I'm Italian and I have to say the food here is phenomenal. I love that vegetables are front and center in meals, and that food is eaten seasonally as well. Wonderful.
That's the real greek food! I'm tired of seeing hundreds of youtubers all going to the same tourist traps in Athens!

My husband is greek and he always say , when you visit Greece, go outside Athens, Athens is smelly and sux lol. You can find treasure in small villages ans cities

I only ever passed through Athens twice. I like the quieter places in Greece. Beautiful and relaxing.
If I haven’t read the title I would say that this is my hometown Çanakkale (turkey) which has Greek roots of course. We have literally had the same menu last week. This should be the life we all aim for you guys, good food organic life and healthy minds ❤

The Greek diet is mainly vegetarian.Meat dishes used to be once a week and fish too. Traditionally we don't consume anything coming from meat every Wednesday and Friday during the whole year. Also we fast about 40 days in Easter and the most hardcore people fast at Christmas too.
Same in my culture. Leftovers are wonderful. All the meals - simple or otherwise - look absolutely delicious. What could be better than an omelette with feta and side salad of seasonal tomatoes and cucumber?

Hi my friend, i do not know who you are but i want to say these words. I'm Turkish and i've felt like my home while watching this video. Everything clearly same as ours including plates, bazaars, and foods obviously.We have same pink bowl what yiayas mixing ingredients on it. One more time i've realized as we two countries are closer than i think. Wishing healty days and take care yourself. Keep going like that.

I know that market smells amazing!! When I went to Algeria I was overwhelmed by all the smells and the brightness of the sun. The food is also very similar. Fresh vegetables, a little meat, something sweet and coffee, all made by loving hands. Of course the fruits 😍

Everything looks so good and so fresh! Those fritters...😍 Also, that dark chocolate cake with the crushed biscuits didn't look too bad either! I think every Mediterranean country has a version of that. Living in a desert, I'm so envious of your grandma's garden. Ευχαριστώ πολύ!

Oh my God. My first boyfriend was Greek and we were together for 10 years and we used to go back to Komotini for many holidays from
University and his mother taught me the basis of my cooking today. I miss them so much especially his Mum who adored me and wanted me to marry her son. Her spinach and meat and cheese pies were more than amazing. I cringe at frozen filo and don’t attempt to cook with it but one thing Incant do is the pastry 😢 Happy days ❤

I used to go and visit him in the mountains in deep snow with his mother to see him for even half an hour in the army. I waited for him for 3 years. Anyway I’ll never forget those years anyway and his Mum we were great friends too. Such as life!!

Oh I love grocery hauls from other countries! I just moved to Japan and love strolling around the supermarket too and finding new stuff 😊 I think grocery shopping in different countries gives great insight into what the country’s culture is like!

@@adayortwo Absolutely! There are many fresh markets in Japan and little stands where you can just pick up farm-fresh veggies and leave your money in a little box there. That's super useful!

I noticed that plenty of lamb dishes exist among the Mediterranean and Middle Eastern people. I have only given lamb a try less than a dozen times. I have never cooked it myself.

Every food looks so delicious and the preparation is neat and tidy, i want to make the bean soup❤. When i went to Crete i loved the fresh veg and fruit. But homemade food is the best, simple flavours with herbs. I also love fruit for dessert and using natural sweetness from the fruit and citrus, nut, dark chocolate home made.

Greek cuisine is so close to Armenian cuisine as well as Turkish cuisine as they all lived together for centuries. I’m Armenian and I cook everything that she cooked with some minor differences in spices as I was born and raised in the Middle East. One day I want to try to make the tomato dolma stuffed with rice and pine nuts and parsley which is an authentic Greek dish. I had it back home in an Armenian family from Greece and I loved it. I went online and found the recipe but I don’t think it is the same dolma that I had back home. Nothing online is authentic, they make changes to it and it doesn’t taste the same. Have a good day everybody.
