I have argued with more than one ER Doctor (and actually got one to call my neurologist) over why really, really shouldn’t give me corticosteroids…or they’ll have a much bigger problem on their hand (a cycle of headache, give them meds, then get a WORSE headache (ocular hypertension)… becomes a big circle of a misdiagnosis/missed condition. I’m very lucky my vision is intact, much less as good as it is). I have found the question: “Would you rather risk blinding me or give me morphine and benedryl once for a headache?” (When they want to try a corticosteroid corticosteroids for migraines/cluster migraines). It all started with a migraine, then short term corticosteroids with Topamax. Said effects of pressure mimicked the headache and so forth until someone thought to look closely at my eye (it took them longer to do that than you’d expect ). I’ve found after ask that question (steroids or morphine), they kick you and labor you as a drug seeker (for pointing out something they didn’t know, or treat you at that point). I have found younger doctors are aware of what corticosteroids and migraine meds side effects. (or at least willing to look it up when you tell them about it). I did have a doctor say “there is no such thing as an allergy to Decadron” (steroid). My mom laughed and pulled it up in her phone. “Allergy”…no, but I’d say risking blindness and blinding eye pain on top of blinding eye pain is probably close enough.
I had a similar episode after taking prednisone.The eye doctors told me I will not feel if pressure is below 35 but I did.My eyes were paining at a pressure similar to yours.Previously my pressure was 20 and 20 , I have thick corneas.I don't know what my pressure is now after 2 years.I was supposed to see the eye specialist a second time after 6 months. My last reading was 23 and 24, which was according to him okay because of my 592 corneas.Also there wasn't any problems with the optical disc and everything looked okay them.Interesting to mention I also had a Posterior vitreous detachment after the prednisone and due to the increased pressure ,because I saw a lot of floaters that I never saw before,and I was only 46 then.Just realized it recently.The floaters are still present. I hope I don't have glaucoma , there is like a 6 % chance for me to have it after 5 years with my ocular hypertension. I try to do some natural things to help. Eat a lot of some small citrus fruits like clementines with the peel which has a lot of hesperidin in which lowers eye pressure and I drink billberries together with Pine bark extract. I recently got CDP Choline and also Nicotinamide Mononucleotide which I will start using now to reverse any possible damage if the cells didn't die yet.Green tea, Ginkgo biloba. But i didn't do this all the time, so I hope the times i didn't use it I was still okay and also hopefully the steroid induced hypertension lowered after 2 years.

I have hypothyroidism & autism. When I asked the eye doctor years ago how to lower the eye pressure they told me to talk to the thyroid doctor & vice versa with no real answers. All of this is stuffed I researched on my own & through the internet & basically just winging it. If you can tell me if there's anything I'm doing wrong or need to improve upon when it comes to lowering eye pressure I'd truly appreciate it. ✌️

I've heard that something called AC Carbamide helps naturally lower eye-pressure. I am taking a leap of faith and just dropped a hundred bucks on a bottle at Amazon. I don't have glaucoma, but something is causing pressure in my eyes and a slight narrowing of the ducts. I also have proptosis (bulging of the eyes) even though I don't have a thyroid issue, or Graves Disease. I have seen three different eye specialists in the last month, and still don't have a straight answer. I see a fourth doctor next week.

You might want to look into the importance of magnesium as a possible preventive for asthma attacks. It might be a place to begin searching for safer things to help.

Question everyone. I'm 51, never had above average eye pressure. My doctor started me on the Latanoprost. I feel like my eye sight has gone down hill the last few years. Had to get glasses again 15 years after lasik. I feel like the drops make my vision more blurry, i feel more tired too. Not sure that's related though. It's for glaucoma prevention
My opthalmologist didn't tell me anything except that I have glaucoma which is pressure on the optic nerve. She prescribed eye drops called Latanoprost and said I have to take them all my life.

I sprayed a decongestant into my left nostril. I did not know I had narrow angles. I experienced eye pain, nausea, and vomiting. It turned out to be drug-induced closed angle glaucoma. There was no warning on the decongestant that this can happen to people with narrow angles.

Get rid of Tuna immediately, very high in mercury which is toxic for the eyes . Sole fish ( flounder ) or sardines and grass fed beef and butter

I am not allowed to take any nasal sprays . or cortisone type medication. and also Asthma preventatives.

Did they say if inhalers that just have albuterol are safe? If not, I don't know what asthmatics could do for an asthma attack.

what essential oils, say, used in an aromatherapy misting device, can contribute to the increased eye pressure? It might be prudent to avoid those.

No.. it works differently ... they only alter the pupil size to increase light absorption (helps eye equipment scan our eyes)...
