The super cheerful tune together with the frantically bouncing stone at 21:20 made me legit break out in laughter. That was very funny and somehow reminded me of Portal. Go, go, excited rock! Live your best life!
Note that there's a significant difference between a "poor" reading and a "minuscule" reading; "minuscule" means the game did not even try to generate that ore in that chunk, but it may have tried to do so in neighboring chunks.
I don't bother trying to chase after anything short of decent unless its a rare metal like gold or silver, so poor and minuscule means the same thing to me because it means I won't bother.
@@Rhadamant Point taken, but what I was getting at is that when trying to find the center (highest probability) of a possible ore spawn zone, there may be several consecutive "poor" chunks, but "miniscule" means you've found the edge.
I also thought that the wording are related to the quality (high, medium, poor, minuscule, etc) and the % related to the chance of finding it in this chunk. So a 0.2% tin would mean that theres only .2% chance to have the ore spawn in this chunk...? But if you find it, it will be a high quality, so more valuable. But good luck finding it (increasing the prospecting rage to 8 will help).
@@terrencesauve As I understand it, the verbal descriptor is also about the probability that the ore type in question was generated in the chunk, but normalized relative to the highest possible probability for that ore type. So 0.2 parts per thousand chance of cassiterite, a rare ore, might be "decent" but the same probability for native copper, a much more common ore, would be "poor". I don't think the prospecting pick tells you anything about ore quality.

i have noticed that if you chuck a spear at enemies from ABOVE they will USUALLY take 2 hits. 1st from spear impact and 2nd from the spear falling down so i guess its a fall damage attack this way. i don't think it uses more durability doing this 2x hit either so it TECHNICALLY saves spear durability this way. but you have to be almost right above them for the 2x hit to work.
A berry garden isn't a terrible thing to undertake especially if you want a lot of rot to compost. The problem with berries is they rot fast and unless you have tons of honey to either turn it to jam or a fruit press and distillery to turn it to juice/liquor, you're picking berries for rot.

@@Rhadamant Yeah, might be I developed some kind of vengeance against wolves and forests, and therefore I need unreasonable numbers of axes and spears.
It's not 2 per cent. It's 0.2 per mil, so 1 block in every 5,000 (note the leading decimal point and the two zeros in the denominator). It's more useful to just look at the descriptor ("high" in this case), which gives you an idea of how good the potential is relative to the best it could be (since different ores have different spawn densities).
Streamer luck is really only a bad thing if they're going for some kind of achievement(like a blindfold run or speedrun) or if it's on some game with loot crates or some other evil over monetized shit.

Wait prospecting updates to reflect the current actual state? How does that make sense? The rocks you're prospecting with haven't been affected by your mining... I know how it might work in a game sense but in a "realism" sense it doesn't...
@@Rhadamant It seemed to be the case that if you mine out the ores and then prospect, the result of the prospecting would be updated and report no ores
That's the way chunk search works, but not density. Density search tells you the chance of finding an ore as a part per thousand, not whether or not there's actual ore. @@AvenDonn
