ZA WARUDO!!
(I'm at 36:15) Ping pong "passive" is amazing, Koda I might use "critical mass of damage". I love that idea of actually having a critical mass of anything, like slaanesh had sin or how some black holes are believed to be made. That could be what rino does, just critical mass stomp.
(I'm at 49:19) I agree with Isyander
(I'm at 1:00:17) The multi punch man, MULTI PUNCH!
Have a good rest of y'all's day. If I need a part 2 of this comment I will add it to the reply section of this comment.
A correction for chroma, you can change his element by tapping his first ability. It will cycle, but is based on your appearance for what you start the mission as (if no color is close it will default to fire)
Was not expecting a warframe video, pleasant surprise
A thing to note about Chroma, they added the ability to cycle through all four elements he can use by tapping the spectral scream ability key. Your color only determines which element you start a mission with.
Putting this here to date things. I am about to sign up to the Patreon and start watching the backlog of content
your other warframe video got me to understand the game, even if I don't have the time to actually play enough of the game to get caught up to it
Its been so long since i played Warframe. The community I stay with right now has its ties in that clan way back. A happy 10 years.
I am so excited for Jade coming up the lore association with the Orokin is going to be so goooood.
You forgot to mention that if you have Atlas' augment mod the rumblers will encase themselves around him giving him a massive defensive boost while allowing him to use them as projectiles and giving you a ground-pound move that can petrify your enemies if they have no shields
If you guys wanted to you could talk about the Minators chapter or the "LOTD" Legion of the Damned, at some point ik lots of lore to cover but just to bring more variety to the videos lol based off of reactions of everyone. LOVE WHAT YOU TWO HAVE BEEN DOING KEEP GOING!!!!!! 4 TEHEMPRAH!!!!
I have always loves this channel, these guys are great. Maybe I'll try out Warframe
YEEEESSSSS more warframe knowledge! My favorite duo talking about my favorite game, love to see it.
Man does my girl zephyr need lore, though.
Mirage also has a "blinding, dazzling light" aesthetic for her abilities, like 40k Harlequins. She's amazing.
Heck yeah, you guys are the ones to get me into warframe
I am an Oberon main, LR4, love the game and the lore, love listening to yall doing warhammer stuff too, this is great!
Another thing about atlas is one of his augments is that instead of bringing up 2 rumblers he uses them to make himself rumbler buffing his attack and defense but lowering his movement.
Also after using the petrify skill killed ememis will drop fragments that atlas will equip and temporary armor buff.
Correction on Chroma; you can in fact toggle which element you use for Spectral Scream by tapping the button to switch.
Don’t know if it’s been mentioned or not, but if you talk with the infestation helminth in the infirmary as a Nidus, it will refer to you as master and speak with respect to you. A L S O, if you’re a new player and go to a public place with a Nidus (market or open world area) you’ll get an infestation pustule on the left side of your neck that you can get removed by Helminth. It doesn’t do anything it’s just a cool little visual thing
I do love hearing yall chat about something like this. I have zero interest in playing Warframe, but chats like this give me inspiration for other things! And also, warframe art is MAD STYLISH. Thank you two for being you as well!
I love the Xaku release art, even though they're holding Revenant's sword in it
I remember having a lot of fun with the Rhino and a big hammer. I tried to get back into it after some years but got confused from some newer tutorial things and all the changes they had made so quit. I should give it a go again
Hydroid is now meta after the buff, his dmg is insane and survivalbility are insane right now
Happy to see some Warframe content just hut my MR30 and happy for every hour I've put into it :)
I hope you guys do more warframe, and other things you guys like
I finally finished the New War, so I'm glad to see a helpful video to give me an idea where to start

So stoked to see a video where Koda is the lead! Would love to see a video where he nerds out on Dune Lore
Loki/Nidus Master Race here, and boy am I glad to see y’all talk about Warframe!
I did love Warframe but lost track of it a long time ago around when Rino prime got released, very cool to see all the new frames released.
Dude I just watch your warframe lore yesterday cause I'm a returned player in warframe, and golly I need another warframe video then I saw this and my thoughts were "I'll be damn !"
As someone getting back into warframe… amazing
I know nothing about warframe… so I am glad you guys explained something about it :)
Harrow is a great supportive warframe when it comes to energy farming and buffs you get from him, I also love his cult priest design so much.😺
As an Atlas main we are not a flamboyant or complicated bunch. We just wing haymakers at anything with a pulse, fire arms are for show, and the melee weapon is just a stat stick to feed into our fists.
Chroma has been changed. A while ago actually. Energy color no longer affects what his element is. Instead his spectral scream ability has two forms of activation. Tapping the ability, swaps the element of all his abilities through a rotation while holding the ability will use the breath weapon so now you don't have to be stuck with one element for the entire mission. A small change among many needed for him but a good change nonetheless.
For chroma you can change his element by hold casting his spectral scream
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ WOOOOP love that you guys dropped another one. I need friends to play warframe with. 😂 bought a rail jack a few years ago when they dropped and have NEVER used it
Gauss is always the answer for me, i can never get bored of mach rushing around the map especially once I learnt how to control it
The time gaited obtaining of the warframes is less of an issue later on because while your waiting there is a ton of things you can do including building other frames so you can have all the frames building at once if you have the resources 😊
Correction on chroma he can change elements by tapping the 1st ability now
I did a bit of a mischief when I picked up Dante. I *may or may not* have made him slightly Thousand Sons themed, but I do need to go back and color compare now that I have a new color set.
Ahhhh a warframe video?? Its different and as of now i am slightly sad its not a 40k video and have to wait another week. However I love the overall vibe of the show and you two play off each other very well, so ill give it a shot. However yall should still drop a 40k video this week on the yt channel.
Dude Mag was my jam in Warframe. Had her built to tank damage and dish it. Could use her ult to crush a room of enemies.
