Thank you Sanjay for this nice recipe .I've been making it for years and it still surprises friends how good it is. It serves even as a great pasta sauce sometimes .
hello sir i am very new in d cooking, but wann learn more , i found deep interest in cooking by watching u r cookry shows.thank you so much, i love dal makhani, u'll be surprised that i came 2 know d meaning of makhani that is butter by learning u r receipe only. really u r an exellent chef. i am in the marriagable age so want to learn excellent cooking but now i no need to worry becase i got such a fantastic chef.really i am very thankful to u.
I made this yesterday! without onions!. i decided to make it simpler - one pot recipe. i sauted the ginger garlic n then tomato, added spices and then the soaked dals. n pressure cooked for 30 mins on low heat. The whole house smelled like a restaurant! i added salt later. Guys, trust me.. u dont even need butter or cream.. the dal tasted so good! i put tons of ginger n garlic paste. in the end, added little butter for the kick n some whole fat goats milk!... thanx @vahchef ! your recipe is amazing!
I am a HUGEEE dal makhani fan! I never eat Indian food in a restaurant without this and I have eaten it at more than 600 restaurants (all over India) but have very rarely found the exact taste. But I made this and this was the PERFECT taste. Haven't ever eaten a better one! took me more than 3 hours to make this but it was all worth it! Thanks a lot VahChef!
I like how excited this guy is about Indian food. I like to watch some of his videos to see how someone cooks Indian food authentically. I try to adapt these recipes to make them a little lower in fat and easier for those not experienced in Indian food.
I made this reciepe at home by following the same procedure and I can say there is no other easy method than this to get quick and yummy daal makhani. Thanks Vah Chef, you're the best.
When ever our family get bored about home food we just try your different recipes, make them and heartly enjoy those recipes. Enjoying year on year your lovely foods and enjoy eating with hands.
I watch cooking videos just because I love watching cooking channels.Your cooking videos are truly inspiring.. It definitely makes me want to try all of the dishes you have posted here. Thanks.
Thanks vah chef, all my guests went crazy & they were all punjabi guests & they said that it tasted just like hotel daal makhani. We are in australia and they said that after leaving India they have now eaten such good daal. Thanks a million. My husband was so proud of me and he said that I should thank u for this. I am crazy for all ur vegetarian recipes. We would like to meet you when we come to india . Thanks .Keep up the good work
This is great! I come from Germany and I used to hate lentils because as a child we only ever got a very boring lentil soup with only salt and vinegar as spices. This is really lovely. Thank you!
We had great results with this dish following this video. No measurements or anything required - just eyeballed it all. My only variation was to use a 16oz can of diced tomatoes and a small tin of tomato paste. Taste and texture were perfect. I could have gone heavier on the chilli powder but very very rich and flavourful in any case. My only complaint was in using the whole garam masala of cardamom, clove, cinnamon and bay leaf. Easy, of course, to pick out the cinnamon sticks and bay leaves but a bit of a pain in the ass picking out the cloves and cardamom pods before serving. As well as the food, the chef seems like a very nice man!
Dear Chef, Amazing recipe, i got comments like , "This is authentic punjabi dal makhani" and "Did a punjabi cook this". Thank you very much for your recipes.
Beautiful recipe, every time I have used this recipe it turned out great. People worrying about butter and cream, can try adding full cream milk instead of cream and reduce the amount of butter. It will still taste good but of course the best taste is with butter & cream :)
Love this recipe. I did make some changes, probably not to most peoples' liking, but it tastes good. 1. I use Toor Dal, because it cooks faster. 2. I use a whole can of coconut milk instead of cream. All other the same. Greetings from USA!
I just love your recipes and I have bee waching since long I like the way you explane any body is new to can follow and the dish ces. Extremely tasty thank you chef
Tried preparing in exact same manner as shown with mix of pulses, and its turned out to be awesome. Thanks Chef you'r amazing. Also the Kasturi Methi gives a unique pleasant taste.

There is no doubt that Vahchef is a professional chef - it certainly shows in his style of cooking and the manner that he teaches. I do cook, but there are certain dishes which I do not cook on regularly basis and have to jog my memory about the method and the maslas to put in the dish.. However, I shall inform you how the dal makhani turned out. Regards
Its true that Bukhara daal is kept on overnight charcoal heat, even the charcoal used has specific measurements.. Its still the same.. Well back again on this video, I have craving for your cooking style... Its really making others to cook great dishes and in a style of its own... I have wondered many sites/videos but I come here at the end and I find what my heart was looking for... Hats Off

Wow. What a great recipe. I've been struggling to make decent Indian recipes for my Indian boyfriend for two years. Being Korean I'm not familiar with many of the spices or steps in Indian cooking. This dish came out amazing! My boyfriend even said it tasted better than the way his relatives make it I added coriander leaves at the end and only put 2\3 stick of butter and half cup of cream. Never the less came out so delicious. Many thanks for your post. This recipe will be going into my regular round of recipes.
I can make multiple cuisine and my brother is law is planning to open a restaurant in London only because of my cooking skills. This MBA grad learnt everything about cooking through your videos

Sanjay my friend and I are huge fans of your cooking. This dal makhani was five star quality. Absolutely beautiful. Keep the videos coming. fabulous food with entertainment. you certainly bring a smile to our faces. :)
I just prepared this dish exactly as specified EXCEPT i didn't pressure cook it, rather i soaked it overnight and then cooked it in a crock pot for about 8-9 hours. It turned out simply AMAZING! The only thing i would suggest is to go easy on the whole garam masala spices, as they can be overpowering if you cook them in a crock pot for a long time.
Thanks for this recipe. I cooked this two days ago exactly how you show it in this clip and liked it very much. But I just added some sugar at the end to sweeten it a little more for me and then it was perfect for me! Ahhhhhh, thank you!
You are awesome chef The way you cook the dishes are superb...mouth watering.... I tried many of your dishes and came out well Thank you for sharing the vedi for us....

Loved this video. I want to try it so badly. I could not understand that last ingredient: that you crushed in your palms ? Looks so good and I would serve over basmati rice.
This was very delicious. I already tried this and didn't get it well and didn't give a try later until I found ur recipe. Al my family members loved it. Hats of f to u.
I made it and it tasted great... Simple and Perfect recipe... Ya one more thing, I tried ur Sarso saag with palak recipe and that was also as great as this one... Thanks...
One way to further add flavor is to cook the dal overnight in a slow cooker instead of soaking in water and using pressure cooker. Instead of water, I use chicken or vegetarian broth. Also I add salt, onion, garlic, couple of whole green jalpeno and ginger.
u r too good n marvelous.... I made it n came out really good.... have a lot of craving for this dal as m carrying.... n U HV really made my day.... thanks....

Dear VahChef, Thank you so much. Believe it or not you have actually taught me to cook from scratch!!
My wife is Indian and I cooked this for her...........Touch down!

SixStringNationTV just put all the whole spices in a cloth and put a knot, it won't create any problem.

While cooking it overnight on low flame doesn't the daal burns?
stallio nope, you just need to put ample amount of water in the dal for slow cooking. 10 times atleast.
@@rajsingh-kf2ms thanks
@KapahiR did you cook your dal only with the ingredients mentioned in your comments or you prepared the "whole dish" and then kept it to cook slowly?
Cooking with a broth is 👍🏼❤🔥
