Great reaction. Welcome to Jinjer. Tatiana is a vocal goddess and the band is amazing. Just saw them in Toronto, they are an excellent live band. I recommend "Perennial" live at Wacken 2019 as a follow up reaction. Good job. (Subbed)
Tatiana Shmayluk, vocal goddess. She can do this with reggae, rap, the blues, etc…The drummer Vlad is a classically trained pianist. Four extraordinary artists from Ukraine.
I love the reactors faces when they hear this song for the first time, especially when Tatiana reveals her talent. Jinjer and the muscians are awesome. Tatiana is amazing. Growls are second to none. Try out "Someone's Daughter ". The band puts on a display. To me it is a musical masterpiece 🤘🤘🤘
Tatiana is a beautiful beast on stage. Seen them twice in Los Angeles and they didn't disappoint. They even took time to take pics and talk to the fans after the show. Top tier musicians. You're going to love this journey
Jinjer has been my favorite metal band for 7 years now, I have never had a favorite band ever hold my attention like this one before. When it comes to hitting musical home runs Jinjer has been my go to band. A band like this comes around maybe every 20 years.
Welcome!!! I've seen Jinjer live a couple of times in Texas clubs thus far. '19 and '22. They are best experienced/heard live. 🤘I'm a 58 year old rock musician and Jinjer is my favorite band from this century. Period! 💙💛
Pisces represents duality, and so does her voice. This song- from the time signatures (four in the first 1m10s) to the layers to the cohesion and compliments of each instrument to each other- is a masterpiece.
They are from Donetsk in eastern Ukraine, part of the territory annexed by Russia in 2014. Her name is Tatiana, and yes that is all her. lol. She is mostly self taught, and can switch vocal styles easily. Otep and Randy Blythe (Lamb of God) are big harsh vocal influences, for cleans she is a Gwen Stefani fan. It's not grit, and she doesn't use the vocal chords. They are false cord growls, using the false vocal folds. Nobody expects that. That's why this song is usually recommended to introduce them. This live session is a redo of an older song, done in order to showcase Vlad on drums, who had joined not long before this. He is classically trained on piano and self taught on drums. He, Roman on guitar, and Eugene on bass, are all outstanding musicians. they write the music, and Tati writes most of the lyrics. Though Eugene helped her on this song, as both of them are Pisces in astrology, the symbol for which is 2 fish swimming in opposite directions. 4 albums, and several EP's to date. 2 songs are out too from the upcoming 5th album. ("Someone's Daughter" and "Rogue"). Often listed as metalcore, they do use that, but also use prog, djent , groove metal, with jazzy, and sometimes Reggae switchups. Basically a multi genre band. According to their website, they were formed in 2009, but consider 2010(wiki says 2008/09) as the official start when Tati and Roman joined. None of the original members remain. The audio on this live wasn't the best at this Wacken 2019 festival, but you can still tell she is awesome. They were scheduled first on at like 11 a.m., but went on late due to the sound guys having issues. Most of the set was iffy to, as you see, but they finally figured it out, or close, for the last song "Perennial" , which is often the next step in the Jinjer journey for reactors. Please do check out that song. As well as other songs like "Teacher Teacher" , "Home Back", "Vortex", "Judgment (and Punishment"
I am Eastern European too this is so awesome man!!! Thank you very much for the break down ... oh wow I noticed little sound live was iffy but they still sounded absolutely epic...Thank you very much for the suggestion I will check out PERENNIAL, TEACHER TEACHER , HOME BACK, VORTEX and Judgment ... In my opinion, the best introduction to the band is titled Jinjer | Audiotree From Nothing. It's just under 24 minutes in length, and includes fascinating interview sections interspersed by 3 incredible live in-studio performances of 3 excellent songs from their last studio album, 2021's Wallflowers. Cheers!
Tatiana is a monster bro. Check out her solo singing Crime and Punishment. She gets from clean to harsh vocals so easy and destroys it both like its nothing. Even live-amazing. That girl is something special for sure. The whole band is talented but Tatiana is special
Bas ću da pogledam par pjesama od ovog benda! Njen glas me iznenadio i nisam mislio da može lako da promjeni stil glasa na brzinu! Čekam novi mikrofon ! Doce sutra i onda dosta više muzike dolazi!
Awesome reaction! It's great that you decided to go straight into a live performance just to solidify in your mind that she really can do live what she appears to be able to do in the studio. FYI, the live session has been out for about 7 years, and the band has been active (with plenty of personnel changes) since about 2009. They - the current lineup especially - are an incredibly talented bunch of musicians creating incredible works of art in a genre their bassist has called "progressive groove metal". You have hardly scratched the surface!
This and Babymetal's Gimme Chocolate are still the best for watching WTF? reactions! Gorgeous song and a great introduction to Tatiana's unique vocal powers. Superb live. Slava Ukraine!
Welcome to the rabbit hole! Love the double feature - definitely keep them coming as their music videos have a lot of thought put into them, and then live they just fucking go off 🤘🏻
Haha! Brilliant! That was the most appropriate face in the first chorus. Loved this reaction. Subbing for more, because I'm sure you'll want to come back to this band.
I saw Jinjer last summer when they headlined a show on an off day during their tour with Disturbed. As an opener for Disturbed they only had a 6 song set, while I got to see a tremendous 14 song performance. It was the best show I saw in 2023. I will be seeing them again in a couple of weeks with Hanabie as one of the opening bands. You really need to see them on this tour if possible. If you want to do another double reaction, I suggest the song Judgment (& Punishment). First do Tatiana's one take vocal performance and then a live performance from the whole band. @@dejzmi7089 In the 2019 Wacken set, the band had a lot of stage mix issues throughout that were only really sorted out by the last song (Perennial). This is why Tatiana was a little flat in places in Pisces - she couldn't hear herself properly.
The last song of that Wacken set (Perennial) is one of their best live cuts. It was done in a more professional quality than this one. Their video Pit of Consciousness Live in Kyiv will also impress you. You really can't go wrong with any of their official videos.
Do Perennial live at Wacken 2019 next. From the same gig. It's next to Pisces and closes the set. During the whole set Tatiana couldn't her herself in the in ears. Only for Perennial this is fixed and it became a stellar performance.
I know i posted this on your Hanabie reaction on Saturday. They are touring with Jinjer. It is a must-see show. Sadly, this song was not on their playlist last Friday, but maybe it will be when they play near you...well if they are
Yes sir!!! this would be awesome to hear live!!! The vocals on this are absolute insanity... I don't know how she can do those growls and it almost at one point felt live overtones !!!

There it is. Another soul snatched up by the great Tati and hung on the wall in her very large trophy room where she sits and smiles softly while sipping her morning smoothie.
