Depending on the cop, window tint is good probable cause for a stop, for drug hunting and what not. Me, I’ll pull you over all day for tint but if you don’t have drugs and no warrants, you’ll be off with a warning. I had other plans, not making you pay for your tint. Only time I’d give it for tint is if the person is rude and gives me a hard time before i tell them they were getting a warning.

That's why I just use removable films, there's a bunch of Russian companies selling and shipping these worldwide. You just need to use google translate to find them.

I have a small area nearby to me that’s like that and strictly enforces every law. I got stopped for some bs and the judge waved everything for me when I went to court. There is several other people driving around with no insurance and whatever else that is highly illegal but proceed to get people for such minor violations rather then focus more on the more serious violators. I kid you not, I know someone that has a motorized bicycle because he can’t get a drivers license and on a fixed income. His bicycle does not go faster than 30MPH, the speed limit was 35MPH, he got a ticket for speeding on a bike that maxes out at 30 in a 35. The officer didn’t tell him the speed he was going, and still had to go to court.

I laughed a little too hard. I had a late model car with tint and some nice aftermarket rims. I was at a McDonald’s drive thru and a police officer was literally waiting in the parking lot just to pull me over for tint and having my license plate in the windshield (visible from all angles in the front). Officer said my plate was not visible. Better yet, there’s people in my area with tinted windshields, no insurance, etc that manage to get away with it.

I got a ticket for my 1% a few weeks ago. I had a spare clear window from a dented door I replaced, so went to the junk yard and got the other side window for $55. Swapped the windows out in 30min, and got the ticket dismissed for $10. Swapped the tinted windows back in a week later 😂. $65 was better than the $217 ticket

Bummer man. IMO this is how I think they should do the tint law -Have tint as dark as you like.....But.. If you get pulled over, you are too have windows rolled down, even in adverse weather....
Like most the south, it gets hot as hell here in TX and the sun is horrendous on the interior and the tint does help save the interior. And like you said, theres a pandemic going on and this officer wants to nail you for tint and risk the chances of viral transfer... I felt your disappointment on this dude..

Slavacado first of all, wouldn’t matter.. it’s a way most people with potentially illegal or “too dark” of tint get by many times as it is is upon being pulled over just roll down all windows before officer approaches on foot, even if he or she knows your tint is questionable the fact you are willing to do such an act so they can take a gander inside the car/truck/SUV/wagon and watever means they more likely to give you a break.
Also the fact that it exist as a rule or policy and law means will always be someone who breaks the rules and policies and laws.. reality is that statistically speaking, most good people break stupid laws like tint laws than bad guys do, and more bad guys this get away with shit because too busy bothering good people. Just because you have dark tint on your vehicle doesn’t mean you are suddenly out to run drugs and money for a cartel or some crazy shit it may litterally just be some guy or girl looking to shield themselves from the sun and to keep their interior from warping from insane heat. Or maybe I don’t know, someone wants privacy while driving maybe driving around with confidential documents or maybe just don’t wanna be seen out and about just wanna be in their own little darkened cocoon. Lot of people around here that have dark tint that I know personally including myself in a state that doesn’t allow dark tint, not one of my friends nor I are illegally transporting anything or have drugs on us Infact most people I encountered are doing it cuz it makes their cars look better. sure maybe the select few who do it litterally do they can hide their crimes but that shouldn’t negatively impact everyone else.
Tint policies and laws are literally just bait, hardly enforceable as well when take them to court on it, as most times you will win, as I do every single time with tint tickets. And plenty of people who speak of selective enforcement which basically negates it’s being an actual law If it’s only selectively enforced.

My local county cops rarely pull anyone over except for anything more serious than tint. I see tinted windshields everywhere in my area and the cops just keep on rolling by. Plus they have more important things worth doing to keep everyone safe
Been there myself over the years. Tores sticking out and exhaust loud, but the tint is the culprit lol. Since my 35% windshield tinting its been a little more often than before. But man I swear it is safer with the windshield done. No glare in the day and no headlamp brightness at night. The 20% strip over the top males it look like a 5% strip and helps, but the cut out at the inspection sticker is the ultimate giveaway lol. In PA, my window tint and offset wheel fines have been around $150.

The police chief of Baltimore publicly asked people to quit shooting each other during the Wuhan pandemic so they would have more available rooms in the hospital. You would think the state patrol in your state could have a moratorium on non lethal violations during the pandemic.

It makes sense why tints on the front are penalized so much, it can pose a risk to cops. Even in the UK we have to allow 70% of light through the front windows at least

Get a tint exemption waiver, one of the easiest things I've done. I know that shit sucks but you really cant be mad, it is a law after all.

Take a picture of your truck before the window tint and when you go up there to show them the old pictures and you can still keep your tint on and the ticket will be dropped

Here in Phoenix I've had windows tinted dark had them for a long time since my fist car. If I go out of town I always Get pulled over for window tint specially if I go to Vegas. It's always state trooper or highway patrol.

It’s dark enough to provide some shade and privacy but still light enough that the officers can see through the vehicle and see occupants

Got 5% but I'm a cop and our dept guy installed it so it helps but if I see cops I drop windows in front especially when out of area but also if I get pulled over I drop all windows even in the rain or snow and hands out the window at night I pop on my interior lights I make it as safe and easy for a cop because I know what a traffic stop can be and what goes threw ur head.

Only doing 50mpg. State trooper following behind me for awhile. Get off the parkway he is still following. Rite by the stable I get pulled over. Window tint violations give officers probable cause to stop the vehicle to check for more serious stuff. You have to work and so do the officers. Just have it tinted to 20% and they won't bother you. Anything lower than that than its your fault.
where do you live that the cops care about window tint? I have 5 percent on every window and 50 on the windshield and never get shit from the cops in my area

What seat covers do you have
Just tint them legal and buy some window screens or the tack on kind. I live in Texas and the best tint doesn't keep the sun's radiating heat from cooking me. I just went to Pep Boys and got a couple of static cling on, thick covers. It helped with the heat and you definitely can't see through it. Just put them on/ take them off as needed.

I have a question about your truck that has nothing to do with this video ... ok so I have a 2018 Chevy Silverado 1500 just like yours. When I’m pulling my bass boat at 65-70 mph and hit a hill that has some distance to it I get this small vibration. And from what I read online nobody knows how to fix it . Just wondering if you had any info on the situation ? A lot of people are having this problem or similar issues.
Take off the driveshaft and send it to a driveshaft shop, have them check for balance and see if it runs true. This seemed to fix a lot of people's Chevy shake according to the forums

I have no problems where I live either!! But when I go to a different county I ride with my windows down. A lot of trucks have tint where I’m from cops and state troopers usually don’t pull you over unless your driving fast or driving really crazy. I live in Alabama also
