@@davidcalder8210 thanks for the kind words. I'm sure we're not the only ones to have done this. My daughter and I tried a couple of times to reach the summit but we were unable to because of the weather. Seemed appropriate. I'm pushing 70 now so doubt I'll get there again.

Another great adventure. I arrived late Saturday to stay a couple of nights at the bottom of Glen Etive. Sunday was foul weather so you knocked it off on Saturday. Beautiful part of the country, just wish I was feeling fit enough to get into they hills. Enjoying the video content, keep up the good work.
You want to try Rannoch Moor for midges.I was up there 5years ago and when we got out our van at Rannoch rail station.every one of us were black totally from head to toe black with midges within seconds. And there's more to that weekend trip as far as midges are concerned.
Another brilliant dad and son trip Murray. Love Glencoe, though the midges looked lethal little buggers. As always thanks for sharing ATB and stay safe

LOVE THIS you two! Great memories being created here and they are captured on film too. Happy days! I have the go ahead from my specialist to be back in the New Zealand High Country having managed to avoid knee surgery at this stage. Still some strengthening work to do and am building up slowly... but that hasn't stopped me dreaming and planning!!
Hey Jono - good to hear hope the knee continues to strengthen and you avoid surgery too. I am continuing to do my physio as much as possible and seems to be helping along with a few other things. Take care sir ATB Murray
"Magnificent" to say the least. Great to see Louis on camera and that route was fantastic, one which I must tackle myself someday. The views wow, the sun will and your van is top notch. Jealous lol Missing Scotland so was great to see in its splendour this evening on the big screen. Thanks Murray and Louis. Your dad's a legend in Eire ☘️ you should know :) M

Oh those midges - made me itch just looking at them. Fab video as ever - action camera footage absolutely fine - and good to see that route. Scotland's finest mountain? Not for me, all the ones in the Cuillin beat it, but it is a fabulous one nonetheless.
Absolutely brilliant "dad and lad" scramble Murray. The Glen certainly does take some beating, would have been perfect if not for the dreaded midge, they looked ferocious!😱. We really enjoy your climbs with your son. Fantastic watch as always, ATB, have a great weekend👍
Thanks Folks - was a fine day on the mountain (apart from the dreaded midgies at the start)! I think we both enjoyed it :) Take care and thanks for watching ATB Murray
Great vid again and great step up in difficulty for your son...well done him. But Murray I'm really disappointed you didn't continue your tank top theme! Tank tops in Scotland's mountains? .....no ok then AC/DC themed vids it is then 🤣 pretty good alternative...I'll have to start wearing my old Metallica gear 😎
I only wore the ac dc t shirt as the tank top was in the wash ;) lol - I think the fluorescent tank top is the way forward - especially now that we are entering the colder months ;) lol Thanks for watching ATB Murray
Very enjoyable video, except for the midges! Do you know if anyone ever goes up by the rocky rib to the right of the main path that goes up through the corrie? It has always looked interesting to me, but I wonder if it's a scramble or has any technical climbing?
Those Glen Coe Midgies are as bad as they get and I camped under the bridge down Glen Etive and got mauled and seem to be more nippy as the midge season ends. Nice scramble and quiet.
Sligachan camp site on Skye in August the midges seem to get worse the further north and west you go, I love riding my motorbike in Scotland as I get to kill lots of the little £*%!$
I live in Ballachulish and was climbing on Rannoch Wall at the end of this season and they were the worst I’ve seen them. Fortunately the wind stayed up for our climbing. It was so bad that the mountain rescue team had to move one of their rope skills CPD courses indoors!
Another cracking adventure. I've been up the Buachaille myself...thought I went up the tourist/walking route. It was a fantastic day and we walked all along to the end to get a cracking view of Loch Etive. Looking forward to making more memories in a few weeks! :-)
I'm a bit gutted I tried to do the Walk Highlands Buachaille Etive Mor route backwards. So I walked through the glen then tried the steep accent, on my own, up Allt Coire Altruim I think? I had to turn back. About 7-800m there is a horrific rocky slippery accent, which is fine coming down when you can slide on your arse, but it's not good solo free climbing upward. Really annoyed with myself. I tried to avoid the busy route. I'll just stick to the known route and directions until I am more confident.
Those midgies looked brutal at the start! 😬 Stob Dearg by curved ridge was my first Glencoe mountain, it was increible, then we did the full ridge. I've not done Broad Gulley Buttress but it looks just as much fun, might need to give it a shot. How would it be without ropes? I'm guessing fine as long as it's dry. Cheers!
It’s nice that you had a sunny day except for the bugs at the start, all went well. I know the action cam distorts the view but it still looks steep and scary Another nice outing with your son! Take care and happy hiking 🇨🇦❤️
