Taking into account the news and official accounts that just about everyone in Kentucky is being forcefully fenced in, everybody with a brain ABSOLUTELY went to get guns.
I think the areas in b42 addition had a little more time to prepare as they were outside of the original quarantine zone. In echo creek there was a run on guns, or the government was handing them out to lined up civilians, when they passed out together from the airborne strain and turned en masse
The fictionalized setting of project zomboid is roughly in the area of the real world Jefferson County where real world Louisville exists. with about 772k total people living there, 600k of which living in louisville, we've got an estimate of somewhere around 120,000 people 95% of which were infected with the airborne strain alone, so generously 6000 survivors that didn't immediately turn (not accounting for people who would be bitten immediately) In my first run into Guns Unlimited with Normal pop, Low Initial and High end final population i went to the store within a day and fought so many zomboids that I said fuck it and turned on cheats just to see how many there were. By the time I cleared out the showrooom, JUST the showroom, with more trailing in from the sounds of fighting I had killed ~630 zomboids. Again, just the showroom. With noclip and invisible on I saw easily another 300 worth of shamblers out back in the kill house, training course and proper shooting range. If we go with the idea that people flooded this one gun store after the infections began that would imply that around 1/6th of the surviving people all made it this far and then suddenly up and died inside, the poplulation of this location is *insane*
I found it pretty typical to kill several hundred per neighborhood block with my friend. I had a character with several thousand kills in just 3 months of gameplay and we had not even put a dent in the rosewood hoards. I'm glad in 42 they will stop putting more zombies in the woods and fields outside of towns than in the towns proper.
Ah you mean that Army Surplus store southwest of Fallas Lake? Almost forgot that place, mostly I played Multiplayer, and usually that place already looted by other player and the item respawn seems broken there, so I never bother to go there.
I have 15 iron pipes, 7 strength and 7 fitness, planning to raid this place, wish me luck UPDATE: Before raiding I made a small contingency plan where I can distract the zombies from my escape on foot if my car gets surrounded. I found a police car and got to work, holy fucking shit the outside lot is a goddamn nightmare. Lost 4 pipes killing at least 400 of them, and since I have randomized classes, the moment I set foot in there, a deluge of sprinters came out the store and rushed me. Turned on the siren on the police car and ran as far as I can north. Will attempt again potentially with molotovs in tow.
I managed to kill almost a thousand of em in a span of a week in game! I cleared the roads and the parking area, only to find out there are a LOT more inside. Managed to snatch low condition m16, a 556 ammo box, and 4 box of 9mm ammo from the army tent outside tho!
pretty much what i did but i used a cop car sirens and brought them all to the bottom of the shooting range on the bottom left of the compound, was able to loot it all after doing that like 3-4 times
@ yeah hahaha it was my second day 😂 took 2 in game days so actually maybe more than an hour, place is huge and talking building plus the area the compound alone is massive and full of Zeds it’s like the whole town plus surrounding towns everyone decided to go to the gun store and shooting range the same day 😂😂
Apparently everyone in Echo Creek went to the gun store…
Whan zombie appocalyspe starts: Step 1 - get GUNS
A pretty valid assumption to be fair

Killed more than 2000 there, still coming...
This is why you go to the old army store north of Echo Creek first. maybe some mollies from the bar too.

wtf is wrong with echo creek folks sheesh, all left their farms for the range
The very first place that Americans go for when a zombie outbreak occurs
I call one of these areas a Venus Fly Trap, because its attractive to the prey it eats
Ah now i understand why i can't clean this place ☠️
Is this build 42?
yes, echo creek is one of the new towns introduced
Damn... This many zombies? Seems I need more spades and shovels to clear this place lol. Never thought this place has this much population.
Bold of you
