8:44 Hello, I'm the singular scouse person in your audiance daniel, So I have came to answer your question lol Basically, the 10/10a/10b is ran by both arriva and stagecoach because of the "quality network" partnership - Which exists on these routes, as well as the 17, 30, 53, 471, 472, 14, 14a, 14b, 14x, 86, 86a, and 86d, that basically means that Merseytravel pays Stagecoach and Arriva copius amounts of money to work together, accept eachother's tickets, and run together. In the case of the 10 routes, they're getting properly branded bio powered enviro 400 city buses for them next year, which from what I've seen, has a new "metro" livery instead of Stagecoach or Arriva, with their logo plastered above the windscreen on them, they actually look kind of cool, maybe more of the quality routes will get them eventually :)
The 707 is better than the 700 and 717 in my opinion, because of liveries it’s in, but the thing I don’t like on desiro cites are the iron board seats because they are uncomfortable.
For creator that I forgor the name of💀 The 707 is now being used by southeastern railway but can still see SouthWestern railway 707's for some stupid reason

In my opinion, these are brilliant trains and perfect for their purposes. The one exception to this is when the class 700 operates long-distance mainline journeys, such as Cambridge to Brighton as they can be very uncomfortable and lack some onboard features such as power outlets or armrests.

Whilst I don’t live with SWR, I am sort of close to the Hounslow loop line and getting a 707 can be annoying. It’s especially annoying for those long services the 717s and 707s go without a toilet (like the Stevenage, and Windsor services)
@@MaverickHunterDaniel Not been very active as I'm now out of work so can't afford to get about much. Other than that, I'm well thank you. I will put out a few vids at my local station when I can but it gets boring just filming those awful units lol :)
I don't mind the seats. But then I sit on plastic most of the day so some cushioning is greatly appreiated, even if it is some (and it's that or the 376 and I know what I would prefer - the 707). The 700s for Thameslink have been transformational in terms of capacity. Glad that the DfT didn't order them as 4 cars, as now it kinda forces Thameslink to run 12 car Brighton to Bedford (IET TOCs should take note when running 5 cars), meaning no short formations. The ATO makes them far greater than the 319s, and can offer so much more from Central London than the existing fleet would've ever dreamed of.

I Mean, Thameslink Could Have Ordered A Dual-Voltage, All 7-Car Version Of The Class 345 For The Sutton Loop To Combat The Short Platforms At St Helier
8 and 12 cars are good for the Thameslink core, but you see, everything comes at a cost, and since the Thameslink trains have to travel north of London meaning that the budget was reduced by 98.23%, which is why the 700s have ironing board seats. This is all a joke, there's no good reason to have ironing board seats, I'm sure the ironing board I have at home is at least .01% better to sit on
Epic stuff. As Southeastern is to have the 30 Class 707s as some have already been cascaded to Southeastern. Siemens could continue on producing more Desiro City dual voltage & DC EMU trains to operate on GTR Southern and to replace the Class 455 & Class 313.
these trains are so almost great. I love how they look and the interior layout feels really spacious with their wide doors and gangways, but the awful seats and lack of table f**ing ruin it. I had to commute on the class 700s for 2 years and its honestly put me off commuting forever.
The Desiro City EP in Train Simulator is laughable in some areas. AP only made a crude AI-only version of the 717 (not bothering to make a new cab model) and didn't alter the interior model for the 707, so that unit in-game is technically just a shortened 700 in disguise. As for the real units, I haven't got much of an opinion on them, but the 717 is my favourite variant. I will say that I don't get why SWR would cast the 707 off to Southeastern while simultaneously getting rid of the 456s and having some 455s scrapped.
Not much I can add to the Train Simulator bit, but yeah. SWR and in turn, the DfT seem to be suffering from the consequences of their short sigthetness. Good.
I don't mind the 700s that much because the rear first class is almost always empty, which have much better seats, proper tables and charging ports. The 707 and 717 are not very nice at all though, considering the fact that I'm forced to have no table and sit on an ironing board.
In this day and age, I can't think of a viable excuse for all of the seats not to have charging points. It should be no longer considered a privilege of the upper class to be able to charge your phone or iPad.

The Mellor Strata Reference hahahaha. Just saying, the DCs had potential to be the best of the generation. But Siemens said 'lol, no no no, a Desiro can't be the best of a generation!'
Was the first bus that came to my mind whilst writing the script! Also I feel more like the DFT's at blame here, assuming they specified the seating and faclities.
@@MaverickHunterDaniel yes they did. A majority of the interior design was spec'd by them. I quite missed the 319s at first bc of the seats, but because of air con, I did quite prefer these in the summer (was living on the network when these came into service)
Speaking of the 10A I've got a bus route near me that has 3 separate operators on it 😭 256 Bradford to Brighouse literally has First bus, Arriva and TLC Travel it's crazy And as for the 700, 717 and the 7070707070707 I couldn't agree more with your opinions Sounds and looks nice but the interior is a joke
AC/DC is because AC needs a transformer and that makes NOISE. AC is funky but works better. Same reason 334s sound different to 458s - 334s, being AC, need a transformer where as 458s being DC don't
On the Mellor Strata seats - McGill's 0101/0102 (first 2 production IIRC) have very deep seats Civic style, and outpace lots of train seats esp Fainsa ironing boards
The 707s are definitely fastest on third rail so far for some reason. 700s are a bit more nerfed, even 8 cars seem slower than 707s. Motor sound wise, too quiet for my liking but more better and audiable than an aventra for sure. Aventrys sound shit. I'd like if they were as audiable as CAFs. But oh Wells . I preffer the colourful livery of southeastern and SWR
@@FarmYardGaming maybe. Also lack of toiletries too. I was looking at all the carriage data and the 707s lightest inner carriages are all 28ish tons. Class 700s ptosl carriage is like 33 tons. Plus the toiletries may add a ton or two. So it may well be 5 to 6 tons lighter with the same power output. It also may just be entirely a quirk that when powering the 5 car variations. The power to weight ratio is slightly more odd. So seimens went into it with a mindset of "we wanna give enough power to the trains" and so you have a slightly more powered up unit for third rail. Who knows really. Im a believer that light weight units such as desirp cities on third rail should at least be hitting below 55 seconds to 60mph in this modern age. This means theyll hit max speed much better.

Sorry, my bad, I'm just a big fan of Geoff.
Class 700
*class 707070707070707*
Class 717
Like what desire city has a weird design but the *stations* …
Pointless loss of width at floor level. This is not due to having to fit the loading gauge. They could have been full width.
Speaking of the 10A I've got a bus route near me that has 3 separate operators on it 😭
256 Bradford to Brighouse literally has First bus, Arriva and TLC Travel it's crazy
And as for the 700, 717 and the 7070707070707 I couldn't agree more with your opinions
Sounds and looks nice but the interior is a joke
could you do the 442 🙃
I do enjoy this series, keeps me entertained whilst my laptop is acting like a class 180
I'm happy you enjoy these videos but I don't take requests.
I prefer the AC sound.
Watching the cameras to see any lesbians getting it on.
That's hilarious 😂
The trains themselves are good but the seats spoil the whole experience! Curse the dft and their uncomfortable seating requirements!
And unfortunatley, the seats are a rather big component of my journey. I don't plan on standing from Horsham to Blackfriars anytime soon.
I don't understand why the trains in the UK have such large gaps and steps between them and the platform, screw people on wheelchairs, I guess?
I swear I've replied to this comment a few times already.
@@MaverickHunterDanielyeah sorry my notifications aren't going through
The 707s are definitely fastest on third rail so far for some reason.
I'm gonna guess the extra AC packages the 707s lack help it a little bit
These are my least favourite trains
I Prefer DC Mode
bisexual😭😭
These trains also look ugly imo
