Murray and Gerry together - what a brilliant duo! Thanks for superb photography, great views and chuckle inducing banter. No-one does it better!🏴👍🤣
thanks Anne - got a couple of cracking adventures from Skye to edit with Gerry coming up at some point in the next few months :) Take care and thanks for watching ATB Murray
Super "hike n Ride" Murray,. So enjoyed your adventure with Gerry. What a view, so many mountains seen from there. Glad the bridge held up for your crossing. Thanks Murray, Alioban x
Thanks Murray, another excellent video. That looks like a wonderful circuit, and those panoramic views were something else. Gerry appears encyclopedic in his knowledge of the mountain names. Well done to you both, and look forward as always to your next adventure 😀
Your videos never disappoint Murray. This was certainly one BIG day! Hats off to you both, especially to still have smiles on your faces at the end. We love seeing you and Gerry get together to roam the Scottish mountains, you both look so at home in the hills and you know the mountains so well. Your banter always makes us chuckle 😆👌. Fantastic, thanks so much for taking us along. Shell and Pete😊👍
Thanks Folks, must admit to have slept well after this one and glad we had the MT Bikes for the approach - made a big difference . Take care and thanks for watching Murray
What a fantastic video with Gerry. Great chemistry and comedy throughout as usual. Getting cold up there for sure and looking forward to many winter adventures ahead. M ☘️ off to the Atlas Mountains today which follows in you and Gerrys past footsteps I believe :) ATB M ☘️
Have fun in the Atlas mountains. Myself and Gerry had a fabulous trip there a few years ago which Gerry planned and executed all by himself , I just turned up and joined the adventure :) Take care and thanks for watching ATB Murray
Thank you Murray, Thank you Gerry, the music choice was so funny at Shoogly Bridge 😂 beautiful views of Scotland as always. I must get over my fear of dams. 🤣 I think I would have probably felt guilty and given Gerry a hand.
I had a weekend camping at Culra in May 1995, using that same scrambly route up the leachas onto Alder. The day before I'd done a rather warm circuit of Geal Charn and Carn Dearg munros via Lancet edge, traversing the deep snow in my underpants! Kept my breeks, if not my boots, dry! Thanks for the memories, all the way to Tasmania.
love you guys my relaxation, it,s not you guys its the scenery thats definitely attractive haha, thank you Murray, always great to watch your video,s very much appreciate them, thank you x
Wonderful to see Gerry out and about with you. Always amusing videos when Gerry is about. Would have paid good money to see you ride the bridge 😆 Thanks for producing another great video Murray. Always the highlight of the week for me. As always stay safe out there. ATB.
Another great video. You pair make me laugh 👍🏼 And ah, the shoogly bridge returns. It was only when seeing the overhead, it became more apparent why you didn’t risk riding over 😂 May the shoogly bridge remain shoogly, for many a more years. Cheers, Gary.
Thank You once again Murray, for a simply divine video. I know ive commented on some of your videos, but this one really brought a lot of pleasure, when watching it.
A few questions.. please dont think of me as being ignorant but can you tell me what is the difference between a Ben, Monroe and Corbett and any others. I have visited Scotland a few times in the past and have to say it is absolutely beautiful. I found you on UA-cam by accident but am gradually watching all your videos and totally loving them, but am a bit confused with the terminologies.. Also I've seen on a few that you hit on a bit of history or background and some like this you have come across a building ruin.. have you come across any in Glencoe and have you been up near where the battle was.. I love finding out about things so hope you dont mind me asking and sorry to all you locals for not knowing xx
Loved this video! It brought back great memories of the best walk I've ever done in Scotland, when I walked in and wild camped at the Loch between the 2 Munroes. Your walk brought it all back, thanks so much.
Well done on a long day out, fantastic video of you both having a laugh too. Dr or Mister Gerry, always wondered what he did for a job, thought maybe a teacher.
I believed Gerry for a min that you went for a wee dip with the bikes. 🤭 A fine day gents. Nice wee circuit. Did it a few years ago, Ben Alder Cottage Bothy via Loch Rannoch. Mind and get the bookil done eh. 😉
Excellent as always chaps 👏👏👏 great banter love how you show Gerry respect and let him do the 360 he certainly knows his stuff likewise yourself murray 👍
Fantastic content as always Murray. Can't beat that feeling of solitude away from civilization. Far side of Glen Affric offers that as well on the way up to Beinn Fhada.
I think that ruin on Ben Alder summit is a Colby camp - there are a couple of them on Beinn an Oir (Paps of Jura) too. I think the Ben Alder to Beinn Bheoil ridge walk is one of the loveliest I've done, but it must be a tough route to do in one day.
Brings back memories of my Munro compleation day - bike in and did the 6 from the bothy, finishing on Carn Dearg. A big day but a wonderful way to finish. And yes, I nearly ended up with me and my bike in the river!
Enjoyed that. Done almost same bike hike as you a few years ago though I prefer the upper route. Not just to avoid the bridge, if my memory serves me well the terrain after it is rough and sandy. I see you didn’t mention the controversy over the rail crossing. 😊
Great vid with the two of you in fine fettle 🤣 plan to spend a good bit of time down that area next Spring. Will I make it across the shoogly bridge or be on my way to Valhalla to meet Murray.......🥶
Fantastic video as always Murray, This brought back memories of carrying my bike over the ‘Shooglie Bridge’ whilst doing the Ben Alder 6 in the summer 😂 I really like this area, pretty accessible but has an amazing remote feel.. might try that route for my next visit 😁 Cheers, James
The Buachaille ⛰ The Buachaille ⛰ We will do it someday 😂😂😂 I was in Glencoe on Friday BIG fella to climb that very mountain again and your camper was not there 😮 Has Gerry got his own make up artist for your hikes the man’s always immaculate even hiking through bogs not a touch of mud on his trousers or boots 😂 The James Bond of the mountains 🤵🏼♂️😆
Murray, you like this area. Your second trip in as many months if I'm not mistaken? That's the way I went up Ben Alder when I did my Munro round. But I did it in the snow! I remember the Long Leachas ridge being a bit spicy. So spicy that my other half got stuck and I had to go back and rescue her!
Did the same route years ago on foot camped on col between the two Munro’s had a bad blister half way round 😢but cracking route great video thanks for sharing
Just learnt of the link between yourself, Gerry & author J D Burns; a fine combination of skills you all possess! Another fascinating & professionally made film here Murray with great camera work, tense moments (esp over that river crossing), comical banter, and obvious stamina on such a big day💪. Are the bothies still closed up there? Roll-on the next film.
Thank you - much appreciated :) In terms of the bothies, I dont tend to use them very much but as far as I am aware they are now back open (I think :)) Thanks for watching ATB Murray
Bumped into you two when you on the way back, by the castle place. You did both look pretty knackered ha ha. No wonder ! Came back in the week to have ago myself, but weather no kind so ended up doing the ones on the other side of the Bothy. Amazing place, vast. Love it 😀 Will be back next year for sure . Thanks for video guide (and map) Murray 👍
Nice to meet you on the way out. It is an epic place to visit and hope you get back next year for another adventure :) Take care and thanks for watching ATB Murray
Brilliant . Had a nice wee skinny dip under the shoogly bridge last summer . Bad move . The Clegs did their damage and bit me to shreds ! It’s some area though well worth the pain
The Shoogly Bridge may be no more. The estate have put in a new vehicle bridge just downstream and may have removed the footbridge - I couldn't see from the closest point I got to when I was in the Ben Alder area over the bank holiday weekend. There were about half and half coming in/going out that way as opposed to the stalking track on the Ericht side of the burn and no-one mentioned it. Easiest way to stop a bike being stolen (highly unlikely any ne'er do well would hike in to Culra to nick a bike) is to remove the front axle and take it (securely) with you.
Another nice bike and hike! That nasty “missing teeth” bridge with bikes …pretty hairy! I know the camera on the ascent distorts the images but it makes for a tense looking climb It’s always nice to have company on a day trip..that was a full day for both of you! Take care until the next video 🇨🇦❤️🍁🚲🚲
Yet another fabulous adventure. Thanks Murray and Gerry, you’re taking me places I now can’t get to. I wonder if it was you and Gerry we met in Barrisdale bothy back in the late 90’s. We arrived back after a heavy session in the Old Forge in a force 8 gale. Camp gone so took refuge in bothy @ 2am. We were greeted by you and Gerry (?) with wee term of endearment “ Is that you Leicester F - - - - - s!” Does it ring a bell? Fantastic work, thank you.
Hi - I haven't travelled from that route although I did venture up the Corbett opposite alder and bheoil along an excellent tarred road from the south . The cycle back down was epic (and quick!!) Take care and thanks for watching ATB Murray
Excellent video, thinking of going around that area next year with the vw camper and my border collie, can I get the van any nearer to save the long walk on the land rover tracks

That shoogly bridge is on its last legs. I don’t expect it’ll support much more traffic. 🙂Thanks Murray…and Gerry. Definitely a fine double act. 😊
Always pleasure to watch your videos 🤗🤗
Good crack! Never descends into havering......well hardly ever, very enjoyable as always and thanks for including the outakes.
Awesome 👏🤘❤️….it’s now on my hit list for next summer after watching you n Gerry show me how to go about it…thank you 🙏
