Kanami actually had both Dany and Saiki sing in a slightly higher register than their normal singing voices. That both ladies could readily adjust to that just shows additional talent. Both bands got along very well. The actual live performance was much better but has not been released.

Was lucky enough to be at their joint concert in Tokyo where they live debuted this song. Me & GF flew 6,000 miles from oHio to Japan! We spent 10 days in Japan. We stayed 5 days in Kyoto & Tokyo each with day trips to Osaka & Himeji. Was an amazing concert & trip! Was an experience we both will cherish forever! Really hoping that they release an official live video of this from that concert too! Both bands are big fans of each other. You mentioned better head-phones - as an intermittent step I'd suggest having a look to see if you can find the frequency curve for them - the db/(m)W - and either use your audio software's equaliser (or d/load one) to add/subtract where needed to balance out the actual audio you hear. Not as good as studio/monitor 'phones, but it can make a BIG difference!

Yup, that’s my take on it too. For the band their inspiration was ‘The Poughkeepsie Tapes’ a movie about found-footage but yes, the lyrics have general power, control & manipulation vibes as well. This is the 1st single of their forthcoming 2nd EP (the other tapes at the end hint at the other songs?). Their 1st EP ‘Thrones’ is a spectacular debut with a wide range of songs. ‘Daughters of Witches’ goes hard as well, ‘Broken Glass’ really showcases Arias awesome bass & as a sucker for B&W ‘80s power ballads ‘One Left Standing’ is my favorite🥰. & yes, Jonah the Destroyer truly lives up to his name on the drums.

I have been to more than 300 concerts in Japan and the Passcode concerts are definitely the wildest, there are bodies flying everywhere and the whole crowd bounce non-stop, it is absolutely fantastic.

Seeing them live once is definitely not enough. I've been to one concert and I still barely know what everyone on stage is doing. This is doubly true if Ata, bass (Knock Out Monkeys), is performing with them that day. He loves to be a back up dancer even when he is performing with them. 🤣 Fun fact: all of PassCode's songs are written/arranged/produced by the guy that is also their manager Koji Hirachi.
