- In this video i explain my method for drum tuning. i tuned my 12" Tom using Remo Drumheads. I have been a drum tech for many years, and over the years i have learned some tricks to help achieve optimal sound from my drums.
Love this man. I was a big pinstripe fan but when I switched to emperors….GAME CHANGER‼️
You’re a very great teacher. New sub!
Super great video man. Really good review resource. Much appreciated!
Awesome man. Very helpful. Been playing drums for a while now and still don’t have the tuning part down, especially for the reso heads.
Beautifuly explained, also mentioning how differently the mic will capture that sound, painfullt true sometimes.
great explanation man - this is fantastic tuning technique & information. Will be sending many people to this video!
Thank you!!!
Good job man, sounds super. Good tips (and yes, REMO 🙌🏻)
Also noticed something I believe also, is you dont have to go star pattern to get even tension, as long as you take small increments on the way up - which you’ve done. 👏🏻
Yesssssssir .Finally
Awesome 👏🏽
Can’t wait for that punchy kick video
Great video! Tons of gems 🤘🏽
🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Your tones always sound divine
I tune all my drums the same! Snare , toms, kick. Tighten the resonant head tight as the Lord allows and tighten the batter head to the feel of the drum stick or beater!!
Amazing bro 🇧🇷
Awesome
Great vid 👍 thank you
Love your video man. I’m curious to know if you have found any organic correlations been tuning to the drum and tuning with a tune bot please? Thanks heaps
*Can you do the snare next ?!!*
Thank you!!!
Awesome video. Just curious as to what mics you are using?
Thank you I’m using SE electronics
Hey Andwele I noticed you have your rack tom and floor tom mics set higher than lower towards the shell. Does that placement make a difference cause most drummers place the mics really close to the head almost touch but not quite!
And another question is which Sonor kit do you have cause that one sounds good too but definitely not as good as the DW. Thanks and thanks for your videos very helpful brother
Hey thanks David! I was experimenting with them to get rid of some sympathetic humming I could hear in my mix… that’s the only real reason.
I’m playing a Sonor select force Canadian Maple. It’s a mid level kit but sounds great!
Thank you, much needed! Quick question, when tuning each head and muting the other, how do you when you’ve reached the best tone for the drum?
You will start to hear the drum head sing… resonating well. But if you want the pitch of the drum higher, start at the reso side.

Hey what is up? Blah ha ha. Can you help me tuna fish? Seriously, we've met at your place thanks to our friend kijiji. Nice job. I recall you saying you used the touchmix which I am thinking of getting. you still happy with that puppy? Also, are these in tune? ua-cam.com/video/24eD9ybQLik/v-deo.html
