Nice build. I built a simular 408W stroker a few years ago but kept it NA and smaller 185AFR heads and an Ed Curtis custom built cam and kept it EFI and stock A9L ECU. Very street friendly fun foxbody. It dynoed 458 rwhp. Got my 351 from a mid 90s bronco out in California and had CHP build me a blueprinted street/strip shortblock out of it and ship it to me in Indiana. I can imagine how much prices have gone up since I built mine. FJB. Good luck! Have fun when it's done!
Just happened to run into this vid. Been out of hotrods for 25 years and this made me rcall highschool shop class, where i owened a 79 5.0 fox body mustang. I was more of a chevy guy i guess i knew more about them anyway you proably knew i didnt i thought it would be like swapping . chevy 305 with 350---wrong- in the late 80s the aftermarket was not what it became --o yes the oil pan wouldnt fit 351 wind in fox body, my old shop teacher knew his business after days looking thru the massive blue engine parts mountain he found it the only it around for states i think it was a 1970s ford 4x4 oil pan that would fit. SORRY 4 LONG MESSAGE. The other i wanted a comp i think brand cam a 280 duration. The old x drag racer who owened the shop told me for street racing it might be too much for idle,, So he talked me into a new cam that had just came out a 270 duration but you had too run a 302 firing order on the 351 windsor it ran great .however years later while at work my dad who dont know cars sold it. Dad told me the guy keeped telling the person with him that the firing order was wrong. Tried too call guy but he thought he had got away with a deal. bet he never figured that out.
Looks like a nice build by a quality builder, my only question is why you had to send your block all the way to Michigan when there are top-quality Ford builders all over the Country, especially in New England? Anyway, good luck with your Ford-powered racer. BTW I built my 408 with a Dart Iron Eagle so I know Ford builds get expensive.
My local builder backed up on work and was charing stupid prices. Even with shipping was still a better deal. Ford Strokers is a very reputable SBF builder and he makes the process easy. I already had my crank and had a block. If not for the Dart block shortages I'd have gone 427W. This build went far beyond just doing the motor and costs went up accordingly :)
@@MrStangdawg Hell yeah!!! Well hopefully it last a while for you lol. I had a 331 in my coupe and traded it for a D1 Pro charger and sold it and put that money towards my 427W
Can you send me some advice. I have a 74 block 351w. If I went 427 (assuming i could) would you still go with a dart block. Looking to keep it small numbers around 500 hp or less because the car is very light and small. Thanks
@@Big-Lex124 make sure you know your end goals. A Dart block uses a different crank than a Windsor block so if you change your mind you have to buy a new crank again.
@@MrStangdawg Nice. I am doing a 427w myself. Also have 205 renegade heads with a carb super vic. Going to run the terminator x stealth kit. I've been keeping it secret from my friend. He thinks I'm building a 351w with used 185afr heads lol.
@@I_like_turtles_67 I am doing a ProM EFI system. Got a bunch a videos I"m cranking out with more how-tos I sent my term x back and bought the ProM since it has OEM style connectors.

Is isn't him, it's the lack of available aftermarket blocks there has been a huge backlog. And then when Dart started getting more blocks out to customers, all the guys who had been waiting created a backlog. Most decent engine builders have backlogs unfortunately.
Nice. I'm pretty sure if I turned up the boost I can get into the 650 range. I'll definitely do a dyno vid when I get to that point. With the stock 351W block I'm going to probably limit the boost to 10-12 pounds to keep it safe.

How much did CHP charge you to build your motor
@@jawaskiconner8695 Just looked at the invoice, $3,337 and that included $275 shipping.
Excellent video and beautiful motor. Thanks for sharing! 🔥 🎉
Thanks for watching!

Mama the only thing I see missing was a stud girdle on your Mains caps that would helped tremendously on your mains.
Great video Ford power forever baby
You know it!
nice!
Other than that it's a nice build 👍👍

I just got my Dart shp block with billet main caps 427W with tfs hi port heads etc going in my 93 coupe finally finished.
nice, if I ever blow up this motor, next step is Dart

If you put the right cam in there, you'll be amazed at the power it will make just NA.
This build was centered around the Vortech. If I was to do an NA build I'd go Dart 427

Not ideal to use a stock block for 427 that's when you want aftermarket block.

I've heard the SHP blocks are taking forever to get.
How close were the AFR 205s and super victor ports out of the box?
I'm not sure I'll ask engine builder. Using an Edelbrock elbow with a Ti race trim Vortech I'll have enough boost that it won't matter 😀

Headers made by RCI. Company now out of business. They are 1 3/4. If I was doing this again I'd go custom headers.
His prices went up significantly and wait time is currently near 11 months

Yes I have a noise in my driver side head area now
Is it NA? Can you share your build? I'm currently planning to build 408w that will output ~600hp RWHP so searching for tested builds
