I've made shoulder straps for bags using open ring chains and weave a small matching fabric through the chain. A simple designer look. Thanks for your tutorials ❤
I love all these bags. Byou have inspired me in so many ways. I have made zipper pouches for family that i learned form you. Also first time i have done zippers at 54 yrs young. Noone should ever say they cant learn new things at any age. Thank you
I'll be 60 soon Rachel, and am amazed at how much I'm still learning every single day. I love that there is so much I haven't tried yet. Well done with your zippers and pouches😀
My neighbor showed up at my door about an hour ago with two big boxes of upholstery samples! Over 100 pieces, mostly 22x17(inches), with the paper already removed! Prints! Solids! Textures! Metallics! Leather! Suede! Tapestry! I thought, "Only Christine will understand why I'm so excited, lol." Whew! I gotta go calm down now....... 😅🤣
@@ChristinesHomeAffairs And, thanks to you, I know what to do with them. Yours was the first channel I ever subscribed to and you've been such an inspiration to me. Thank you for sharing your time and talent. 🌺
I love your tutorials, always a pleasure. You don't have to live with creases in your vinyl, I use a hairdryer, and it works for me without a problem. Happy sewing, Diane
Christine. I have teflon sheets used for pressing transfers/vinyl lettering into items. Magic grill mats are similar . I put one under and one over your vinyl fabric and low heat Press (not iron) the fold. Try on sample. I've been using teflon for 30 yrs also for fused interfacing to save residue from getting on iron and ironing board surface. WORKS GREAT for me.
Another gorgeous bag! I love red on red. So glad you did the handles in red instead of black. I like your new seam gauge helper. Love this style!😊⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Christine you made me chuckle when you talked about changing your rotary blade. We say that all the time at the warehouse when we change our large cutting mats and put a new blade in our cutter. Our comment is always " it's like Christmas! ". Love your videos.
Christine you are a great educators. Definately the best explanations & clearest instructions of any I have watched. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
You can put a piece of fabric over the back and iron it, or give it some steam, then put a bloc, or some flat weight on it to keep it flat as it cools. A minute or two. It's harder to melt it when it has that backing on it, AND you're putting a piece of fabric over it as well. Do a test piece that has a fold or kink in it, if you want to test it first.
Wow, another wonderful bag. Yes a cross body bag in that size would be great. But then again every bag or project you do is always great and i enjoy sewing along with you. And you can never have enough bags😂. Thank you Christine another wonderful video💕
@@ChristinesHomeAffairs cant wait😁. Looking forward to seeing the new machine. I bought my first industrial one back in October/November and have not regretted it. Always used home sewing machines which are good if you want hundreds of different stitches, but to be honest i only ever use straight stitch😂😂. So when i saw this one i grabbed it and so far have not regretted it. It is also at a good height. Other machines always gave me real back ache so having the machine in a table works wonders and i can now sew for hours on end without any issues. Just love it. Thanks to you and all your videos i am kept very busy💕
@Venetia2 when I migrated to industrial machines about 2-3 years ago, I thought I'd still need something with stitch variations. In all that time, I've only had to do one zigzag and one buttonhole. I ended up teaching myself how to darn, and one day will learn how to do buttonholes with the industrial machines 😁
Lovely bag. Rubbish double sided tape. I hope you find a good one. It looks so much easier than pins etc. So glad you did the handles with red showing. 😀😀. And I agree the handles look better without the little metal hardware pieces. so I think it was a good kind of “mistake”. You teach me so much with your tutorials. I didn’t realise that changing needles for different fabrics would make so much difference. Lovely bag. X
I like how you kept the seam ripper from going too far when doing the bits for the metal prongs. And I have found that when doing a zipper pocket like that if I only sew the top and bottom and not the sides of the 'box' then my fabric turns sharper and looks better. Not sure why, but it does, Both bags so pretty!
That fabric and the color is beautiful. You do such a great job explaining and demonstrating each project. Makes it easy to follow. Thank you so much for sharing.
New ruler and blade Christine! Getting a bit flash 😉 Great tutorial as always, try a hair-dryer to remove creases. I use on clear vinyl all the time in making pouches with clear vinyl pockets 😊
I have had the same problem with sticky tape and really don’t like using it. I do like the ideal of how it helps hold things like zippers. Like you since I have so much I have started cleaning my needle with goo be gone. Checking often while working. It works
Hi Christine, one way to get a crease to settle down on vinyl is to use a hot hair dryer or a heat gun carefully, just wave it over the vinyl.. i do that on my boat seat vinyl.
I like the bag and I like the handles the way you decided with the black inside. Looking forward to seeing what you will do for the third bag. Another great video!
I love both of your bags. Very pretty! Crossbody bags are my favorite right now, so I will be excited to see those. My shoulders slope and bags always fall off of my shoulders. Bags on my arms annoy me so crossbody it is!
Great bags Christine they look so good dont know which one i like best for the crease seen a lady heat up her ironing board and put the vinyl etc on the heat the creases came out sometimes you need to do it a few times have a great day keep these great videos coming
Hi, Christine! My first thought was to place a pressing cloth on the wrong side of the vinyl and press it out. If that fails, maybe consider a piece of the upholstery fabric or other coordinating trim across the fold and topstitch. I always say if you can’t fix it, make it a design element.
Another great tutorial. Christine, I have dozens of yards of fabic, some fat quarters and some just yardage. I'm pairing down my fabric cave and am trying to figure out how I can gift you a stash. If you'd like to continue this idea privately, let me know. I'm very serious about this. Thanks ❤

Hey Christine, a few days ago, I saw someone use a 'fabric glue stick' instead of double tape. Have you ever used that? It was the first time I saw it. It was blue glue. Perhaps interesting to include in the glue test?
Hi Katrien. I've used the glue stick many times, and really like using it. If you don't use it for a while it goes off though. It also doesn't go as far as the tape, but would be perfect for smaller jobs😀
