  • Framestore was pleased to join the voyage to Medieval England for King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, reuniting the studio with British director Guy Ritchie and his team. Conjuring giant elephants, magical serpents and the out-of-this-world CG environments, our Art Department worked on detailed concepts for key scenes, with VFX teams contributing a total of 437 shots.

Framestore is my favorite vfx-studio since amazing work in Prisoner of Azkaban.
I'm so excited to see what you will do for "Jungle Book" in 2018!

This is amazing nice details matte painting modeling texture details everything..

Lately I have seen so many movies where amazingly detailed modelling is ruined by uniform textures (0.11-0.19; 2.20 - 2.28), and beautiful simulations are hidden in compositing stage with lots of dust and smoke. Framestore makes amazing work, but somebody in production pipeline has to say "Enough"

Totally agree and everything is deep dark.

Well, coming from the games industry where we have to do highly detailed models to bake them down... surprisingly the models here look extremely simple and flat to me, the texture work really makes them pop up.

For me the rocky cliffs and castles look exactly as in games.

So true, but is not about the textures, more about the level of detail. Everything is maxed out, every pixel is jumping to somewhere. It's like - just because you can put in 10 billion objects in a scene, doesn't mean you should.

I really didn't like how they much the CGI in this movie, even the final battle between hero and villain (to much spinning around). I didn't think Guy Ritche was the right director for this movie (as I researched he never directed a fantasy movie before, only crime/mystery movies). I just think this movie shouldn't have used this much CGI if Warner Bros was planning on making a franchise of the King Arthur legend.
