Saffron is 48 years old now. It's a stark reminder that your youth is nothing but a fleeting moment in time. It's important to take full advantage of your prime years. I'm 35, and when I look back at this time in my life, it almost seems so far back that it was nothing but a dream, or that it never actually happened. It's truly amazing how fast time passes.

The best thing about music in the 90's was the sheer diversity, and rawness in some instances. Fast forward 15 years and it just became sanitized and samey.
Adam Ball spot on , I love everything from Smiths (ok not quite 90’s !) to rave and even a lot of ‘pop’ was far superior ! Is it old age and fogey’s speaking or did we have it all ???
Everyone used to appreciate music coz it'd either be luck of the radio or they'd have to go out and get it themselves. I like youtube and stuff but now everyone just copies coz it's what people are used to and with quickly grab onto because of familiarity and it feeling like a safer bet.

Off to see Saffron and Republica in Manchester in just over two weeks for the 4th time as they are doing a "Electric Ladies Tour" with Toyah Wilcox right now. Have met them all several times and they are really cool people. Long may they live and the music they have created, and are still creating for the world to enjoy!
Was listening to Republica songs in the car the other day, and my daughter (teen) liked it. She thought it was a contemporary band. She was surprised to find out that the songs were from the 90's. "Daddy Rocks!", I guess, hahaha.
I'm 53 and even now this kicks my arse when i need to get going. We wonder why kids today feel an affinity to 80s and 90s music, this is a perfect example of why! In turbulant times when there's little hope, music like this makes you feel like nothing can hold you back and kids today desperately need to feel to some hope and optimism. Shit will get better in time but until then crank up the 1990s!
we had no idea how amazing we had it in the 90s. amazing tunes like this, no mobile phones, no social media. Anyone who thinks we live in the best times now wasn't alive in the 90s! I'd give anything to go back to the 90s!
Analog mobile phones existed in the 90s. Back then we called them cellular phones. They were expensive and you were lucky to get 30 minutes on a battery charge. Plus you also had to pay for calls received. Every call was roaming. And the phones were freaking big. During the first half of the decade it used to be a luxury to own a mobile phone. I didn’t get one until 1995. We didn’t have tablets, iPods, iTunes or any kind of streaming music. Napster came into existence in 1999. Most people who bought music got them on CDs. Vinyl pretty much vanished. Cassettes still existed but were beginning to make their exit. Virgin Music, Tower Records and The Wherehouse was where we bought our music. The only streaming audio that existed only on computers were RealPlayer, Windows Media Player and QuickTime. Early Internet radio stations were played on those platforms but the audio quality was terrible and 28.8K dial-up modems were not made for streaming audio or video. The audio was like AM radio analog, not stereo.
I’m 31 in October and was born in 1993. I have vivid memories of this on MTV as a kid. Watching music videos was an enjoyable way to kill time like the simpsons - then the internet came along

@@charlescameron6017 That's a good guess; my dad loves history of all kinds! After thinking it over, I realized that he probably hoped it was something in Spanish, since he was learning it at the time.
I love the energy of this song Republica rocks! and it never gets old. All of the music genres we had back in the '90s was so much freedom of expression.
I really love the energy that the song/video portrays, it gives an adrenaline kick. If the video was boring or slow then it wouldn't do justice to the song. In my opinion the video fits the song, it adds a rawness or uniqueness to it.
I really love that 3EB is your avatar. Fun fact no one will care about: The original cover art wasn't red. It's now considered very rare and that's the version I had in the 90's.
Also it is a genius way to make sure EVERYTHING can transition together. If they all start or end with a zoom, you can piece it together a million different ways.
I bought this album used in the late '90s, a completely random impulse buy, and was shocked at how catchy it was, especially this U.S. mix. Great stuff.

This was the song that reminds me of Europe in 1997 - the tour guide used to play this on our bus EVERY MORNING to motivate us for the upcoming day.........fantastic memories - thanks Judy & Dave if you guys are still around.
:)
Ready to go
Ready to go
You're weird, in tears
Too near and too far away
He said, "Saw red"
Went home, stayed in bed all day
Your T-shirts dish dirt
Always love the one you hurt
It's a crack, I'm back, yeah,
I'm standing on the rooftops shouting out
Baby, I'm ready to go
I'm back, I'm ready to go
From the rooftops, shout it out
It's a crack, I'm back, yeah,
I'm standing on the rooftops having it
Baby, I'm ready to go
I'm back, I'm ready to go
From the rooftops shout it out
Shout it out
You sleep too deep
One week is another world
(Big mouth) Big mouth
(Drop out) Drop out
You get what you deserve
You're strange, insane
One thing you can never change
It's a crack, I'm back, yeah,
I'm standing on the rooftops shouting out
Baby, I'm ready to go
I'm back, I'm ready to go
From the rooftops, shout it out
It's a crack, I'm back, yeah,
I'm standing on the rooftops having it
Baby, I'm ready to go
I'm back, I'm ready to go
From the rooftops shout it out
Shout it out
Ready to go
Abused, confused
Always love the one that hurt ya,
Hurt ya, hurt ya, hurt ya
It's a crack, I'm back, yeah,
I'm standing on the rooftops shouting out
Baby, I'm ready to go
I'm back, I'm ready to go
From the rooftops, shout it out

It's a crack
Baby, I'm ready to go
Baby, I'm ready to go

Saffron is 48 years old now. It's a stark reminder that your youth is nothing but a fleeting moment in time. It's important to take full advantage of your prime years. I'm 35, and when I look back at this time in my life, it almost seems so far back that it was nothing but a dream, or that it never actually happened. It's truly amazing how fast time passes.
That's freaking scary, it's starting to feel that way for me :( turning 30 soonish. Time never went this fast growing up
dude I'm already feeling like depressed about turning 28 next february and now I feel like killing myself 😟 I guess the only thing we can do it's trying to make the best we can day by day 😐
35 also, and even memories of the comparative 24/7 party event that being 30 was brings me to genuine tears sometimes.
Shaun Daskam hey wait til you turn 50+ and you lose all of your compatriots--Leon Russell, 2/3 of ELP, your precious dad,Prince, David Bowie,George Michael, pretty much every one you grew up with; makes you feel really lost.
Wait till you are 100
Anyone else think this might be one of the greatest music videos of all time?
Definitely - but I feel very sick

I love your mlp character
Has a positive kind of aggression, determination and powerful drive. Love it, including the shifts between hard and soft.
The best thing about music in the 90's was the sheer diversity, and rawness in some instances. Fast forward 15 years and it just became sanitized and samey.
It's all ghetto and country now.
Word
The '80s and '90s were pretty great for music.
THE LEGENDARY RECORD BREAKING
TOP THRILL DRAGSTER brought me here!!! "Keep arms down, head back, and hold on!" CEDAR POINT "America's Roller Coast" BABY I'M READY TO GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This song defines the 90s... So much original and creative energy back then!
God damn, this is the quintessential nineties poprock song if you ask me. Brings me straight back to the good old MTV days.
MTV was great back then!
Back in 95-96 MTV was awesome..
25 years later... still as fresh as yesterday.
Off to see Saffron and Republica in Manchester in just over two weeks for the 4th time as they are doing a "Electric Ladies Tour" with Toyah Wilcox right now.
Have met them all several times and they are really cool people. Long may they live and the music they have created, and are still creating for the world to enjoy!
this song is already amazing but the music video just puts it over the top
I've been always listening this song since it's debut!! Cassette, CD, MP3 and now Spotify!
I had the maxi single cassette with some great mixes of it!
Nothing screams mid-90's dance alternative rock than this song... ahhh nostalgia
This and garbage's stupid girl.
Was listening to Republica songs in the car the other day, and my daughter (teen) liked it. She thought it was a contemporary band. She was surprised to find out that the songs were from the 90's. "Daddy Rocks!", I guess, hahaha.
Without a doubt bro.👍🔥❤️
It's 80s or 90s for me, the best two decades for music in history!
Everything was going in the right direction until Nickelback showed up. I blame them for where we are now.
And don’t forget violent video games 😁
The 90s were the LAST great times in this world's history
90s were incredible, great songs, great videos and outstanding female performers
I miss the great music of 80s and 90s.
For sure. Music like this nowadays would change the world!
Same
I’m 31 in October and was born in 1993. I have vivid memories of this on MTV as a kid. Watching music videos was an enjoyable way to kill time like the simpsons - then the internet came along
Was a teenager in the 90’s, so I recall all these songs.
Now 42 years old, lol.
I was in my 30's bring back the early 90's!
10yrs to go this song from Vegas Vacation.
41 here....this song led to a very fun date night
I can't can't relate because I'm not in my 40s but I would have to say that the 90s had such great songs
My brother. Or my sister, not sure which and it does not matter. 46 here. Let's do some listening.I know where to find us some beatbox.
90’s Music Was Just So Special For Us Growing Up
Just gonna say that I'm a full on metalhead at heart, but this is one of those non-metal bands that will be with me always! This song lives in my head rent free, and I'm totally ok with that! 😁
I'm appreciative of all the love!!! 🤘🤘
You should check out the 2010 remix. It's 🔥
Will do sir.
Just listened, was not disappointed!!
@@charlesfarrell5216 I only discovered it existed a few months ago. But I listen to it all the time now.
Many of us are still listening to this in 2024 Not a good time for music right now so where do we go. Back to the basics of 1960-1980 s music
My dad mistakenly bought this CD back in the 90s, thinking it was something different (not sure what). He shrugged and said, "You want this?" I went from "who are these guys?" to instant fan.
Thanks, Dad!
Great story...!
Maybe your dad thought it was a startling new rendition of The Battle Hymn of the Republic (if he's like a Civil War buff or something).
@@charlescameron6017 That's a good guess; my dad loves history of all kinds!

This would excite the hell out of me to wake up to this. I probably wouldn't need coffee after.
Saffron is one of the best entertainers I've ever seen on a stage, a hell of performer, you buy anything she sings.
Dont know why but this song gives me so much energy when out running. its like a second wind!
I love the energy of this song Republica rocks! and it never gets old. All of the music genres we had back in the '90s was so much freedom of expression.
90s best time ever. This song reminds me of high school. Good times will never forget.
Not better then the 80s
My childhood was amazing in the 80's, but wouldn't change my teenage years in the 90's.
Saaame. High school in the late 90s was amazing
In the late nineties when the Nashville predators NHL team first started, this song played before the start of every home game. It was epic !
Still the number one song at US sporting events
I dont understand how that song has so few views. it should have at least 500 million views. This song is super good. Definately one of my favorites
I really love the energy that the song/video portrays, it gives an adrenaline kick. If the video was boring or slow then it wouldn't do justice to the song. In my opinion the video fits the song, it adds a rawness or uniqueness to it.
This
I really love that 3EB is your avatar. Fun fact no one will care about: The original cover art wasn't red. It's now considered very rare and that's the version I had in the 90's.
Also it is a genius way to make sure EVERYTHING can transition together. If they all start or end with a zoom, you can piece it together a million different ways.
As much as I loved the 80's, the 90's had so much more going on, and amazingly great by any decades standards.
Saffron was the shit back in 2010ish.great energy
Wow!! This lady is sooo exciting, energetic, bomb blasting!! My blood rolls all the time when she plays......brilliant!!
This song never gets old.
90s Brit power pop at its finest. Turn this on and crank the volume up.
I bought this album used in the late '90s, a completely random impulse buy, and was shocked at how catchy it was, especially this U.S. mix. Great stuff.

This song is so much heavier than I remember it being. Wow.
There's the original that's a "little" less intense. Still good but this one I thinks better

Go to Cedar Point and ride Top Thrill Dragster. I guarantee you’ll hear this song.
That's why I said relative obscurity, since 12m views in 10 years isn't that much for a song as great as this compared to others.

Ok…im black too. Music is universal.
I love how this was shot and edited. It's just so addicting to watch. It's a cool tune and it really moves. I've always though it had a B-52s quality to it when she sings the title of the song.
It definitely does. That’s why it still sounds good today. It’s just a well written song with a classic chorus.
