  • Been using the Nano texture glass on iPad Pro M4 for over a month. How does it stack up against the Standard glass vs Paperlike Screen Protectors?

I’ve got the 2TB 13” nano textured and genuinely if you listen closely there is that friction sound, the pencil Pro also works so seamless with it with your hand sticking to the screen, I now don’t need to use a glove as the nano display literally is much smoother than the gloss option, plus this is biased you genuinely wouldn’t notice if you didn’t which most people can’t afford 2 M4 to compare side by side, I watch Netflix on mine and it’s still outstanding, I’ve used it in extremely difficult conditions and the nano display still worked tremendously, I have an ESR magnetic paper like protector for my previous 12.9” iPad Pros and yes they are good for the first 10/15 times till it becomes scratched, difficult to place on the screen, even travelling with it and trying not to get dirt or bend it is just far to much hard work, genuinely guys the nano textured display is being given way to much bad reviews, I think it’s the expense deep down that’s the issue, the screen looks stunning, practically zero fingerprints, looks very aesthetic gives the iPad that expensive illusion, and as for the glare well mine has literally been facing the sun as it sets and it still works fantastic, there’s some online proof it’s actually more stronger than the glossy screen and no it won’t eventually ware down the it’s etched into the screen itself which goes to show how Apple can justify charging such prices for devices,so to wrap this up, if your into art, use a matte screen protector and need that perfect drawing experience then buy the nano display, you won’t even notice the difference between it and the standard glass display unless you are some OCD person but so far I reach for my M4 rather than my 6th Gen 12.9” iPad Pro as screen adapts to the lighting conditions literally constantly

For an artist that might apply, but for my use cases I wouldn’t partially sacrifice the sharpness and contrast of the OLED panel, along with gaining annoying side effects like a green-violet noise on bigger white areas. You also mentioned it “adapts“ to the lightning conditions which it exactly doesn’t, if you shine a bright light at the nano textured display it will distribute the light on the entire screen and drastically reduce the contrast, which makes it useless for people like me, that need to see exact colors due to video editing and other color-managed workflows. As long as I‘m not planning to work in broad daylight this doesn’t make any sense for me.

@@admiraladmirablyi do agree, I’m not a professional artist or sit in a studio where glare becomes a huge problem, but from a friend who chose the glossy they found it sticky whereas he simply offered to swap plus cash for my nano version he like myself found it very smooth and when he hooked it up to his set up at home your using that nano as a kind of sample and then the Max as the outcome, nothing ever will beat oled, in a tablet but since I’ve had my nano model it’s kind of wore in and it’s still something I would choose anyway over anything, sometimes when I’m at the park I’ll see something interesting and draw, go home put it onto my MacBook Pro or pair it up with my Samsung monitor which is oled and yes it comes out more inky black and really brightens those darker shades I still feel the nano does it to a certain point, I’ve also seen what magnets the glossy screen is to oily hands and vs the nano it’s the nano out on top, I would never use my jumper or T-shirt to just wipe clean the screen I’ve always maintained my older M2, M1 and 3rd generation iPad in impeccable condition which Apple I believe thinks its customers are that dumb they would purchase only Apple cloths to wipe the nano display, but to be really honest I wiped my painting glasses with the nano cloth and I was blown away this year has been the most indecisive year for choosing an iPad something Apple are to blame for, basically putting people back into the school and say my device is better because it cost more or my device is better because it’s glossy, Apple got it so wrong this year all for a mere $100 cost in glass

I hear that argument about losing contrast with nano glass. But here's the thing: In most environments, smooth glass loses contrast by reflecting light.

How do you like the 13” 2tb iPad Pro? That’s the exact iPad Pro I want to get (2tb - nano texture - WiFi+cellular)

People talk about the texture messing with the contrast. But you nailed the point that most the time using an iPad, you've got ambient light causing a reflection, which more than dims the contrast on a glossy scream.

I use my iPad for landscape architecture on a daily basis. I’ve bought the nano texture 1TB and I love it. The screen feels amazingly soft on your fingers, and the drawing experience is just fantastic. Way better then with a paperlike protector. Image quality with nano is also a lot better then through a plastic protector as you can imagine. For me the upgrade from 8 to 16 Gb memory is also important, since I get more layers to work with in my drawing apps of choice.
If you use your iPad for professional design work get the nano display, it’s a no-brainer.

I do like the feel of the nano texture but If still lean towards the glossy finish for media consumption and creation

Tbh when your in the dark it looks exactly the same as the glossy not only that you can’t only see it as clear when your in light because it distributes light evenly and it’s better for drawing so I’m going with nano texture

@@jaearmy7444 Tbh it was even mentioned in the video that glossy finish has better contrast, plus it has the option of screen protector (there are even some on the market made for drawing, paper feel)

So when you get the nano glass you don’t have to put a glass break on top of it?

I’d definitely consider the nano texture for the iPhone, hopefully the 16 pro has this upgrade!

lol right and carry a cleaning cloth everywhere and worry about scratching it easily cause you can’t really put a screen protector on the nano glass. Nano-texture in a pocket device is a big No unless they can mitigate the easy scratch

Gongratulations for video ! No money is the problem, i can’t decide nano vs glossy on ipad pro M4 2tb,5G. The nano scratch very easy? I plain to put in magic keybord. Can scratch with my fingai nails? All my ipads have zero scratches on case adn glass protector screen. I’am tired also the reflections !! The only reason to updrade is the oled screen. On normal bedroom the blacks shows blacks? I spend 3.200€ + extras. Who recomended for me? Regards, sorry for my english

"nano". basically a matt finish. smh. by the way i love the reflections it makes the iPad feel premium in my opinion. So in the matte finish the colors are washed out, this alone it is enough for anyone not to buy it.

It all depends on why you have the iPad. If you are a designer, draw on the iPad and need a paperlike protector on the screen the nano finish really is a 1000 times better. Clearly you are not a designer :-)
