  • Well this came out of NOWHERE. Never did I ever think I'd say I'd be ordering one of these trucks. Never. But I was so impressed that I decided it was time to give it a try.
This is just a super impromptu video with no real outline. I just wanted to share the news with you guys and give you some of my thoughts on why I was so impressed with this 2024. I genuinely can't wait to get this new truck and give it a try!
I can't wait to bring you guys some videos and I'll be very exited to see how I feel on it compared to my Ram now.

I recently sold my Ram and it came down to Ford or GM. Both were very nice but ended up going with the Ford Powerstroke but was a close one and really came down to who offered the best deal. Only thing that remotely concerned me is the Allison branded transmission. Think it was Randys transmission that tore down one next to the Ford and there were some differences that may or may not turn out to be issues in the long run.

I’ve owned all three brands, all in Diesels. They all make great trucks. In 2022 I ordered my first RAM, a limited 3500 Mega cab with the HO and Aisin, trading my GMC 3500 Denali crew short bed. I like the ride of the GMC but I warped my brakes pulling only 9k lbs in the Dakotas because the GMC’s exhaust brake is literally useless. After owning RAM, i will not even consider a GMC or Ford until they realize an effective exhaust brake, its a safety issue. I took my Ram on a 11 mile 10% grade and the Ram exhaust brake held me at 28 miles per hour without touching the brakes. You simply cannot do that in a GMC or a Ford. GMC is great for more of a daily driver but there is a reason Hot Shotters run Ram’s way more followed by Ford and GM is last. Ram’s are definitely safer. Again, I am not brand biased, i’ve owned 7 diesel HD’s of which 3 were GMC’s. Again nice ride but the Ram simply out classes it in the pulling category. I hope you enjoy your truck, again they are nice.

I know for a fact I will miss my exhaust brake on my Cummins. I did watch TFL's test and it looks like the 2024s are much much better so I'll be curious to see how it performs compared to the Ram. I like all the brands too and would love to own them all. I may end up doing something like giving the GMC to my other half and getting another Ram when they come out with a new truck finally. I will say on my test drive it did feel like it was doing something when I had the exhaust brake on also. It wasn't enough time behind the wheel to truly feel it out but there was at least something there.

Enjoy your new ride. We really liked the GMC, I just didn’t know what we were really missing with an exhaust break until we had the RAM. You are spot in with the room in the bed as well. When they have significant improvements to the EB, I’ll be another potential customer. The ride is really nice. Enjoy!

@JustTrucknAround related to the last info exchange, I flipped back. Given the problems with the 2022 Cummins experienced by PD Diesel, and the latest issue pending with the EPA related recall and how that would potentially impact performance and what I believe will be reduced truck value, I went back to GMC today and traded my 2022 MegaCab Limited for a 2024 Denali Ultimate 2500. Just came off the Semi with 1 mile on it. It has the 3500 rear springs and 12 inch rear. Still concerned about the exhaust brake but we’ll see how it does. No doubt the seating and legroom up front has noticeably more room, I will miss the back seat storage and cab space, look forward to the larger bed and the ride is as nice as I remember in my last GM 3500. But I still maintain the RAM is built better to tow. I look forward to getting back to standard 15-40 oil vs. the thinner more expensive oils RAM runs to pick up efficiency. Still impressed by RAM but looking forward to more comfortable road trips. Team GMC, I’m back!

I had the exact Ram you have, and bought a 24 limited HO. Seats are better than my 22, exhaust brake is better, mirrors are a game changer, and the new cluster is incredible. Haven’t been in the new ultimate yet,but I heard they are great.

Come Thanksgiving, I’m getting out of my Denali Ultimate and into a Ram because of issues with the infotainment system that they can’t fix. My father in law has a High Country with the same issues and they can’t fix his either.

I had a 2024 2500 Ultimate I bought in May 2023, it got bought back in August. Had oil leak, coolant leak, parts not available, steering wheel issue, radio infotainment issues that they couldn't fix. I traded in a 2021 Ram 3500 Longhorn for it and I went back and bought a 2024 Ram 3500 Longhorn in October

I went from a 21 ram 3500 longhorn to a 24 3500 ultimate had my gmc for couple weeks it drives and rides much better than the ram did has plenty of power and tech 10 speed is very smooth but I don’t like the exhaust brake at all that’s the only thing I miss from the ram

Congratulations Buying new GMC. Had good experience with one. But now RAM 2500 6.7 2022 new Zero issues ❤ it
Ride was drastically improved by putting on Carli level 2.5 inches and fox shocks. Smoother ride and drive than ANY 1500! Dealerships definitely come into play. Drove new GMC and Ford before purchasing RAM just can’t bring myself to drive butt ugly Toyotas. Look like middle school art design class. Sorry life too short to drive ugly truck. 😂

I had a 2020 Denali 2500. Also a 2020 RST 1500 with the cloth seats. Both truck seats are hard as a rock, absolutely terrible.. Ram and Ford seats are 1000x better. Hopefully GM they changed the seats this time around.

Definitely a preference issue based on ones body size and contour but I’ve experienced the same. I agree with him that the space is a bit more but it is a fairy common observation that the seat comfort in the GM trucks are stiffer.

    • @natehawkins2910
      @natehawkins2910 Рік тому

I agree! For 24, Ford is softest, ram is next and GM is horribly stiff and not much padding material. My buns don’t like GM hd seats at all. I just traded my 23 lariat HO Powerstroke for a 24 limited longhorn Cummins. I like rams seats better than fords new plush ones honestly. Firmer is kinda better than too soft.

Im a ram guy aswell but they are not doing a good job upgrading their trucks i have a bighorn 2020 cummins and honestly i drove a 2024 and my truck feels like its more quality im thinking of going to gmc

SAME. Drove a 23 the other week (limited longhorn 3500) and the leather felt cheaper, the seatbelts felt cheaper, the dash was super laggy. My 22 feels nicer. Sticker on the truck was 106k. A night edition mega cab dually is pushing 115k, I wouldn't even buy them with the large discounts now. They've gotta do better

Once This truck comes in and you realize the truck is gonna be $95k and your gonna get $5000 less then you think for trade in you will back out just like you did on the ram 3500 you ordered lol.. all trucks are worth nothing right now and new GMs have barely any discounts cause of their new interior (this year in Hd’s)

O-H io here…I just went from 23 HO Powerstroke to 24 Ram Cummins …I can’t stand the cheap plastic inside the GM 24 trucks. Soooo cheap. Duramax is ehh to drive. Fords HO was a rocket, and efficient. GM is just…so GM lol I like my 24 limited Longhorn Cummins interior tho!

I dunno the interior blew my mind in the GMC and I'm in a Limited Longhorn right now, it takes a lot to somewhat impress me with interiors these days and I liked it. I would love to drive an HO power stroke sometime soon
