As a community, we need to redefine or clarify the terms of what being a man and a woman is. Our community is so lost. It's definitely not about gender roles at all. Cooking, cleaning, taking the trash out, making sure your vehicle gets serviced, fixing things or paying to fix things around your home when they no longer work, paying bills, etc. are basic adult responsibilities.

@@Antoinethecool being a responsible adult is important. The things that I listed in my original response should not be done based on whether you were born with a vagina or a penis. These are things that must be done in order to get through life regardless of what your gender is and regardless of what your relationship status is. Many don't want to accept that - it's common sense.

@@SouthernSweetTee I disagree that your relationship status and role in that said relationship aren't important to the things you listed.
If a man is in a relationship agreeing to pay for all the bills via working his ass off who has more time and opportunities to cook, clean, and do chores around the home?
At the same time if a man has time and certain chores require any amount of physical labor why is it bad to expect they be done by the man? Cleaning gutters on top of roofs, taking out heavy trash, raking leaves, cutting grass etc.
A relationship is *interdependent* not *independent* . So while, yes, the things you list are healthy to do while single in a relationship deviding and concurring task by whose more equipped to perform them is the literal benefit of interdependence

    • @SouthernSweetTee
      @SouthernSweetTee 2 роки тому +3

@@Mj783980 interdependent meaning both parties in the relationship depend on each other and work together for the greater good, which benefits them both. Has nothing to do with gender roles unless that's what you want it to be. There's no reason both man and woman can't share the household and adulting responsibilities. Both are (well,... should be) capable of working, raising children, cooking, cleaning, etc. As an independent single person you do all these same things so when you get in a relationship that know-how doesn't suddenly disappear. The difference is you should be working alongside your partner and you all are now sharing your life responsibilities. Those responsibilities don't change based on your gender.

A lot of women that are high earners have moved into a higher tax bracket financially but not socially. Many have that hood mindset or loyalty that keeps them tied to the type of guy she grew up with, rather than putting herself around the well educated men who are earning in the hundreds of thousands or more per year. How can you reap the benefits of a traditional man if you are not doing what traditional men do ?
Traditional men lead , provide , give stability and are are held accountable for the family.
Just because you are a man does not make you entitled to the same benefits of a man who leads , provides & is stabile . You have to pay the cost to be the boss.
Men expect women to feed their ego 24/7 when ,in reality, the respect of a traditional man is earned & proven by how he leads and what he provides.
If you are not holding up your end of the bargain for a traditional relationship then scrap the traditional relationship standards that only benefit you. And that’s for men and women.
Both partners in the relationship deserve respect.

@@kojoboateng6755 I never listed any demands for men , I simply stated that you cannot expect to reap the benefits of a man who is traditional when you are not doing those traditional duties. That is vice versa as well , which I also stated in my first comment , in quote “and that’s for men and women.”
Another example would be how you can’t expect to have the same pay , respect & accessibility of a manager when you are just a team member. That doesn’t mean the team member is not valued , it just means that you are not granted the same perks as a manager.
Therefore ,a man who is not doing the duties of a traditional man cannot expect to receive the same type of treatment .
I’m not saying that men don’t deserve respect at all , as I stated in my original comment .
Of course men deserve respect, love & commitment , however , Y’all want king treatment while not being kings . Y’all want us to feed y’all ego even when you are not doing King shxt.
Even men have a hierarchy amongst themselves. Men don’t give average joes the same respect as they give higher earning , alpha males. That’s not to say that the average joes don’t deserve or get respect , it’s just the average Joe is not getting the same level of respect as a higher earning/alpha male.
A lot of men hate the idea of being treated equally and respectfully with their partners. Men have to always be praised and elevated above their women in some type of way to satisfy their ego & I think that’s the problem.
Traditional treatment belongs to those who are actually traditional.

Because women aren't traditional. Men are still out here building families and homes, but most women in our community want excess. They want bags and shoes and to drive bmw's. Why not have a nice, decent family, drive a Honda accord that is reliable, and love each other? Because most of these man after a while are still not satisfied and will hook up with other women, saying it shouldn't hurt you, this is who we are and you should be happy with the luxury i give you. Women are actively looking for rich, isn't gonna find you happiness, you will live comfortably unhappy. It's about love people, loyalty comes only with love and it's rare to find it. It's not that men are intimidated by women who have their stuff in order, it's just off putting. When men realize that they're attractive, they often times walk around with the arrogance of you should want to talk to me because I'm attractive. They lose all understanding to the art of getting a woman to want to be with you. They ditch the arts and nuance to it because they don't feel it's needed. It's the same thing with women who are rich. They feel like they don't have to apply themselves in order to get you. They think it's beneath them to try to work hard to get a man's attention.
So I don't have to be intimidated by a woman's riches or what she can do for herself, because that's her business. And just that when women amass a lot of money, they end up becoming very disrespectful and they look down on men because they start to take inventory in their life and assess what men are good for Bit-by-bit? Then say I can do so and so I don't need you.

I don’t think men are intimidated by women who have “their stuff together” I believe that women who fall into that category possess too many masculine traits, and there is no respect barrier there. So b/c the woman is doing so well, she typically has the tendency to look down on a brotha who isn’t. Even if she made the decision to be with him. I also believe that women who are in those positions are more in a competitive mode that a lot of them don’t know how to turn off when they leave their place of employment. Which is what pushes the men away. But intimidation: nah

All of the machinations women get to embrace when they try to validate abusive behavior towards a man is comedic.
There are plenty of men, who found bum ass women by comparison, built them up and treat them a certain way. Yet that don't stop women from saying how this athlete, this entertainer, this whoever was wrong for how they treated their girlfriend's. Yet these women are trying to validate how a women can treat men if they build them up.

That whole mental health conversation was terrible. Having trust issues is ASSOCIATED with a mental illness and not an actual mental illness. Plus I can tell y’all don’t have the patience or the time to dedicate yourself to someone who has those mental health issues. And y’all probably don’t do research and look into those mental health issues to find ways to help your partner or significant other who struggles with mental health issues.

Women with money talk to men who don't have money crazy when they are in relationships. Men don't like that, it gets to them eventually and then go find a side piece, a young thing, a quiet chick, a not so well off young lady that they can be masculine with. It's dominant vs submissive and whoever has the most money in this modern world we live in tends to be the dominant one and has the most options.
The money part of the conversation is about who has the most and usually the one with the most will move a certain way because there are more fish in the sea and there's always a line, an event or happening that will trigger that.

A man is a man when he naturally gives his woman the respect that she deserves. Now if she brings the money the bacon home putting the food on the table a roof over his head. Respectfully he should not let her come home and bust her ass in the second shift. Running a household is like going to work. The way a woman feels protected falls under respect. I don't care how much money she makes as long that man is giving her that respect she feels protected. I don't give a damn get respect outside up down left right but as long he shows her respect she feels protected.

Yes, a man going to be a man kudos. I was not talking about a single man being a single man or a man being disrespectful to his relationship by breaking whatever rules they agree to. 29:36 depression is mental health. So if someone has suffered from depression, they should be revoked from experiencing love? You can’t choose to have any mental health issues, however you can take the proper steps to have it in a good place. Ppl shouldn’t be written off by things they can’t control. B/c most mental health illnesses are genetics. Some are environmental, how many ppl walking around with trauma (ptsd that’s also a mental health illness) just based off where they grew up?
You shouldn’t involve yourself with anyone who suffers from mental health issues who has not had proper care. But if they have and continue to do that work, by all means give them the opportunity. Ppl grow and change everyday.
It is your responsibility to seek the help you need. I am an advocate for therapy. I stay telling ppl to go. I’ve ended relationships with ppl who’ve refused to go. But that’s b/c we can’t go around trying to heal ppl. That’s has to be a want from within.
