I almost took a job in Naples last month but they accidently sent me an email saying I didn't get the job and spent my moving savings on fixing my car so when they did contact me again I couldn't go. I would have been living in a camper right on the coast with no where to go if I took that job...
God’s blessing was laid upon you.
Everything happens for a reason...guess this reason was saving your life potentially. So glad that happened and you didn't take the job and are safe.
it takes money to evacuate. Try not to judge people who decide not to leave. They may not be able to do so.
also a good point. but maybe there was something set up for them to call.
I didn't leave and I'm fine. I knew it wouldn't be that bad.
@@hm3drake35 ok for you but how about everyone else who got affected
@@supremekingowl9350 just like moving, it's costs $$$MONEY$$$ to evacuate, and people can't afford it.

This storm never weakened like they thought it should. Almost like the storm was denser than they realized and kept its shape after colliding with the jet stream…it just bounced off instead of getting sheared apart at the upper levels. I’d hate to be those guys when they are wrong or even just simply not close enough.
No it was not cause it was more dense. The storm was expected to go more west around the panama region which would of caused it to weaken cause of the sheer and dry air but it instead went more east into the Tampa Bay area
Lol why don't you look up how many hurricane hunter flights and military flights when through around or over top of the hurricane and get a clue.
The European system had it going East from day one. The US has it going West.. That's why the prediction cone was so huge. But Mother Nature is not something that should be predicted. It will take its own natural route and no person is to blame.
@@ambersykora352 you seem like a happy human.

I'm now thankfully living in my native State of Colorado.
At least DeSantis isn't attaching people to kites.
I know a lot of people in Fort Myers who refused to leave their homes. My Dad spent several hours sitting in his car with our 2 Shih Tzus on an overpass before being directed by phone to a safer location under a nearby gas station awning. That house is the last place my mom was. She died a year ago. He didn’t want to leave. And now he has likely lost the house or at least everything in it that reminded him of her. He’s heartbroken.
Saving a house no matter the condition is not as important as saving his life.
@Timothah Molone my father is not an immigrant, nor was my mother. And if you are referring to the boatload of +20 people who are likely dead…. Sure they were immigrants, they could have been sent back. They didn’t deserve to die.

It would be awesome if DeSantis spent the last few months focusing on the state's storm preparedness instead of wasting time and taxpayer dollars kidnapping and trafficking asylum-seekers from Texas to Massachusetts. Floridians could use the $12k+ per trafficked asylum-seeker for storm relief right about now. Thankfully FEMA exists and has the resources ready to rapidly deploy to communities in need. Also since Democrats are in charge of FEMA, the leader of the agency is a qualified emergency management professional, and not the former president of an Arabian horse association. Never forget Katrina, and the deadly failures of conservative "leadership" leading up to, during, and in the aftermath of the storm.
Why does NBC have Lester in this hurricane? Some newbie should be in those winds with Lester cozy in the studio asking questions from a screen.
This is the end of Florida homeowners insurance and the Florida home market. A good portion of these homes will go un repaired due to the poor nature of Florida homeowner's insurance. Combined that with the egregious price of Florida real estate and this is going to end badly.
Insurance companies saw this coming, that's why prieums have been going up
i hope it doesn't end that badly. but i am afraid that you're right.
@@jamesricker3997 homeowners insurance premiums have skyrocketed due to roofing contractors, natural disasters (including hurricanes), and fraud (Florida has a very high amount of insurance fraud).
Auto premiums have gone up because the price of vehicles has risen, population increases, and the cost to repair or replace vehicles.
Homeowners insurance is almost impossible to write anymore and a large percentage wind up being insurned by Citizens which is a state owned insurance company to insure high risk homes.
Over the last few years homeowners insurance companies have been pulling out of Florida or going bankrupt. This was exacerbated by COVID and the fallout of COVID such as hyperinflation.
This will put at least a few major insurance companies in serious jeopardy of major losses which will tighten their likely hood of more homeowners being referred to Citizens giving the government a monopoly over homeowners insurance.
My fiance is an insurance agent. I do marketing in and around the insurance industry.
Insurance companies and real estate agents know the risks of the Florida Market.
The opposite will happen. Massive government loans start a new real estate boom.
I bet the Cajun Army will be helping. Love those people ❤️
They are already pre deplored. Bringing their food 🥘 relief too.
Governor Said they are on the way
Cajun Navy.
Did DeSantis airlift any actual Floridians or does he explore that option only when below human immigrants are concerned?
Praying for everyone’s safety!
what does praying accomplish?
Why pray? Prayer has never, ever worked. It never will work.
@@hm3drake35 If it doesn't work for you, fine. Why do you have to ask, it just sounds like more of your unending ignorance. If it helps people just leave it at that.
And my employer in Jacksonville INSIST we go to work Thursday, Friday, and Saturday even though our clients and miles west away.
You tell him you have a hurricane over your heads till Friday/ Saturday am. This storm still at a Cat 2 in south central Florida. You all aren’t going anywhere, it’s mandatory hunker in place until okay given. Ask your boss f he’s going to pay for your ticket issued to you if found on the roads. Only medical personnel reporting to hospitals should be on the roads. And most of them were called in to be available before storm hit. Call officials of Duvall County and report it. That’s where Jacksonville is at? Duvall?
Did I hear that right? A tornado ripped the roof off an apartment complex in Delray Beach? Delray Beach is on the EAST coast of Florida, directly opposite where Ian made landfall.
What a monster.
I hope everyone is doing well in Florida everyone be safe much love god bless
I know it’s a scary time but you gotta admit, hurricanes happen like all the time in Florida. People should know by now to not stay there when there’s a storm, like at least go to a shelter nearby
Floridians offer Desantis as a sacrifice to the sear and the storm will leave you alone!
Central Florida, aligned on the west with Tampa I think. Slow down, still dumping rain like crazy. Expect maybe 20”rain along pathway

God almighty have mercy on us
It's not up to God, it's up to US. WE created climate change and WE have to fix it. Start by electing officials who will actually DO something about (rather than deny it exists and do nothing about it because they get MONEY for doing nothing about it). DEMAND better. If we can't help ourselves, God won't help us. He expects you to help yourself first. SO DO IT in the voting booth. And, by the way, why is God always a MALE???? Such a misogynistic religion.
Amen

Amplified Bible
I sought the LORD [on the authority of His word], and He answered me, And delivered me from all my fears. Psalms 3:4
Please get yourself a KJV and throw that horrible version away.
Thanks, but of what help is this to the people of Florida?? They may have sought the Lord, but he didn't do much for them, did he???? Not that climate change is his fault (it's OURS), but God isn't out there "fixing" it (at least not to my knowledge--that's up to us and so far, Americans vote for people who don't want to do a thing about climate change, including many in Florida). Sorry, but religious platitudes fall very short as far as I'm concerned. If you want to help these people, stop quoting Bible verses to them and provide them with food, water, and safe shelter until they can safely return home. Stop talking and ACT.
The reporter looked like he was smiling..
WHILE GROWING UP MOM MA ALWAYS SAID, DON'T BUILD YOUR HOUSE NEAR A RIVER. OR CLOSE TO A BEACH FROUNT. IMAGINE THAT 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣
This happens literally every freaking year have people not learned to stop freaking living at these places!
Not everyone has the means to uproot to somewhere else.
That's a ridiculous thing to say. Every area has its particular weather threats.
This is a silly comment. Most places in the United States have different weather problems similar to this (tornadoes, earthquakes, snowstorms). At least with hurricanes you can detect it's coming several days in advance and plan accordingly.
The op was in regards to the multi million dollar homes and all the Yankee retirees that move into a location that gets dumped on yearly...reckon that's why the insurance companies stay in business and make like bandits.
