I have a '22 MTS V4 PP - DNA called me 3 days in a row last week about the ECU update. I called my SA at the local dealership, and he was able to give me the 1st appointment yesterday (Sat.) to perform the update, as well as perform the routine checks. While I was there, since my 2-yr warranty is going to expire in May, I ended up purchasing an extended warranty, which will provide coverage until 2027. Note: It's annoying that ROW Ducati MTS owners get a 4-yr factory warranty, yet we in the US only get a 2-yr factory warranty... 😠
Hi Rembo just reading some of the comments and I got my update on my V4s and like a few others and a full exhaust system fitted by my local dealer and after the update I have lost the nice loud bang when going up gears after 6000rpm ..told my local dealer and they said Ducati have said that they have only had 1 other complaint , I don't even like riding my bike anymore .. wonder if ducati r going to do anything to put it back ..
Thanks for this brother. I was also wondering why they were constantly calling me. I'm curious because the last time my V4S went in to the shop for an "update", it was in the hospital for a month trying to do the update. Story for another time. On another note, as a Texan, enjoy COTA! Welcome to Tejas!
Hey Rembo! Thank you as always for a most wonderful video. Ok, heard about the update from 4K motoring and called my local dealer and spoke with the head mechanic. He checked my VIN and told me that I did not need the update. My Multi is a 2022 V4S without the upgraded exhaust, just a "plain jane" Multi V4S. Curious if you hear anything different. My challenge is I about 200 miles from my dealer, so have to be a bit mindful when going to the dealer. BTW, they are top notch and have always treated me well. Ok, thanks again and ride safe! BTW, I changed my rear tire out on Saturday, as always, I consulted your videos for tips on the tire change and chain adjustment. Next weekend, front tire and yes, will follow your wise guidance!
Hey Dave, thanks for reaching out. They actually just called me again today and I had to tell them to please take me off the list, I already had it completed. This makes me think this must be very important because this is now five times that they called me. I suppose that maybe this is only for those people that have the exhaust. I really don’t know that’s a great question actually. Thanks again, Dave.
On June I purchased an used MY'21 MTS V4S from New York with 2'200 miles. Done the oil change, annual service and ECU update at the Ducati dealer here in Albania, Europe. Now I have encountered problems when I shift with quick-shifter from 5th to 6th gear on high RPMs. It will rev out and stay on the 5-th gear. Not always but most of the times. I sent my bike to the dealer. They said that is a common problem also on the newer bikes that persist also after the dealer Update. Any advice what should I do? My bike now has 4'200 miles.
Sygic and ducati connect work sometimes unless I'm trying to show somebody how they work, then people see that it don't work, and sygic was always trying to take me on some sort of exploration adventures, driving next to highways for an exit or two instead of getting on for no reason . For suspension just set everything on hardest and max out preload for any spirited/performance riding. Softest settings for highway, something in-between for badly paved twisties.
Hello Rembo, greetings from Spain, I have already made the update and I will tell you I have the complete Aktapovic Evo system and with this update it no longer sounds like before, those wonderful explosions when changing while accelerating or when downshifting have disappeared and I have also observed that for the bike to do a wheelie with DCW at 2 in Sport mode I now need makes it take it to the red line of revolutions I did not like this update, I suspect it is due to a Gate diesel like WW happened to it in its day with emissions and motorcycles that in a short time will pass in Spain at least Environmental inspections in less than two years the first units that were delivered.. ...
I did this update 1 week ago and feel better fuel consumption. I got 5.2 consumption of my regular trip Pattaya- Bangkok(before was 6.3 minimal). Best update ever) And qs become better when you drive fast for 3-4 and 4-5 gears switch. And all who plan this update must to know that it take 4-6 hours. Not quick) Oh. in consumption describe i meant liters/100km, you can transfer in yours mpg)
Interesting. I have the V4 Rally (2024) and have not received anything regarding an update, so it may be very model specific. I found Sygic worked well on my first trip but that my iPhone was not happy about navigating full time. It became very hot, and I noted that the USB charging was not keeping up. I added the Zumo XT2 (worth the upgrade; order from Chromeburners), wiring directly from the Garmin wires into a male JST JMPF two-pin connector (so, not using the supplied Ducati splice lead). By the way, I’ve seen YT videos of people trimming the cover off the Ducati pigtail. That’s unnecessary. Just warm it slightly with a hair dryer or heat gun, and that outer cover slides right off. Use the TFT screen adjust knob to park the screen between detents in order to route the Garmin cable behind the screen instead of next to it. I was eager to take delivery of the V4 Rally in part so I could ride to COTA, but had major foot surgery and will be hobbling around in a surgical boot. See you there!
Just got an email from Ducati to come in for a free update, and after 16ks tyres . Still lots of tread left but just squared off from to much hi way riding.
Cheers Rembo, I got the standard email notice and read on the forum we hat it was for. Wasn"t worried about QS as I rarely use it and never at redline anyway so to me it's not a critical update, but it's done 👍. Now when my cute little girlfriend tells me to do something.......that's a critical update 😆😁 You look well prepped for COTA, so enjoy the ride 👍
No point, if you bought it new then you're losing $10,000 at the dealership. Get an RS otherwise you're likely going to feel like you wasted your money.
I have a '22 MTS V4 PP. Go ahead and get it - the '24 RS is $10k more and it is more oriented for high-rpm riding, whereas the PP is a better all-around daily rider & canyon road carver. The RS also has shorter maintenance intervals due to the Desmo valvetrain vs the traditional rocker arm/shim & bucket architecture on the PP. You also lose the tail trunk mount on the RS, which means the panniers are your only hard storage option.
@@aeroman5239 it's only 6.4 more and will likely hold value better, top box tail section and mount can probably be retrofitted or have some aftermarket options, even desmo service interval is longer than anyone needs unless they do crazy miles, dry clutch is a bit dumb, and there's less power under 10.5k and less torque from the engine always, although shorter gearing likely makes up for it + the engine is more exciting to rev out and has adjustable engine braking. I kind of wish I waited for RS or m1000xr instead of getting a pikes peak last year, albeit I expected the desmo multi to also have carbon wheels, bigger difference in power, and maybe more adjustable suspension.

I just had my update done and unfortunately I have to take the bike back to the dealer. It’s chugging and lunging something horrible. Died twice. I think the update changed timing/fueling. Did you get notified by Ducati for this important ECU update?
Nope, gotta love that.
I got an email a long time ago as well as a phone call recently.
Not yet…

Hey Brother! Happy Easter! Glad you’re feeling better. Ride safe. Hopefully, I’ll finally get to COTA for the GP in ‘25 once I’m relocated.
Thanks Kevin. Hope to see you there in 2025.

I don’t know what to tell you because this should be handled by Ducati. I’m not experiencing that problem.
Thank you for the video, informative. You’re using both settings for your cardo though I don’t understand?
I have two Cardo units. That might help clarify.
What happened to the RC 390? You had a clip about Fuelx you were going to add. Does that bike have something to do with your back issue? 😳
I added the Fuel X and did one track weekend. It has nothing to do with my back but my back is keeping me from doing track days -----for now.
