Our numbering system is a tad different, but the angles are the same. We also do 7-1 and 5-11. But for basic weapon drills this is great stuff for people with no access to Kali.
The numbering or alphabet that I learned from the Inosanto Academy in 1992 with one of its student instructor (Vince Perez Mazola) and then on site in 1994 in Marina Del Rey with Ron Balicki, was different. Diagonals were one and two, horizontal strokes were 3 and 4, five was the central peak, 6 another central peak going up, 7 another central peak from the centre outward and so on with remontant diagonals and verticals. But the first 5 remain the most frequent fundamentals. But why not speak on a same angle to counter with a movement that retracts, ie a movement that returns to its starting position; the difference between "witec" and "laptec"?
Yes, I learned the series from Guro back in the early ‘90s. It’s not possible to cover the entire series in a single video, but we may add more to the set in future releases. This video is simply an introduction to the drill.
