I lived in Florida for 30 years. I never understood why people chose to stay first of all. I don't own a damn thing that is worth my life. Then the guy that said they didn't have enough time to gather their 'stuff'. No... leave your stupid stuff... get in your damn car and LEAVE.

I lived in Florida 40+ years, though I moved out last year. My family still lives there in central Florida. Your reaction is so overblown and feeds hysteria and hate for Floridians, perpetuates Florida man memes. In 40 years - basically 80% of my whole entire life, I lived primarily in Central Florida and was in NO danger. Only time was Charlie. It blew over. My apartment complex had a few shingles missing. I stayed for Charlie and it was the biggest risk but I needed to make sure I could get to my family’s business with ALL my family’s lifesavings invested in it. You better be sure I would GUARD that. You saying no amount of money is worth it? It’s a over exaggeration and a LIE. If homeless your family will not only die but die slow and painfully in these USA. No, I wouldn’t take that chance. I chose to protect my business. Because if destroyed, my whole family would have been homeless and destitute with likely no way to climb out of the massive business loans we undertook. And as soon as passed, I went to clean up the half inch of water or so. The damage I mitigated? Definitely was worth the risk of me staying there. You’re simply WRONG in my case. Let’s say 100 people will die from this. Out of the millions who chose to stay, the statical chances of most people dying in this? Likely similar to hitting a $10,000-$100,000 prize in a lottery. I guarantee millions of Floridians stayed behind and are fine. Your statements as all YT statements need so many caveats, and “but if’s.” If you live in Central Florida? 99.999% of time, no, you don’t need to get out. You’d likely have more chance of dying on the highway taking all your family members with ya on the mass exodus, squirming to find a rest area to pee than you would in the hurricane. If everybody left, chances are great you’d be stuck out on the highway and chances of you getting hit by the hurricane while in the car probably not too different than staying in your home. Instead of acting hysterical and buying all the bottled water and instant food and toilet paper(like latecomer New Yorker migrants who don’t even know how to drive in rain) and screaming sky’s gonna fall, look at it logically. If you’re not on the path there’s no reason to leave, and you’d just be contributing to the mass traffic congestion of those who should leave. The fact of the matter is the guy you’re complaining about LIVED, and didn’t use up all the gasoline in his car to contribute to CO2 to cause more global warming. Even though, yeah, he was in a place where he should have evacuated, clearly he meant path wasn’t supposed to hit him, but swerved last minute. You’re just being deliberately difficult to try to not understand. Just saying, lots of situations where evacuation isn’t necessary. People on comments don’t seem to realize. And not only Florida, but the whole world is now in more danger from weather. Look around. Dead fish in Europe, record 500 year drought, China drought, Somalians dying of hunger worst since probably Ethiopians in 80%. Russia fires larger than all forest fires in world combined, record flooding in Seoul, Korea, India too droughts. There is nowhere anymore that’s safe either. So all those people saying why would ya live in Florida, why would ya live where you’re at? Why would ya get out of bed? A falling plane could crash your roof and kill ya. It’s life.

I used to live in Florida. Many people don't take the hurricane news seriously when they say to evacuate, because the majority of people there have been through a lot of hurricanes, including myself, and the news in the past has often made it sound worse than it would be. • @thetechnicanwithaheart1682

These people that moved here they knew the danger they took the risk and sadly I don't feel for them. Disasters happen because people build in the paths of hurricanes. 100 years ago this beach was probably absent of any kind of infrastructure. I just want to re-read it to everybody here that climate change is pushing planet Earth to another mass extinction. Humans Humanity governments corporations have not listened to what the climate scientists have been warning us for the last 40 plus years. Carbon dioxide emissions that are emitted from the tailpipe of our cars Planes Trains buses ships military equipment burning of coal oil and natural gas in power plants are basically pushing so much carbon dioxide into the atmosphere it is overheating planet Earth. Humans are emitting 100 times the level of carbon dioxide then what occurred 55 million years ago during the Paley scene eocene thermal maximum that pushed planet Earth into a mass extinction. I'm a very rare Myers-Briggs intj baranona is The Mastermind and the architect and I have studied paleoclimatology I have evidence showing the effects of carbon dioxide emissions. All that data was extracted from thousands of deep ocean core samples that recorded paleo atmospheric conditions millions and millions and millions of years ago. Also in the Arctic, when planet Earth was overheating due to carbon dioxide emissions from volcanic activity, the total carbon emissions emitted was between three to seven trillion tons of carbon dioxide over a period of 5 to 10,000 years. That gave most tropical plant life time to migrate North into the Arctic. Scientists have found petrified evidence of a subspecies of the modern-day North American alligator in the Arctic. They found petrified evidence of tropical Palm fronds. They found other evidence of other tropical plant species. Based on the core samples extracted from the deep ocean exploration program they estimated that the Paleo atmospheric temperatures in the Arctic during the middle of winter we're roughly between 70 to 75° Fahrenheit. The temperature is at the equator reached 105° f. Anybody that's reading this I'm extremely serious I've researched this extremely in-depth I've researched climate change and interviewed briefly senior climate scientist. Some of them are actually quite famous because they have been in front of the camera telling the consequences of humanity that burning coil oil and natural gas has overheating planet Earth. Dr James Hansen The Godfather of the word global warming, in 1988 he sat before the United States Senate. He said that basically global warming has been detected and that planet Earth is overheating. Based on computer models which were off unfortunately by 30 years, he predicted that planet Earth would see an increase in more severe hurricanes, larger and more deadly and destructive flooding events, stronger and more intense heat waves and increasing Global drought. Scientists were unfortunately off by 30 years they predicted these events would occur summer around the 2050s. But based on some recent charts I discovered on NASA, the Earth especially the world's oceans started to overheat roughly around 1990 and especially in the year 2000. Ocean temperatures are on the rise and haven't been this way probably for millions and millions of years. Last year a record 17 * 10 to the 22nd Jewels heat energy that's j o l e s not jewels was absorbed in the world's oceans. That is equivalent of five Hiroshima thermal nuclear bombs per second. Every year that heat energy is going up. And it is causing the seriousness of climate change that is impacting humans across planet Earth. Humans are suffering from the effects of climate change. It is estimated that upwards of a billion humans will eventually die or be displaced and migrate North away from the equator

We couldn't convince him, by visiting him, because we live in California.. Now he is complaining about not having any electricity. He would have had electricity if he would have stayed in a motel, or with family, which live in Miami.... 🤷🏻‍♀️

Audrey, He probably didn't. DeSantis' cabinet doesn't look very diverse, either, but I'm glad he protected people's jobs during covid.

We have our family in USA, Arkansas, little rock.
They passed through this type of horrible weather.
Our family passed a very hard time where they lost all.
We would pray for all the family in such a distress and may God bless them and give them courage.
    Long live 🇺🇸

I do feel sad over the loss of lives and the families displaced. Not everyone has the means to run and afford to stay somewhere. After Andrew and Katrina, you would think people that could would have listened and evacuated.

I feel so spoiled being in Southern California at least for it's weather. That's terrible and I can't imagine what some people lost after spending their entire life building it.

Your sitting on a fault line, about to run out of water right before you might have to make a decision of your kids baby pics or the dog before your house burns down. Enjoys that great weather.

@@whiteheart6827 California isn't perfect nor did I say that. Your right about the fault line and water....but the weather. You quite literally can't beat it. There's only a few spots in the world with our climate
