Ah, mommas. Life is good as long they are with us. Take care of her because she is so precious! Also, that's what we really eat in Greece. Not what you usually see in tavernas. Greeks are going to tavernas for fun and not for everyday eating.

My mother from the Balkans made two kinds of mousaka: with eggplant and with potatoes. I hated the former, but the latter was one of my favorites. It seems to me that Greek and Bosnian/Serbian cuisine have a lot of similarities. Maybe it's because both regions were under the Ottoman Turks for a long time.

Your grandma's food looks so healthy, nourishing and tasty. Some of the dishes are quite typical in my family in Georgia too, like stuffed veggies, stuffed cabages, salads. The video was very pleasant to watch too.

To me, Greece is Paradise on earth.

This was an amazing experience. It brought back so many memories of my yiayia and mom, with all the dishes they prepared for us kids. Even though our family didn't fare as well in Canada, it did have its magic moments simply because of the food. Those days when we had such a wonderful enjoyment of a cuisine that was purely Greek and satisfying can only be repeated by my searching the web for recipes that I can be inspired by. Thanks for that.
