Thanks for this. Been considering a RYFT but looking for more crawling with some speediness ca. the other way around. This video just secured PAIN for my wallet.
That's sik man. I'm thinking of doing this to mine and putting my castle copperhead + 2850 slate motor in it. Had my fun with the 2 speed fast stuff now I want to change it up. Thanks for the info. Nice set up!
Hell yeah that's awesome. I really like this Flysky. I had an issue with it today. I put some cheap batteries in it and it didn't like them. It actually completely reset the transmitter and un binned itself.I had to re bind and reset all endpoints. It pissed me off .So I don't recommend putting cheap batteries in it.
You can find them on Amain.com. they are the Ottsix Usd Stickys 2.2 and they are decent for crawling, just make sure to get the red compound for crawling.
Great build man! Ive recently got a stock ryft which i plan to convert into a crawler. Ive seen the vitafon portals which specifically say they should be installed on vitafon axels. In your opinion, do the vitafon axel design vary from the stock axels apart from the material? Thank you
Thanks for your feedback, much appreciated. I think so too but they (vitavon) make it sound like you need proprietary axels to use the portals 😅 anyway there’s only one way to find out… pull the trigger on those portals and pray to the rc gods they fit the stock axels 😇
thinking about using my Traxxas 3500kv brushless system on the ryft, you think it will fit? I understand the stock pinion gear shaft is 5mm on the ryft and the traxxas is 3.175mm. But in terms of the motor mount, you think it will fit?
Can you run the traxxas 72t spur and 13t pinion gears on the stock motor/trans? I just bought a Ryft & want to make it a crawler asap. Was thinking I’d do the pinion, spur, and the 43/13 diff gears. What are your thoughts?
@SuperSam7777 I don't think it'd help the stock motor, just not right fir crawling at all. If I was you I'd just swap in a Fusion Se or Fusion Pro with the stock transmission. The 43/13 ring and pinions will definitely help but if your running the stock RtR one speed transmission you still might have over heating Problems because the stock one speed transmission is geared so high.
@ thank you so much for responding back man I really appreciate the help a lot, I’ve been trying to find someone to help me line up all the parts needed. Is the fusion se/pro a brushless motor that can be simply swapped in with stock ESC? I haven’t looked into them yet. I wonder what I could do to the transmission then? I’ve heard of ppl using the “dig” trans but apparently have to find adapters etc etc etc.
@SuperSam7777 the Fusion's are 2in1's you'll ditch your entire stick system, esc everything and just swap in the Fusion. As far as the transmission it's a very simple swap. I've got a video on it,super simple and no adapters needed.
@@Hardlines_FullsendRc you have a link to the adapters you used? Or the one that worked best? I’m trying to have it just be a crawler and not buy a bunch of gears using trial and error. Ha.
Throwing money on Vitavon axles, portals, doesnt make any change to crawling capabilities compared to stock ones, tried and after 1 ride returned back Vitavon...
Lol been running the shit out this rig, same system for over 2 years at almost 11lbs of Ryft with zero issues 😂 everyone has their opinion on certain brands and that's fine.
Great job. Totally awesome. Lots of research in that rig 👍

You can build it for crawling much cheaper than I did. This is just the route I wanted to go.
Absolutelly gorgeous, I've just finished mine and looks nice and tough at the same time.

I dropped my transmitter like that in the water yesterday, and I took it apart compressed air and wiped it out and it’s fine

GREAT video. If I were to build a RYFT just like your's. Approximately, how much would it cost me. I plan on getting a crawler soon.
Your looking at about 2,000$ if you were to build exactly like mine
Maybe a little closer to 2,500$ can’t remember exactly what I’ve got into it but I know it’s over 2,000$.
Well. It's worth every penny spent. It's your passion. Your escape from this world. I'm still getting another Crawler soon. @@Hardlines_FullsendRc

Thanks! From what I can tell the Vitavon portals will bolt right onto stock axles.

Do you have links for the front and rear links as well as the link mounts?
Treal hobby.com for front link mounts and the rear links are from a Axial scx10iii

Yes I don’t see why it wouldn’t. I’m not 100% but motor options are pretty wide when fitting into the Ryft, just gotta try and see.
what motor esc combo did you use? I just ordered the kit and would like it to be more crawler than bouncer.
Spectrum 2100kv smart crawler system
What portals are those I know you said vitavon but what rc are they made for
For the Axial Ryft

@ Amain hobbies,eBay,Amazon are usually where I shop. Just search Hobbywing fusion se or pro.
Junk my capra would smoke that thing.JP That thing is a beast
I know it will😓
Where did you get your roof cover? Did you make it yourself and if you did then what from? I want one for my ryft
It's a piece of Kydex from Ebay 7"x7" If I remember correctly. Then just cut it to your liking. They make a bunch of different ones.
What’s your pinion gear and spur gear tooth count?
72t Traxxas spur gear and 14t pinion.

bigger pinion ("20t") + smaller spur (68t) = more torque
smaller pinion + bigger spur (stock setup) = speed
smaller pinion + smaller spur = potential motor damage if kept at full speed
How much does this full setup run?
About 2k,give or take a little. I've never actually sat down and added everything up but definitely in the 2k range.
