Вставка
- Опубліковано 11 вер 2021
- In this episode we take the new "Broad Minded" 265 miles from Islamorada to Harbour Island, Bahamas! It was blowing 15-20 knots in our face so the seas were rough but after 8 hours and 45 minutes we finally made it.

You have arguably one of the baddest boats ever built and you realistically showed what it's like to run in a true 4'+ sea with a crew. All the guys out there who state that their boat can run 40mph in 4'+ seas are full of it. You made it a safe, comfortable crossing for your crew. Congrats on your new ride.
Thank you! Agreed on ride 🙌🏻
where did you see 4' seas?
Got a 42 prowler that would love to meet ya 🤣
4 feet seas? lol no
Enjoy the hurricane
Awesome run to shake down the new Freeman. It was great to see all the smiles. Ya'll travel safe and have a load of fun. Good thing memories don't weigh as much as gear, y'all would be way overloaded with all those great memories you're bringing back....
Micky C.
That was such a cool ride. Thanks for bringing us along!!
Been watching a lot of sailing and boating videos these past few weeks and cant stop! Love yours too!🥰
Wow capt Nick you have out done yourself again, what a rush can't wait to see what you and family and friends get into there its going to be exciting, thanks for sharing this trip with us !!!!
Wauw thats a very nice trip....nice boat good fam.and a beautiful sea
Keys to the Eleutheras in one day is just ridiculous and in that chop too, pretty amazing and cool that you brought the fam along for the adventure, thanks for taking us with you!
Thanks for watching Peter!
Nick, I stumbled across this video and wound up watching 5 or 6 of your videos, I love the Keys and the scenery you capture is amazing, i’m hooked!
Awesome boat! Congrats on your dream boat!
Thanks John 👊🏻
Cool adventure Nick. Looking forward to watching more.
Hey Stanz thanks very much for the invitation for that trip, really enjoyed it.
Even the toddler was comfortable. Awesome 👍😎😎.
Nick and Family’s thanks for taking Your Fans with You. Just found you and want to learn more about Marine Fishing and the Sweet Freeman. Peace Be With you
Right on. Love the boat and your channel. Keep up the good work 👏
Video never does justice to how big seas can be! Looked rough! Great video!
100% agreed on the waves.
Thanks for watching
Heck of a boat! Very nice work Capt.
Great grandparents Great kids Great friends Great boat Great video Great day capt Nick!
Bucket list trip for me for sure. Thanks for sharing 👍
Let’s be real. A lot can happen in 9 hours. Especially on the water, and yet modern sailors are safer then ever. Can you imagine not knowing what the weather is going to do, and having only a compass and paper map. The boat could probably drive itself anywhere it’s programmed, and do it safer then a human. Wow. Just wow.
Been doing west Palm to green turtle my whole life. Smallest crossing I saw was a 15 ft edgewater going with a 17 montauk. Such a fun time!
You sound like you definitely know the Johnson family in Gtc😄
Palm beach to west end in a 17 aquasport with 115 evinrude a bunch.
I consider myself lucky
awesome video, looking forward to the rest of them... and Jocelyn 💖
Good luck with the new boat and safe cruising. Good filming, thank you!
Nick and crew thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to visit the 242 Bahamas 🇧🇸 continue to stay safe and most of all safe traveling blessings 🙌🙏 enjoy your stay in Eleuthera God bless you all
Thank you! You all have a beautiful country
Saw your new Freeman first hand last weekend. It's amazing! Way to safely show what the boat can handle and how to navigate safely. Can't wait to get back down!!
Thanks 👊🏻👊🏻
@@StanzFam where / how do you use the restroom out there?
So fun! Thanks for the awesome videos.
No Bananas!!! Gorgeous looking boat..
Congratulations on the new Boat! It looks amazing!
Great Job Nick 🙏🏻⛱️🎣🐟😎🤪😜👍
What a great adventure! 👍 Have a blast.
Looks like a awesum time great adventure for the whole family thanks for sharing
You are living the life, no doubt. This video is definitely a top 5 of all your video's to date. Nice job
I love the Bahamas never took my own boat but that looks like the trip of a lifetime. Again so happy for you getting the new boat, hope you and the family have a great time.👍
What an AWESOME VIDEO. Beautiful boat and thanks for sharing your ride over to Bahamas.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Awesome man what an amazing Sail
Nice trip. 9 hours. Wow! Would take me 4 days on my 44’ sailboat. Maybe 25 gallons or diesel. Ha ha. But we both get there and have a blast. Done that trip quite a few time. Really nice vessel there!
I could NEVER have taken a ride that rough, for that long, kudos to the group, I'd have to have a 62' Yacht with stabilizers...
I'm with you.
Absolutely love these trips. Fishing the bahama chain has been on the bucket list. Hope u guys have safe travels.
Thank you! Hope you get over there one day 🇧🇸🇧🇸
That is one awesome boat. Thanks for showing it to us.
God dam your kids are troopers Nick!
Yeah I got two kids and I got one of them that throws up in the drop of a hat for the way I drive and those kids look like they were solid gold. It was cute to see the little girl sleeping oh, my little girl is now 19 years old
Looked like a long but FUN Trip! Hope yall had a great time
We made some memories for sure! Thanks 👊🏻
I went to the Bahamas twice in my 22" Glacier Bay cat. It handled rough seas better than most larger monohulls. I said most, not ALL. Can't wait to see this Freeman run. Yahooooooo
That was awesome 😎
Thanks for watching 🙂
That’s an awesome family trip
you know you're in the right boat when you aren't waiting for a weather window and send it regardless
or you shouldn't really do it but got lucky
It was calm
With kids
Thank you for making this video. This trip is on my bucket list. Great job videoing the trip. I could almost smell the ocean, and feel the spray on my face.
Great way to break in the new boat. Family first. Good man.
Definitely a Freeman Add there!!!!
Nice Ride......looks safe
Cats are by the safest boats(in its class) to cruise in.
Excellent Captain Nick very informative 🤙🤙🤙🤙
Looks like a fun time. I say get the bananas off the boat. I'm old school. Good luck have fun and be safe
Im so jealous!! Y'all have the best "backyard" ever. We don't have much to do in Alabama. Love love the videos!! Can't wait to come see what all we can do in the keys and the Bahamas!👍❤❤❤
Love how real your channel is. The livewell being on, done it few times myself, once with 8 Publix subs in there with a bag of ice. Opened it up and had sub soup like your chum stew!! Keep up the awesome vids and congrats on the new boat she's a beast!
Thanks!!! Haha, it happens to all of us
Not the pub subs 😭
You're living the good life and enjoying it. Cheers.
We love harbor island. Lunch over pink sands beach at Coral Sands is our favorite. Thanks for sharing, beautiful boat: congrats
Thank you : )
Such a good family! I cannot wait to fish with you guys!
Great Video!! Good to catch up with you guys, for sure. ENJOY HAPPINESS ENJOY
God what an incredible trip. Not sure if I would be confident enough climb aboard with so much water between land. And I don't know so many nautical terms but awesome boat, awesome skipper, and awesome passengers.
I don't mean to be creepy but at the 7:31 mark when the camera showed those mile-high arches I briefly forgot about the trip. You're a seriously lucky man!!
Great video!
Edit: It's obvious that crew safety was considered in every part of the crossing.. again, great job.
Thanks for watching : )
@@StanzFam
You've very welcome. Can I ask... are there cabins below the deck? Seems like on a boat this size there would be some. I've seen a salon on boats much much smaller.
Or is every square inch used to support its purpose as a fishing vessel?
Thank you
@@mckinleymac3452
I can't say that I blame you McKinley Mac. I'm a foot guy too and yes, those are beautiful arches!!
What an adventure. Congratulations on the crossing. The only downside I can see is that you have a return trip and the sense of adventure will be in the background. :)
Happy family's fishing 🦦🎣 trip ❤️⚓⛵🌹
Absolutely love the 42 Freeman. Such an amazing and capable boat.
Very nice, dont think a 42 monohull could keep up, little kids took it in stride, I've been looking at the Arrowcats which are now made in the Tampa area, hardtop galley up configuration like a downeast tuna boat but a catamaran. Thanks for the vid.
Thank you for bringing us along.
Thank you for watching
410 Gallons of Gas!!!! I had no idea it would take that much. Cool video, thanks for sharing.
Was more than expected but the rough seas were the major factor . Thanks for watching : )
Ouch, that fuel bill! But that boat is a beast. You all will have a blast.
Especially the Bahamas priced refill before the run back.
Fuel price is all relative when the boat costs over a million..... yolo
@Three Aces $3,080.00 where you getting gas at a marina for $2.50
I want to know what he does to afford that boat sign me up
@@zacharygeiger5385 hey probably operate this boat as a business. The value of the boat is 100% tax write off.
Living my dream man !!!!
Wow looks exhausting..but adventurous. I pray that you get safely to all your destinations. Thanks for the sharing.
Thank you 🙌🏻
Awesome been waiting for this video keep up the great videos 🤙🤙
Over here in Texas, bringing bananas on a boat is considered to be bad luck. I thought that was a superstition everywhere but perhaps it’s a regional thing. Nice boat!
nope its a thing in NJ too
Great start to a Stanzfam adventure looks like fun to me. All of my travels in the Caribbean were on ships -painted Gray. You know that was not near as much fun 😳
🇺🇸🇺🇸🙌🏻
Love little kids, they can sleep anywhere and in any position. Sadie was knocked out boy!! Been on a bigger boat diving in 4-6 foot waves. I am the chum bucket in that stuff. The boat handled it well.
Thanks for watching Al!
@@StanzFam wouldn’t miss it Nick.
Wow that's incredible great video thanks
I felt like I rode with you guys! Next is a 90’ viking!
You have worked you tail off to get where you’re at. Enjoying your adventures right along with you. Kinda jealous.😂
Thanks for sharing great video of family and friends, that's most important at the end of the Day 🙂
Thanks for watching!
Love the video that's definitely a beautiful boat!
What a trooper of a wife! Looked like the ride ride was a little rougher than you would have liked.
Was the fishing worth it there?
"We got Cheez-Its'. That's all you need !
One of the food groups. KE'EWL!!
@@stuartomiller-thyme6961 dan
Seagulls favorite food group
Thanks for taking us along! No better way to break the boat in by taking it to the Bahamas! And the bananas LOL. Have fun and enjoy!
Thanks Ian! Appreciate you all watching the channel
Gr8 video bud thx for sharing.really enjoyed
Thanks for watching 🙂👊🏻
$2400 to run roughly 400 miles total! Damn Son. Business is good🐠🐟🐬🦈🐋
Business is good but also 3 of us splitting it
Bananas on a boat !?!? come on Captain.
The 'Bean bag' does work great.. I mean really great. Highly recommend in smaller boats with v-hull, put the bag forward where noise isn't so much engine if not enough room and the child will sleep most the way if waves are choppy.
I know you worked hard to get that boat man I love the boat you got enjoy your trip to the Bahamas you and your kids your daughter's looks just like you brother I mean they really do good luck on your fishing and be safe on your trip have a blessed day and have a blessed trip
When I stayed at bud n Mary’s me and my friends are big fans of ur Channel so we were like we have to touch The Nick Stanz boat like we can’t not touch ur boat😂
I miss the Bahamas, I used to work on Andros Island as a contractor for the US Navy at it's deep water ranges there. Loved the fishing.
Andros is a cool place!
What a great video great boat and trip
Wow! long trip, wish to have the boat like this in my life
Sweet stretch … Stanz! In your preparations;
Life raft aboard? 42’ ate it up … understand behind screen cannot appreciate the swells but looks looks it handle it well! Thx for taking us with you!
Great Vlog. I am from Ontario Canada, 410 gallons here would be 2600.00 in gas
It would cost probably the same to fly 7 people from FLA to the Bahamas.
Today@@crazyralph6386 3500 now as of today @ 2.30 L for marine grade
@@hockeynutt9434 i wouldn’t doubt it! I trailer my Lund with a Merc V 150hp, and only fill it with premium at the gas bar, and it’s $2.23L in Northern ON!!! Don’t even ask me what 4 stroke motor oil goes for!
Fishing derbies is now a rich man’s sport, which is exactly why I cancelled 4 already? Not worth the gas and hotel for a tourney with only maybe 50-60 people?
4200€ in the netherlands, 1600litre at 2,7€ per litre, that is a very american “bigger better” ish trip, only for the very few
This is awesome!!! So blessed!!
Thank you for watching. Blessed for sure 🙏🏻
Excellent video well done 👏✔
42 ft. and no cabin. Might be fast but what's the rush. I'll stick with my 46 Bertram and you would be better in that Garlington you were once a guest on; a REAL Spt. Fish.
I grew up on a cruiser.
It is a different type of boating, I would want a cruiser for my family.
Why aren’t the kids in life jackets?
@@verucasalt2391 You already know the answer to the life jacket question
@@porterbrooks4631 do tell!
@@dreswan1 they don’t have to be
This boat beats the sh!+ out of a 46 Bertram
Whewwww 800 gallons of fuel= 6,000lbs
800 lbs of humans
1,000 lbs of gear, 1,000 lbs of groceries, ice and water.... point 7 mpg not bad at that speed and total weight!!
Agreed. Heavy load for sure
Amazing...injoy the holiday..
Living the DREAM. AWESOME MAN
Bruh, ditch the bananas!
Too late
For real
kids... nutritional benefit FAR OUTWEIGH ''superstition'' ;) well .... eh yea
Or go to a closer location in Bahamas.
Bananas are goooooood
Thanks for sharing this. Super cool…friggin AMAZING boat and gear…wow!
Dumb question - When on an open run like this especially in choppy seas…shouldn’t everyone wear life vests?
I know they are hot and not as fun…just would hate for something bad to happen while in open sea and no one to help. Stay safe!
Thanks. It was an exciting trip.
Life jackets are definitely a good idea.
Awesome ride!!! Very impressive!
Excellent Bunkie! DBL Wides min for main cottage though with another container across the ends for can & bedroom.
Gorgeous German Sheppard
I heard you make a statement about tipping the ppl at customs office,? Do you always tip them and any other customs reps, and what amount does that look like, I always wan5 to make sure I take care of them!! Then I think u said something about a extra tip because they stayed longer for you after hours? Sorry don’t mean to be personal, just never been and always appreciate anybody’ that’s been their prior!, Great videos!
Great question
This is a really good, real, video. It’s quite hard to represent true sea state in a video, so you need an experienced captain to narrate. Thanks for the effort to show the reality!
Thanks Charlie! Appreciate the comment. The camera never does the waves justice
The waves are babies and the camera showed that, and as proof Stan do t fish rough water.
@@ryeckley7267 this is an inexperienced comment. No 42’ boat is going to pound like that in 3’ water going 25 knots. It may appear like 3’ from the camera angle, but I bet it was closer to 5’.
At 8:00 was the worst of it but the waves are not that bad, mixed up washing machine but not bad, it’s the boat or captain that is unable to handle a head sea into a mixed up wave direction.
Wow that is a awesome boat!!!!
The ocean is beautiful!
