Don't feel bad Mandy, when I got married I never cooked a meal. My new husband took me to the store and said put in the cart whatever you want to cook. We went through the whole store and we went home with one loaf of bread, margarine, milk and bologna. He never gave me advanced warning, I then confessed I never cook a meal in my life. Well I went through some receipes and returned to the store the next night. We stayed married for 47 years until his passing in 2017. He learnt to love my cooking.
I’m sorry for your loss, but on a positive note, honestly how many people are able to say they’ve been married for 47 years!!?? You were so blessed, also you’ll always have him in your memories and heart? You never lose that, so truth be told, he’ll always be with you, true!!??
I love the way Steven gazes at you when you are talking into the camera ... may we all be blessed to be the recipient of such adoration! I enjoy your videos so much! Such a nice family!! Thank you for sharing!!! :)
I can seriously just feel your guys' love energy from where I'm sitting. You guys are just so smitten and in love with each other even after as long as you guys have been together. It makes me blush with how much love you guys have for each other and show it on camera without realizing it. I can just see it and feel it through the camera and screen. I see that you guys will be together til death do you part. The way you two just look at each other 🤭🤭🤭😜😜😜😜... What a love story. The way you two work together around the food is just a bonus. 💖💖💖💖
I just love watching you two together! You play off each other so well. And when Cole isn't shy and makes camera appearances he is great. So cute! Your recipes are usually spot on for me. Thank you!
Love Steven's honesty answering what he didn't like you have cooked. Both of you have alot of true love for one another, it shines through! Enjoyed this video!
My husband and I have been married for 35yrs. I know what he likes and what he doesn't like but it took many years to master the cooking. He's actually learned to like what I cook or he doesn't eat😀
That cranberry French dressing chicken has been around I had found it in a recipe booklet many many years ago, I have made ti many times. Steven has the best TV/Radio voice!!
Love the way your husband looks at you. Such a gentle look if that makes any sense! I can feel the love the both of you have for each other. Spiritually and emotionally. Your family is a blessing to the UA-cam community! Love your channel! 🙏🏻 🥰
Mandy, my FAVORITE thing about you is that you use ingredients we know, use and probably have in pantry. Made the Laurens Chicken for a church social and did not even taste it until the dinner....... i did cut the chicken in 1/3's - typical potluck style. Back to the basics is how you cook and these days you cannot even find a 'simple, classic' chili without having all these unknown mystery ingredients. THANK YOU AGAIN FOR BEING A CLASSIC HOME COOK. Sure once in a while it is fun to purchase an exotic ingredient, but that is for rare and special occassions. THANK YOU MANDY, STEVEN AND COLT.
Love the way Stephen announced each recipe. He could do voice over work. Seriously. The video was delightful. I look forward to your videos every week.
I love seeing a compilation of your favourites. I would say 2 to 3 times a year would be good since u do so many it's a great reminder of what has been done but also what u guys loved best so we can try. I have tried so many of your recipes and I'm finding that my family is liking what u guys find are the best so keep these coming. I never miss a video I absolutely love your energy and content
Lauren's chicken is amazing! Loved how easy it was. On the fried rice, you might try peanuts and chow mein noodles as a garnish as well as the green onions. Love your channel, Mandy.
Oh man, I’m going to have to try Lauren’s chicken. I make something very similar with French dressing, onion soup mix, and apricot preserves. Same directions, and absolutely delicious!
i’m so obsessed with how sweet your husband is! i can tell you show your family love by feeding them, and he is so great about showing how much he appreciates it! plus, what a great announcer voice 🤣
Oh my goodness, y’all! Just when I think you can’t do a better video, you do it again! 😂 I love how your videos are so family oriented and Stephen is just knocking it out of the park! 😂 Well done you guys! ❤️❤️❤️
Omg i love this. This is so my husband and I. This month will be married 2 years. I am still learning in the kitchen and experimenting I can so relate about depending on my crockpot in the beginning first learning to cook. I didn't have much cooking instruction or direction for cooking growing up. Bless my husband he has always eaten what I've made and always says how much he likes it and says it good and encourages me. He has alot of patience and understanding. He probably sometimes isn't the biggest fan of some things Ive made I am sure but never is afraid to try anything which is good. I'm very thankful and blessed. 😍
Stephen should voice overs for a living. This was a great video love all the fun you guys have together in the kitchen. Look forward to all your videos. Usually I binge watch 5 or 6 together. Hello from Ireland. 😁
I work the over nights at the local hospital where I live, IF the ER is Q.... I get to watch my favorite Channel. TONIGHT you two CRACKED me up...Thanks
Oh, my word. Hubby’s voice is great!😊 Having only recently discovered your channel, we are eating better and cooking meals is easier. So enjoy your channel, family, and food! 😊
I think Steven is ready for the movies 🤣! We made Lauren's chicken last week and everyone agreed I should make again but serve over rice instead of a side of mashed potatoes.
I was also married on August 4, 2000. My son was born August 5, 1999. I love it when you share things that that. The recipes I have tried so far are great. Lots of love, spices, and hard work.
The Fiesta Lime Chicken is my favorite at Applebee's and I also make it at home. It is usually served over tri-color tortilla strips, which give it some crunch that you may like, and they usually melt the cheese over it, which may keep the cheese from falling off. Really enjoying finding some new recipes on your channel to try! :)
I've been cooking for 40 years and I love your recipes. I wish I had some of these recipes when my children were younger and at home. They would have loved them.
I’ve been making that same chicken recipe with the cranberry sauce, French dressing and Lipton onion soup mix since the 1980s. Who actually came up with that recipe is a mystery to me but it’s been around for a very long time! Love your channel ♥️
Thank you for Lauren's Indian chicken, did a big family dinner tonight had to Google a creamy French dressing as could not find in local stores near me, turned out better than bottled store bought. I served mashed potatoes and Brussel sprouts and cheesy broccoli with it. IT WAS A HIT!!!!! every body loved it and said make this again.
Hi Mandy, I love watching your videos. I"ve tried so many of your dinners since I found your channel. The last one was the taco meatloaf. It had an interesting taste and since there's only 2 of us, we had plenty left over. I'm trying Lauren's chicken tonight. I love that it's just four ingredients. David, my hubby, doesn't like brussel sprouts so we're having steamed broccoli and REAL mashed potatoes, which he loves. 45 more minutes to cook and we'll be tasting Lauren's chicken. Looking forward to it. Thanks! :)
Just wanted to say thank you so much for making my life easy. I have four grandkids and it’s not easy Pleasing them. But God has blessed me with four beautiful grandchildren. And your dishes are delicious and they love them. God bless you thank you very much.
Mandy, just won’t you to know found this recipe several years ago, & it’s SAVED MY A__ many times, THANK YOU, LOVE YOUR CHANNEL,I KNOW THIS MSG IS OLD BUT GLAD YOU’UR OK AFTER Helene & Milton ALL ARE OK ,STAY SAFE BEEN FOLLOWING YOU GUYS SENCE THE BEGINNING, YOUR THE REAL THING, THATS HARD TO FIND, THANK YOU. I learned a lot & I’m 73 yrs old cooked for 4 siblings 2 sons & 3 grand babies. Thank You.
This was GREAT! My goal is to make one of these meals a week! I have to look up your recipe for those Brussel Sprouts, your taco seasoning and your rice!! I really think peas in fried rice are just there for decoration! Love y’all!! 🥰
Lauren’s Indian Chicken is AMAZING! Made it last week and my husband has already requested to have it again this week! Now I have to try the others in this video. Yummy! 💜
Love Steve's input on all your recipes. He gives such a honest answer and his expressions are the best. You two are such a sweet couple. The recipes all seem to be easy, tasty and simple...👍
Love this video .. Picking y'alls favorite and sharing 😊 Stevens voice over was priceless ! And my hubby doesnt like cream cheese in recipes and I don't like peas .. Too funny !
I just love you two! You can tell how much you love one another! ❤️ Thank you for all of your videos. I’m usually in a what to make for dinner rut and your recipes always help!
I wasn't finished, lol. I'm 70 and have been cooking for 51 yrs of marriage and think it's funny I'm learning some new, easy meals from someone so young. Really enjoy you.
AppleBees Fiesta Lime Chicken is my Favorite! I will definitely be checking this recipe out! It looked amazing!! What a wonderful family...Love your sweet spirits!
Thank you for all the great recipes, I'm really enjoying your channel. I just made 'Lauren's Indian Chicken' re-dubbed 'Erik's French Onion Chicken' and is was SOOO GOOD!!! I used 8 chicken thighs, so we had left overs and the next day I added rice to the dish which helped with all the extra sauce. My Husband's not a huge chicken fan, he's a beef kinda guy, but he thought this was very delicious and I can't wait to try more of your great idea's. Thanks again!!!
I loved this! I made the beef tips in my Dutch oven a few weeks ago. So delicious and totally a keeper. I plan to try the Indian chicken and fiesta lime chicken soon. Also, thank you for the Spanish rice recipe. It’s become a favorite (and I don’t even like rice that much). Thank you Mandy!
I love those little silicone mitts that cover your fingertips for holding the IP pot still--it's also good for safely opening the "seal" valve and reaching in a hot pot for the trivet, pot-in-pot dishes or basket. They're also good for grabbing dishes out of the microwave and holding the lid on while you drain any liquid used for steaming veggies. You don't have to worry about them getting wet and then you're burned by the steaming hot liquid.
OMG 😍 I love this! You two are so sweet together and I love the favorites idea! I was hoping the fried rice would make it on the list 😆 it’s a new family favorite at our house. Thank you for all your content and the inspiration to get cooking! It’s created a lot of nice memories in our family. Can’t wait for the next video! 😍
Hi! I’m new to following you guys (only a few months) but I would like to say that what brought me in is the realness of the mishaps and the fun that you and your husband share. Social media can bring down even the lightest of hearts but you two (three on occasion🙃 - I have a teen son too) continue to try, adapt, learn, but mostly, continue to be yourselves. Thank you for bringing some home realness to my down time. I wish the best for you and your family. ❤
I enjoyed this one! You should do one every few months. And definitely have Steven do the voiceovers 🤩 ps...the instant pot chicken fried rice and taco stuffed peppers are our current faves!
The voice over was hilarious! Like being back in the movie theaters again. Thank you, I'm definitely going to give these recipes a try with my teenage boys!!
I have been making the “Lauren’s Indian Chicken “ recipe for years . I found it online probably about 10 years ago but it was called California Cranberry Chicken. That is such a yummy recipe. I like to serve with stuffing.
I made a similar one years ago. Bottle of Russian dressing, jar of peach preserves and the onion soup mix. Haven been able to find the dressing for a long time. A friend told me to use Catalina dressing. Haven't yet.
@Sheryl Adams Well, Sheryl, it's your lucky day. I just posted this: We make a version of Lauren's Indian Chicken ... but slightly different. We call it Chirp Chicken. It was introduced to me by recipe and acolades only. I had to try it myself - and it was an instant family favorite. CHIRP CHICKEN 6-8 Half Chicken Breasts 1/4 cup Mayo 1 envelope Lipton Dry Onion Soup Mix 1/2 cup bottled Russian Dressing 1 cup (12oz bottle) Apricot Preserves Cover bottom of baking dish with foil. Stir together mayo, soup mix, dressing and preserves. Coat each piece of chicken with mixture and arrange in dish in a single layer. Cover dish with foil. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. Uncover the pan and bake for 10-15 minutes longer. Serve over rice or with buttered mashed potatoes. Outstanding!
You two are wonderful I recently started to watch you. You help make supper cooking easier. After 31 yrs of marriage I needed a reboot especially with kids still around the house. Thank you.
Ya'll just make me smile. Gonna have to try all of these. I feel like we are the same people. 3 in our family, sixteen yr old son, cat is named Gracie, and we LOVE garlic too!!!!
I really hope that your marriage is as good as it looks in the videos. I blindly married at age 20, had my first daughter 9 months and two weeks later, and 7 years later had a family of 4 daughters. He never spent ANY time with us, I never cooked one meal that he didn't criticize, and generally he was just not a husband and father. Painful as it was, I now realize that he was the loser in the long run. It is just heartwarming to see couples with a loving and close relationship. Also I'm enjoying your recipes.
I LOVE your hair today!! Super cute! And I also agree...Stephen has a voice-over career ahead of him if he ever needs it! 😋 Oh! We have also started getting butcher box meats because of your suggestion!
We did Lauren’s Indian Chicken my husband really liked it. It was okay for me. I also did the taco stuffed peppers. That was amazing if your a fan of being peppers. We also did your breakfast casserole with the biscuits, gravy & eggs! I think that was a subbie recipe too. That was really great too. I really enjoyed it because the left overs reheated very well. I really enjoy your favorites!!
Haha Steven us hilarious. Reminds me of my guy. We have been married for 24 years and I was in the same boat. Food Network and hubby’s granny were my lifesavers. Now I can hold my own in the kitchen. I just love y’all
I finally made your “Brown Rice” tonight and the family loved it! One of the kids described it as a better/fancier rice pilaf!! Will be making again! ❤️
Mandy, we all have to go thru learning, im 61 & still learning. You are a very accomplished cook, i could never do the videos/shows like you do. I admire you.
I really want you to say “Hi I’m Mandy from Mandy in the making and your watching my UA-cam channel”....and then you draw something like the Disney channel symbol lol!!! + Steven should voice over more often it was awesome with a side of sauce!!!!!!
I LOVE ALL the recipes I've tried so far Mandy and I about cried on the last one you barely said anything about family but I cried when you lost your uncle. Unexpected is tough! I Love watching for Coles thumbs! I've been making some recipes you share and share them with my 88 year old Dad, and 62 yr old brother, 64 yr old sister, and her boyfriend 67yr, and occasionally another sister, 51yr, and occasionally a nephew and our newest friend who is 71. So I have to double up the batches. My Mom has been gone now for 5 yrs ago last September. When she was able, she made Sunday dinners. I'm still making them now trying to keep the family together in Jesus name. Even with the division going on in this country. I just Love to watch you and your husband and son! I'm a hairdresser and watch it at work too! Thank you so much for all you do! Gonna try those famous GREENBEANS!!!! OH and the one with those 3 weird ingredients over chicken... French dressing, cranberries, lupton onion soup mix and chicken thighs! Lauren's Indian chicken! THANKS SO MUCH!!!
Ahh...Steven--the Velvet Voice! I wish you were doing an audio version of the bible, I would buy it! The food looks delish and I will be trying them very soon.
Stahp it! Stevens voice overs!!! I think he has a voice over career ahead of him! 😂🤣 AMAZING
Hahaha!!!
@@MandyintheMaking Seriously.... I know he was being silly, but he absolutely could do voiceovers!! His voice is amazing!
Steven does a great voice over! Souds great!
I seriously said the same thing😂😂
How about a video of Cole’s all time favorites?
Steven has such a sweet, gentle demeanor; you are definitely one another’s better halves; you two are the best!!

Love the videos!
Question - Has Steven ever said too much garlic?
But a side note - the way Steven looks at you is pure love.
nope, never said too much garlic. LOL And thanks Jessica!
The way he looks at her was the first thing I noticed. So sweet!!
He’s easy on the eyes!
Yeah they’re definitely UA-cam’s best example of True Love

great video, too funny. I know Cole doesn't like being on camera, but OMG if he and Steven did a what's for dinner video that would be hilarious😂
Watching Steven is great comedic relief! He kinda looks like “this isn’t my thing, but I do it for her!”
😂 loved it!

I’ve made it with chicken before. It’s also really good with pork chops.
Steven: Don’t be afraid to throw more of that in there......... just not cream cheese. 🤣😂
Amen to that. LOL
Steven kinda reminds of Tom Hanks when he speaks! Similar octave and manner of speaking! His voice is so soothing
Steven has that announcers voice. Voice over work is a good job. Career change?🤣. Great video by the way. Thank you for sharing ❤️

You don't have to worry about them getting wet and then you're burned by the steaming hot liquid.
Mandy, the cranberry chicken was amazing! My husband liked it very much, too! Love your channel!
Hey Mandy We made the fiesta lime chicken recipe and made it into tacos ! It was amazing Thanks for sharing this recipe.
I love the CHAPTERS showing the included recipes within the video! Soooo helpful when referencing back!
They all look delicious, can't wait to try them all, I have already made several of your recipes .
i love watching you two. its a pleasure seeing such respect and joy.
I enjoyed this one! You should do one every few months. And definitely have Steven do the voiceovers 🤩 ps...the instant pot chicken fried rice and taco stuffed peppers are our current faves!
Yay! Thank you!
@Sheryl Adams
Well, Sheryl, it's your lucky day. I just posted this:
We make a version of Lauren's Indian Chicken ... but slightly different. We call it Chirp Chicken. It was introduced to me by recipe and acolades only. I had to try it myself - and it was an instant family favorite.
CHIRP CHICKEN
6-8 Half Chicken Breasts
1/4 cup Mayo
1 envelope Lipton Dry Onion Soup Mix
1/2 cup bottled Russian Dressing
1 cup (12oz bottle) Apricot Preserves
Cover bottom of baking dish with foil.
Thank you.
Love this video! Thank you for the new meal choices. Gonna make my husband fall in love with me yet again
I have seen the chicken made with Catalina dressing. It’s good, too.
Ya'll just make me smile. Gonna have to try all of these. I feel like we are the same people. 3 in our family, sixteen yr old son, cat is named Gracie, and we LOVE garlic too!!!!
Very similar!!!! So funny!
Oh! We have also started getting butcher box meats because of your suggestion!
Don't you just LOVE it?? We just got another one a couple days ago. It's like Christmas on BB day. LOL
Wait, Stephen’s voice has me rolling!! 😂😂😂he could be a voice actor!
That man loves you. Your recipes are awesome.. but you can see the love between y'all.. good food is made with love!!
Steven has a great announcers voice!
The French Cranberry onion soup mix Chicken has been around for many many years. It is really good.
"Don't be afraid to throw more of that in there!"... unless it's cream cheese!
