I don't know where you two get your energy from, especially you! I know what it takes to clean out just one estate, but to do it on a regular basis and run the shop 3 days a week and do all of your alterations AND your tutorials???Insane!! But I adore you so Ill keep watching and learning!!!

I really enjoyed watching what life is like outside your sewing station and seeing 'outside the box' so to speak. Funny you said not many customers on Fridays and it starts with a family browsing before you're even open and it didnt stop 😂 I think they knew you had the camera running 😘 Loved the lake ,,, how lucky are you! Reminds me of when I had my bric-a-brac shop. I also sold second hand clothes and people would look for something to change into fancy dress. So with my sewing machine I started making outfits and I managed to make a small income from hiring out the costumes 🤠🥳🤡 It was a struggle some weeks but I plodded on as I was buying the shop. Happy days and like yourselves, chatting with customers. I wish we had the internet then and seeing all the wonderful sewing tutorials, of things I could make to sell. As I lived above the shop there was no travelling to work. After 10 years I sold the shop which helped me buy my house and mortgage now fully paid, hurrah 😁 It was lovely seeing a day of what you both get up to 😍 All the best for 2024
What a lovely story Leslie. Chris and I used to live at the back of his shop too. For years we'd just walk down the hall to get to work. It was so convenient. 😀

I live by a bunch of lakes here in the U.S. And, until today, the only Australian race horse I knew was Phar Lap. So I enjoyed seeing Black Caviar. Lovely statue.

Thank you for sharing your day with us! Reminds me of my childhood. I grew up in a small town, and my Grandfather established a “general store” that carried most necessities for rural life at the time. There were kegs of nails, work boots and work clothes for farmers, fertilizer, good quality paint. I remember when the store carried large wheels of cheese and you could have them cut off whatever size piece you wanted to buy. There were also some cuts of fabric, and plenty of notions…thread, zippers, sewing machine needles, etc. As time went on and my parents ran the store, there were more gift items. It felt like your shop. People were always coming by to get a spool of thread and staying to talk, and there was frequently someone playing checkers with my grandfather by the stove where it was cozy.
What a super video and, my goodness, you certainly work hard. I wish I lived nearer and could visit your lovely shop. It was interesting to see the lake, too. Happy New Year to you from Northern Ireland x

Wish we had a bit of your sun here in the Uk, the weather has been horrid rain.non stop. It is winter here that’s true, but fed up with floods and non stop rain. You have a full shop. Looks like you work pretty fast hehe. I could do with you living near us, and teach me to sew like you can. Your looking pretty busy. I hope you had plenty of sales to go with it. Yes you are being a little multi skilled working. Other sides of the shop while Chris is away. Crumbs bow the razors have changed. I remember them well some, but they look so old in todays times. I hope your sun means we will have it nice when it’s our turn.
I wish our sunny day had stayed Karen. Two days later, we had record rainfall with lots of flooding. Even the boardwalk on the lake was inundated. Holiday makers had to evacuate. The town is on high ground thankfully 😀

I found your videos about a month ago. I'm slowing down after 20+ years of doing craft shows. Your openness about products, pricing and how to make beautiful gifts is so appreciated. I was making reversible aprons with bibs and pockets for each side and it took a long time for each one, and I never knew how to price anything. There really wasn't a plan, just whatever interested me at the time. You have a video I want to re-watch on pricing. Your streamlining has helped me rethink what I am sewing too. I want to become more efficient and still have lovely things to offer for sale. I too have been very fortunate with occasional donated fabric. I don't have much upholstery, but a nice selection of cotton, and denim. Your lake is lovely. It looks warmer than ours. Here in Alaska, ours is frozen. Your sharing of self has made me feel like part of your family. Thank you

I found your videos about a month ago. I'm slowing down after 20+ years of doing craft shows. Your openness about products, pricing and how to make beautiful gifts is so appreciated. I was making reversible aprons with bibs and pockets for each side and it took a long time for each one, and I never knew how to price anything. There really wasn't a plan, just whatever interested me at the time. You have a video I want to re-watch on pricing. Your streamlining has helped me rethink what I am sewing too. I want to become more efficient and still have lovely things to offer for sale. I too have been very fortunate with occasional donated fabric. I don't have much upholstery, but a nice selection of cotton, and denim. Your lake is lovely. It looks warmer than ours. Here in Alaska, ours is frozen. Your sharing of self has made me feel like part of your family. Thank you
