I also went to an Iron Maiden / Ozzy show and Ozzy canceled but still got to see Maiden.Ozzy was sick with flu. I have a close friend named John Mobley by the way. LOL!! 1 letter difference to yours.

I was playing in a band called Raven back then. A small venue called Stage 1 in LA. Marq was a nice guy. Very talented.

Once a year or so they would reunite but he had to sue the others as they tried to steal the name.ted temoleman was their manager/producer same as van halen. I had the pleasure of spending some time with Marq when he toured a few years ago. A good friend of mine was playing bass for him. He still has an amazing voice, he's still in great shape, and he can still shred a guitar. I found a cd while we were on the road that contained a song done by Marq Torien - he covered Bon Jovi's Livin' On A Prayer. I took the cd into his room and he said he'd never heart it. I sat with him as he heard the song for the first time. Cool stuff.
Not only does this rock really hard, but it really pays homage and respect to the original O'Jays tune of the same name. Worth checking out if you're of a mind - imagine the "disco/funk/gospel" version of this tune, and you're close! Plus it has the very excellent Anthony Jackson playing his flanged-out bass on the track.
I saw them in Santa Monica, CA! Awesome! My first metal concert! If I recall, it was at the community college there! The lead singer instantly reminded me of David Lee Roth. Please take it as a compliment! That was around, 1989 or so. They were very entertaining I thought! My youth revisited just watching this video. As the great show said; "those were the days!" +Freedom Guru I remember that there were a lot of comparisons made between him and David Lee Roth's style (as if DLR was the only one allowed to be to add a lot of screams throughout a song). But this really seemed to hurt them with a lot of people. Though in hindsight, Marq can out sing DLR and just about anyone else that's ever been in the business.
I bought my Bullet boys vynil record at a record store called Strawberries at a mall called West Farms Mall in West Hartford, Connecticut in 1990. It was one of my favorite albums. Sadly I lost it when I moved to Florida a year later. It's a pity that the store I bought it at as well as the glam metal era are both gone. It sure brings back the memories, a feeling of nostalgia and sadness since it's an era that we will never have again. The music of today just plain sucks.
They are so underrated in the mix of other bands of the era. I remember a lot of people coming comparing Marq to David Lee Roth with his range and stage presence. Saw them in concert and can confirm that they can hang with the best of them.

@@briangilmartin692 I was 11 and had just stared 6th grade. Loved all this music. I'm 44 now and I listen to this stuff all the time. This music is timeless to me. It was a different world then.

+Freedom Guru I remember that there were a lot of comparisons made between him and David Lee Roth's style (as if DLR was the only one allowed to be to add a lot of screams throughout a song). But this really seemed to hurt them with a lot of people. Though in hindsight, Marq can out sing DLR and just about anyone else that's ever been in the business.

I bought my Bullet boys vynil record at a record store called Strawberries at a mall called West Farms Mall in West Hartford, Connecticut in 1990. It was one of my favorite albums. Sadly I lost it when I moved to Florida a year later. It's a pity that the store I bought it at as well as the glam metal era are both gone. It sure brings back the memories, a feeling of nostalgia and sadness since it's an era that we will never have again. The music of today just plain sucks.

Marq had an incredible voice...
They are so underrated in the mix of other bands of the era. I remember a lot of people coming comparing Marq to David Lee Roth with his range and stage presence. Saw them in concert and can confirm that they can hang with the best of them.
