@Carlos Davila Jr Carlos where did you buy the tickets for the ferry? I’m trying to buy a one way tickets April 17 ..but it shows that the ferry in not available
My favorite line- make sure you have sun protection because the sun is quite fierce. Live in Florida- I am definately stealing that line. Thanks. Plus, I am gonna take this trip.
Thank you. Your video provided much more information than the other videos I’ve searched regarding this Ferry. I just have a few questions: Did you book that hotel for a day or did they let you in to use the amenities? Also, what else is there to do and why’d you choose that island over the other island the ferry goes to? I’m asking because I want to go soon. Thank you in advance!
I believe, although I haven’t done it yet, that the other island is difficult to do as a day trip. The facilities at the hotel at Bimini Resorts World are open to all. You don’t need to purchase a day pass or anything to just wander around. There is a small fee to use the pool. There’s also a beach chair fee I believe if you use one at the Bimini Beach. There are other beaches though if you want to avoid that. Food is expensive at the hotel…I guess that’s how they cover the cost of the facilities.
You probably don’t need this info anymore but to answer your question about why Bimini and not any other island cause the ferry only goes one other island (Grand Bahama) and its a bit further from Florida and they only do that trip once a week they mainly just go Bimini
I'm seeing $93 plus $89 tax one way ticket is that correct? If so that costs more than a carnival cruise to many islands. Also I see by the time you get to bimini it is noon and you have to be back by 5pm. That's not a lot if time.
hey loved your videos. before boarding the ferry did you have to go through some sort of extensive checking (like something along the lines of tsa?) or did you just have to show your passport?
Hii mark .....am a tourist from kenya I have my passport of Kenya .. now my question is would they allow me to use ferry or I have to book from kenya embassy or Bahamas embassy
Thanks..the beach reminds me the beaches at Varadero, Cuba...Outstanding hotels and some of the best beaches in the world. And, I might add, alot less expensive. Three hours direct from Toronto.
Thanks for this. Think you sold me on it. Me and my wife are in Florida for a week. Did you find that there were plenty of options for food and drink even though you were only there for the day? Do the resorts like the Hilton let you go in there?
There are 2 main places to eat associated with the resort. I recommend the place at the beach Alex. There’s also a reasonable bar/restaurant at the casino.

hi Mamie, the ferry docks near the Resorts World/ Hilton resort and that is where most people stay. you can certainly stay there and return a few days later. lots of people do that. not sure whether, if you're staying somewhere else if it is convenient for that.
You have access to all the Resorts World facilities as part of your day trip ticket. Food and drinks are all extra of course, and are not cheap. But overall, in my opinion, a pretty reasonable trip
Hi Rosita, the port terminal is some sort of protected area, so i don't think there is any private parking, but i can't be sure. I didn't see any parking garage there.
Not to Miami. To Fort Lauderdale. You can take the Brightline from Fort Lauderdale to Miami, but you’ll need to Uber/taxi from the Cruise Port Terminal to the Brightline station
Ok, 1. Do you have to have a passport to get in and out. 2. For a day trip what time did you get there? 3. what time did you have to get back to the ferry?
Hi Ryann, for the day trip I believe you need an ID and birth certificate if you don’t have a passport. That’s according to other commenters on this thread so I suggest you check directly with Balearic or gobahamasplus, their agent. Arrival and departure times may vary, but you get a decent 5+ hours over there on a day trip. They also let you off first to maximize your time there. Bahamas Immigration is a breeze.
You had best check directly with the agency when booking as rules change. You definitely need some sort of picture ID, but there isn’t a border control post or anything like that.
I was in Bimini 1988 this was a nice Island less tourist only excess by Chalks Airline or Mailboat from Nassau. Now it is messed up by American tourist and big hotels all the nature of the Bimini is wracked, no reason anymore to go, looks like any other Island in the Bahamas commercialised !!!
I used to live on South Bimini for 3 months every winter back then. Resorts ruined it and the destruction of the reef for that stupid ferry & cruise ships ruined the fishing. Bimini never used to have ANY crime back then but that is no longer the case and watch out the waters are now full of huge Bull Sharks.
Extremely overpriced for what it is...absolutely not worthy. Also sea conditions on going back were terrible despite the nice weather, many people got sick. just another tourist trap
Visiting Bimini in April for the day cruise. Can’t wait for the mini get-away
You'll love it Carlos, I'm sure
One other thing worth mentioning. They blast the air-con super cold on the ferry. Bring a jacket or go outside if you can

Nice vid. Gives lots of great info as well as pretty shots of the beach on an ideal day.
Thank you. I try to give factual and honest reviews
Absolutely gorgeous 😍 we will be going there for the first time in a few months 😀 😊 thanks for the video
It’s gorgeous over there. I couldn’t believe the vibrant colors. I didn’t make them pop in the video, the color is pretty accurate
@@TravelwithMark I think the video really showed off how beautiful the colors are 🥰😊
I am a Bahamian and I've never been there 😕 must visit and catch the ferry to FL
Me too!!! I’m going alone! When are you going? 🎉🎉
Just went to Bimini . Beautiful beach. Quiet small island
Did you go to the resort or just one of the regular beaches?

You’re welcome
Great video! I need to research the cost of the Ferry ticket.

Super fierce....i live in Bahamas....sometimes i wonder if it's same sun

I bought mine at gobahamasplus. No issues, but of course I cannot endorse. But no issues at all

Truly appreciate this video! I really was not sure if this Ferry idea would make sense or be worth it but I am S O L D!! We'll be going in August 😁
Glad it was helpful!

Hi Tricia, prices may vary. If Carnival works for you, you should take it. I don’t represent the ferry in any way.
I got 2 days for Bimini
Is the Ocean Rough in december ? Bc i am getting lil Bit seasick when the Ocean is choppy
Sometimes
Thank you sir
What time did you have to check in ?
I went there an hour before, but it doesn't seem like you need to be there that early. There's not much in the way of formalities
Very informative well done!
Glad it was helpful! Thank you.
hey loved your videos. before boarding the ferry did you have to go through some sort of extensive checking (like something along the lines of tsa?) or did you just have to show your passport?
Do you mean security checks? Yes, there are, although i'd say less stringent than when flying.
Just came back didn’t know about the ferry😮💨
Now you know! For next time
Where can I buy a day pass to get into the hotel and casino?
You do not need one if you catch the ferry. Just show your ferry ticket.
If you decide to stay the night can you stay somewhere besides the casino place?
Yes you can. The ferry ticket gives you access to the resort, but you can go elsewhere.
Hii mark .....am a tourist from kenya I have my passport of Kenya
.. now my question is would they allow me to use ferry or I have to book from kenya embassy or Bahamas embassy
I'm afraid I am unaware of reentry rights for US visas. You may wish to consider an itinerary that requires only one entry into the United States
Thanks..the beach reminds me the beaches at Varadero, Cuba...Outstanding hotels and some of the best beaches in the world. And, I might add, alot less expensive. Three hours direct from Toronto.
Would be nice if one could visit there. Some people are not allowed.

When is the best time of year to go?
Weather is the same as Florida. Same hurricane season, pleasant in winter, very hot in summer
Hi mark, can I take this ferry to Bimini stay there for 3 days or so and will there be a ferry available back to Miami or Fort Lauderdale?
hi Mamie, the ferry docks near the Resorts World/ Hilton resort and that is where most people stay. you can certainly stay there and return a few days later. lots of people do that. not sure whether, if you're staying somewhere else if it is convenient for that.
Hyy are we allowed to takee food into the ferry
I don’t know. You could check directly with Balearic Ferries. There is food for sale on the ferry.

Hi Rosita, the port terminal is some sort of protected area, so i don't think there is any private parking, but i can't be sure. I didn't see any parking garage there.
How long before the boarding did you get to the port at Ft Lauderdale and again back from Bimini?
Not too much of a wait Ashvin. Maybe 45 minutes. Not a complicated procedure on either end
@@TravelwithMark is there WiFi/cell signal on the island?
There is Ashvin. You will need roaming of course, but cell signal is good
Is the ferry also used to get from Bimini back to miami?
Not to Miami. To Fort Lauderdale. You can take the Brightline from Fort Lauderdale to Miami, but you’ll need to Uber/taxi from the Cruise Port Terminal to the Brightline station
How much does it cost ?
Hi Sophie, you can Google for costs for when you want to go. There are various packages and deals available
Can I buy a ticket to go on one day and come back on another and how much was your ticket?
Yes, you can go one day and return on a different day. As for prices, I suggest you look online, as they may change. I think I used gobahamasplus.com
If you leave from the American port and return to the American port I hear you don’t need a passport?
I believe so, but please double check as rules change. You need some form of acceptable ID for sure.
Ok, 1. Do you have to have a passport to get in and out.
2. For a day trip what time did you get there? 3. what time did you have to get back to the ferry?

Do I need a negative Corvid test?
Hi Melody. Nope, no test required when I went, and unless the rules have changed you should be fine
👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you Vivine
Do needs a Visa in your passport book
Is that a question? US passport holders do not need a visa. Other passport holders need to check with the Bahamian Embassy
Need passport?
Not strictly necessary, but recommended
What...!!! You didn't hook up with some Bahama mamma's...??
Do you need to take your passport? Can you just take your birth certificate instead?
You had best check directly with the agency when booking as rules change. You definitely need some sort of picture ID, but there isn’t a border control post or anything like that.
pass port required
You didn't spend the night.
Correct @charlesoverton. Just a day trip

Hi Klaus, I don’t think you could deny though that the locals are better off with some jobs provided by tourism?
@@TravelwithMark You are perfectly correct Mark!! Just gazing at the sand, sea and sun cannot put food on our tables!!!
