An 1100 year ritual at the end of which 11 people died?
I bet when Malal appeared they said "Can we just make your sacred number 2 from now on? Also 1, 1 is a good number, 11 not so good."
Each of those 11 people are the winners of a ritualistic contest that the best, most ambitious members of the Sons of Malice chapter have been running every time they regroup for the get-togethers they have every century.

well, Malice being involved with the Tryant Star would explain why daemons are scared of it, however I like the theory that it is connected to the Haarlock dynasty of Rogue Traders, the last one went mad over the death of his wife and went to the use the Star's power for..... something, causing all sorts of crazy time and space shit in the process
Guy goes to star
Demon rips him off and caused an pretty solidly ducked event.
Mala: “hey boy, do this thing to get back at that guy who ripped you off”

Demon: *eternal screeching and maddening sounds as he has to deal with Mala*
Also
Same demon: *goes to other gods and warp creatures for help and gets ripped off making the situation worse*
Same demon: *tries to find traces of that guys soul and being him back to find out what the fuck he did*
Slaanesh gets involved because it seems like a fun daycare to send her kids to
Her kids make things worse and leave once it stops being fun via even they are becoming scared of it and not even having a good death
Demon and guys soul: “what the fuck…”
Also then: “well we just need this sword that has a shard of a god in it for help”
Warden of the sword: *grunt*
Sword: *maddened screaming*

Why do I get the feeling that Malice is gonna be directly tied to 40k's version of The End Times?
Yeah The lawsuit GW would lose for using Malal again would probably cause 40k to no longer exist.

Maybe the physical manifestation of the Sixth Chaos Lord, Matt Ward!?
personally I'm leaning towards the tyrant star being the outsider
Lord catsworth it's a C'tan I believe.
Makes sense, the Outsider needs to feed on something and his presence does create madness. Also would make sense why the depictions of events change as he has a Dyson sphere. Some encounters may just be his sphere landing behind the star he intends to consume, while others are his sphere landing in front and eclipsing the star.
so op you are saying dishonored are linked to 40k?
The Jim Reaper Let me clarify. The Dyson sphere landing between the star and the observer would block it out, and then the C'Tan going out to feed on the star would create the fire. When the sphere lands behind the star from the observers point of view and the C'tan goes out to feed, it would appear as the star is burning brighter than normal.
And by land, I mean dropping out of warp, the webway, or whatever means of propulsion the C'tan spaceships use.
@RC5664 Comet, There's not a snowball's chance in hell that it is Malal either.

All Hail MALAL
Shhh, you can't speak that name. Its Malice
May our god lead us into the abyss!
Malal: I will become relevant again!
Fucking Horus: Malal, you can’t keep doing this.
I suspect it's most likely something C'Tan/Necron. But, hey... who knows. Maybe it's something entirely new to the entire universe.
I love the idea of Malal making an appearance, staging a open war on the other 4 Chaos Gods who became to "stable" in their representation. A true God of eternal chaos, where it is chaos against all, even against itself. A true Beastly god... now we need more Beastmen in 40K as Malals children who hate both the non chaos and the chaos factions alike.
I mean, I can see the Tyrant Star being related to the Tyranids. After all we know the TRUE Tyranid Hivefleet still hasn't reached the Galaxy yet, so the Tyrant Start could be where the Orignial Mind of the Hive Fleet the Biggest Boss brain, is peeping into the Galaxy and it has such an overwhelming Psyic effect it warps everything it's near.
I think G.W, watched Transformers G1 & decided to add Unicron just for kicks
While TTS did joke about Malal being in there, I do think about this being a “portal to nonexistence” has *some* merit to it. If someone were to be wiped off the face of existence in both the materium and the immaterium, where would they or their soul go? And, should nonexistence ever come into existence, it could make sense if a type of “k-class” reality restructuring event happened and those affected were driven mad as a result.
I mean, if something is rendered nonexistent, it doesn't go anywhere. It just ceases existing.
I think it is an embodiment of Malice. I would love for GW to do something with Malice again but in 40k, and the Tryant Star sounds perfect for him and legit unnerving
When the Tyrant Star appears over my system:
"Well this is shrakk, how am I gonna get a tan now?"
Well you could get a tan from the burning cities filled with the screaming children.

I'm not entirely familiar with the details of Warhammer 40K lore, so I hope I'm not saying something stupid, but what if when pariahs die their 'un-souls' find one another into the Immaterium and merge together? It's like they've been coalescing together throughout the millennia like some sort of psychic black hole. That could make the Tyrant Star a pariah god.... anti-god? -The Tyrant Star is appearing, after all, in the Culexus Sector ;P-

In my opinion this sounds way more like the C'tan "The Outsider". As he is known for his voracious appetite that lead to him devouring his own kind and going mad from their remnant shards still speaking from within him, in fact his insanity became so potent that he was exiled from the war in heaven out of fear his madness would infect the other C'tan. His current form is on the galactic edge and shown to be covered in rocks, waste and possibly himself forming a moon like structure. No ones stopping him from moving about and "nibbling" on stars to feed himself, and also cause the madness by simply being nearby. After all the C'tan as a whole did develop a taste for emotions such as horror, fear, etc. Only problems with this theory is the calixis sector and the Outsider (last sighting) are possibly in two different corners of the galaxy.

My own theory was that the Tyrant Star is actually a representation of the God-Emperor in the same vein that the Gates of Moment might be an eye of Slaanesh. I have several reasons for this.
- The tyrant star also appears in the Screaming Vortex, the Chaos cultists are dismissive that the Imperials consider it a chaotic thing. It is represented as being far more destructive there then in Imperial space.
-There are hints that the Tyrant Star also appears in other sectors and even segmenta (Achilles crusade). In all cases there is a human aspect, there are no known appearances of the Tyrant Star to aliens. I admit that this is the weakest argument but until a bunch of Orks start a Waagh because a giant black sun tells them to it remains a valid point.
- The coming of the Tyrant start causes religious fanaticism in the imperial worlds that it touches. In a mad, raging kind of a way the Imperial Faith burns brigher in the world the Tyrant Star visits, much like a pyre. In essence having the religious warp energy that has coalesced around an antitheistic über psyker that is both disgusted and devoted to 'modern' humanity connect to worlds brimming with religious fanatics opposed to everything the Emperor fought for but utterly devoted to what the God-Emperor has become. Yes this is destructive but in a similar, if more excessive vein as the actions of Cypher. Some would survive, maybe even thrive as they could resonate with the schizophrenic dissonance. Again this is counter to its effects concerning Chaos cultists where it leaves only ashes.
I should probably post this somewhere else but the question of Malal is too much to ignore so I'll try to keep this short. Whether it's name Malice, Malal, or whatever, (I will just refer to him as Malal for now) Malice's existence is inevitable to begin with. Chaos God's represent a force fueled by the material realm, thus (especially with the tyranids) anarchy and nihilism is a huge factor within the universe. In fact I would go as far as saying the chaos gods all together fuel Malal's existence with all the "trouble" they cause. A good example of this which most can probably understand would be what happened to kreig, it was (essentially) plummeted into anarchy and civil war because of corrupt leaders who didn't believe in the Emperor.
EDIT (can't believe I forgot to add this): The tyrant star is also proof enough of the God's existence.
I'd say that it is a reality peep hole for Malal to poke his head out. It is only to make him seem like an actual threat.
Things like this are why I love the Warhammer 40k setting.
You can introduce an idea like this in the setting. An idea that, in any other setting or story, would be the one, singular, biggest evil monster ever, and it's just one relatively minor mystery in one small corner of the galaxy that most will never hear about. There are several plausible explanations for what it might be, each of which is it's own element with their own storied histories and implications, but you're left wondering what it might be.
Just this one small, relatively insignificant idea could serve perfectly as the core to a massive blockbuster trilogy of movies or series of books if it was nurtured right.
I've always wanted to know more of the Tyrant Stars after seeing that Q&A by Bruva Alfabusa, well done!
I think... The Tyrant Star might be the Craftworld know as Lu'nasad or Dresil'ach (forgotten ruin) which is detailed in the Rogue Trader adventure "Fallen Suns". This is the interpretation I am running with in my own Dark Heresy/Rogue Trader campaign, and of course linking Erasmus Haarlock with the lost Craftworld requires a bit of GM legwork but I hope it will be suitably epic.

Thinking about the daemons being extensions of the gods and how they can be summoned got me wondering: Is it theoretically possible to summon one of the actual Chaos Gods to the material realm, for however short a time?
Could we have a video of the Necron C'tan the Outsider. Since a lot of people are speculating the Tyrant star may be the Outsider.
one of my favorite theories so far. thank god the upload and keep up the great work good sir.
I know I couldn't have been the only one to ask for this topic, but I remember about, I wanna say, a year and a half ago when I found your channel to see if you could cover this. you were not kidding in the podcasts when you said you plan years ahead... Thanks for the vid and keep them coming!
Sounds very lovecraftian
It is rather Lovecraftian, especially its implications. While many jump to the conclusion "Cthulhu in 40k", it is not quite that simple. I would even argue that Cthulhu is already implied to be in 40k, or at least something similar to him already exists, and is but a part of the Tyrant Star´s prophesy rather than the end of it.
The truth behind the Tyrant Star is practically impossible to pinpoint with what I know, and I have gone through the source material several times: It was intended to be vague so the GM of the game could tell their own story. There is only an implied "truth", which, if it was ever included in the 40k at large, would necessitate a vast story to establish its place at the current time, its current state and most importantly, its results.
While I won´t say what the implied "truth" is, as I am unsure myself (my theories change with nearly every reading as I realize new connections or misconceptions I previously had), I can state with certainty that the result of this "truth", should it become reality for 40k, is the End of Days, the Eternal Night, the End Times.
"no one knows why they get aggressive with the tyrant star" my man never been vitamin d deficient. XD
Great video.
The tyrant star could be the hive mind of the Tyranids.
What if it's just a ridiculously large piece of Blackstone that the Necrons use to make their anti-warp pylons, that amount of negative psychic energy could explain why it causes madness and such whenever it appears
"Or could something even darker and more sinister be at play?" Like what? What could possibly be worse than the C'tan, Tyranids, or Chaos?
Quite a few things, considering it could be literally anything. The lore was left incomplete to allow the GM of a game to make their own story around it, but Komus´ true nature has been hinted at... And if those clues are interpreted as a whole rather than a single clue at a time, the implications are quite nightmarish.
So since GW doesn´t hold the rights to Malal who does, since he´s no longer officially part of the pantheon of 40k.
I think I read somewhere that the employee who created Malal back in the 80s quit and took all the rights to Malal.
If the employee dies, does that mean they could get rights back or something?
This guy explains the situation ua-cam.com/video/ryeT8CbE9g0/v-deo.html
I believe it was writers from 2000 AD ....... thats right we might see Judge Dread VS Malice/Malal
Many possibilities exist, but I am saddened that so few put much thought into Komus. Educated quess is the best that can be made. I have researched the Tyrant Star for five years already. It has become a hobby, an exhilarating use of my free time. The mystery is deep, but what I can tell you is that we are most certainly, and with proof, dealing with forces even Chaos and Necrons could never hope to comprehend.
Malal has returned!
He has to pop in and out of the Warp to avoid his brothers noticing him and ending him.
That or like the Ocean comparison maybe there is something worse than the Chaos Gods in the Warp and this is an extension of this being, in other words the Chaos Gods are sharks cruising near the surface, where this thing is a legend like Leviathan/Kraken of the deep waiting to rise up and drag down whatever it can feast on.
Or maybe an insane Old One who has been corrupted after hiding for so long.
So many possibilities, so much fun to speculate.
Who else is terrified at the thought of this star. A black star that causes madness and mutation. Damn you Malal
Rift Dragon well, I most certainly am absolutely exhilarated of the lore behind the Tyrant Star. Whether it is Malal's doing or something even worse (protip: it is much worse), the Tyrant Star provides us with a great unknown, a view of alien vistas of terrifying implications. It provides us a view of powers beyond the comprehension of gods, and my greatest desire for the future of 40k is to see the truth that unfolds and the struggle against the darkness that will consume the stars from the heavens, leaving only Komus, the Last Star to shine its hellish light of madness upon mortals.
"And there will be no difference between Man and the Beast, for All Shall Be Returned."
Would be pretty funny if it was just a normal eclipse.
In regards to the madness brought by the star, doesn’t the C’Tan known as ‘The Outsider’ have the effects of madness attributed to it?
Embrace the Darkness? Like believe in a thing called love?
"Money is of... no importance. I... want... the... STONES..."

Cracking episode Remleiz, very thorough. Speaking of stars, how about an episode about the Black Stone Fortresses of the Gothic War and their eventual fate?
Took a screenshot of the magic moment of this video being 40k views
The first theory has something of a problem: If the tyrant star is something of the tyranids why is it so far ahead of the hive fleets? Going so far ahead it would give the imperium time to recover and brings up the question of how the hive mind communicates with such a thing. Also, wouldn't there be specific signs of genestealer infestation?
Matt Morehouse Those are the exact points raised by Inquisitors to counter the Tyranid argument. All these theories have the same issue that the Inquisition faces: None of them can be proved to be true or false with certainty, as the key pieces of evidence one way or the other either do not exist or are nearly impossible to find.
My favorite characters in 40k are the Dark Gods. They remind me so much of me, especially Tzeentch.
BUT AREN'T YOU IN THE UNIVERSE?!!
God Emperor of Mankind I am and am not at the same time.
hey look two gods arguing
angry Lizardman Don't call him that it irritates him.
Cthulhu the Omnipotent Oh hey, have you found a new home yet since the seas disappeared on Terra millennias ago?
Please change the long cancerous intro
Could this star be some sort of tyranid organism that feeds on energy, perhaps even an extension of the source of the hive mind with the madness being due to a stronger version of the white noise.
The main theory related to the Tyranids (as far as the Inquisition is concerned) claims the Tyrant Star is the manifestation of the Hive Mind's presence. This would imply the Hive Mind is focusing its attention where the Tyrant Star appears. This could explain the lack of Genestealer cults on most of the world's visited, but also implies the Hive Mind is placing an unbeforeseen focus on a single sector. It could be Calixis Sector is the target of the main Hive Fleet for unknown reasons.
This theory, however, has even less evidence than the theory claiming the Tyrant Star is called by witches and/or heretics or the presence thereof, which is concidered a foolish proposition by most Inquisitors and a sheer impossibility.
Malal: I WILL BE CANON I WILL BEEEEE!!! (cries)
The greatest trick Malice/Malal ever pulled was convincing the world he wasn't cannon !
That's one thing I love about the Tyrant Star is the GM can make it whatever they want. I only Gm'd up to the first scenario of the trilogy, but I would've made it something different something even more unknowable than Malal or the other chaos gods. Something i haven't even thought up yet lol
The best shit in 40k tends to be the stuff we have little knowledge on as it leaves us wondering and afraid. The best type of fear is the unknown after all. :3
Malice or UNICRON!

The Tyrant star could be the prelude to the old ones coming to aid their creatures.
It’s a reality peephole for Malal

Lets hope it comes out that its the same phenomenon that caused the Harrowing. A new threat from another dimension. Tired of everything being chaos.

Well 1 Eldar seer did state that there are bigger threats to the galaxy then the ruinous powers
The writing of DH1-era FFG books was truly remarkable. Whole Haarlock's story, Tyrantine Cabal, Komus itself.. the aura of horror, mistery and eeriness was so fascinating, even thought the campaigns (Haarlock's Legacy especially) were quite a mess. And the best thing was that the writers never actually explained what the Tyrant Star is, leaving it to the GMs and players to theorize and debate over.
Hmm strange, I wonder what that thing could be hmm, what do you guys take of it HHHMMMMM!!!!???? I WONDER WHAT IT WHO IT COULD BE FROM HHHHMMMMM!!!!.....also WHO THE FUCK YOU CALLIN LESSER GOD YOU RUSTED PILE OF CYBER DONGS 40K THEORIES!?
Has no one in the empire read H.P lovecraft?
In at least one of his stories he wrote of a black star (which was actually a blackhole) that appear over a city shortly before some crazy lovecraft stuff happend in that city
Wow Five Star Stories nomadic black star is making quite a ruckus in Warhammer 40k.
I like the idea of a true chaos God of anarchy, it has no followers and so less power because it's disorder embodied, all the other chaos gods have a system set up and even work together at times, not so for the God of anarchy
Malal fits reasonably well but Personally I would associate it as its own entity, wither material or warp bound.
You know. That really sounds alot like the things that hapened to the Warhammer 40k worlds... Earth.... um.. Terra... That caused the mass destruction and devolving of humans on the world, before the emperor apeared. Mass mutations, psychers, chaos, death. A thing like the Sun becoming weird wouldnt be something people would remember, since most of the human history was lost back then. But it could have been a possibility.
Emperor proctects, brothers. Im very deep in this shit, cuz it is, without comparison, the best literal achievement of human kind, nothin is even near. Those who listened "The Betrayer" audiobook know of what Im speaking.
As for the Tyrant star, it very well might be Sortiarius, cuz last time i heard Magnus and Aaraman were doin some epicly wierd shit there. Considering that even Greenskins figured out (Mork only knows how) how to teleport entire battle worlds all across entire sectors, I wouldnt be surprised that a Demigod and most potent Psyker in Galaxe did so aswell.
I'm coming bitches
01:59 ah that explains it
My feeling is it is a type of C'tan. We really only know what they are like post embodiment. Their actions and powers before this is not really known...and there is no reason to believe the Necron found all those that are, just the majority that may exist in the milky way. But something like the C'tan are sure to be intergalactic travelers. With a galaxy just being a particularly rich feeding area. Who knows what kind of habits those outside the milky way developed, especially the older ones. Wholely engulfing a star and driving any native populations it supports to frenzy, may just be its way of having a good meal. After all it is not just star stuff they feed off of. We know they like the stuff of life as well.
Hellstar Remina anyone?
I think the Dark Heresy writers put it in there to give GMs a hook for thier campaigns. It's deliberatley vague so you can decide for yourself.
Never forget that there is a mad lad, that can actually control or at least predict the cycles of the tyrant star (according to an official Warhammer dark heresy triology). The guy is a rogue trader of the Harlock dynasty. The dynasty was a key part of the initial collonialization of the Calixis sector, so they basically had time to study the phenomenon from the beginning of the sectors existence, probably predating even the Tyrantine Cabal.
I also wanna comment on the theory of the tyrant star being the C'tan devouring the star of the system. It does sound nice, until you reallize that some of the reports on the tyrant star talk about it being a second sun besides the one of the system. With the additional lack of an explanation for the madness the star is linked to, I find this theory especially unlikely.
Anyone else looking out for the Tyrant Star this 2020? This year is just tearing human civilization apart.
Ok let me break down why it's not malus:
1st is't malus non-cannon due to the fact that the people who own his copy right leave gw?
2nd if I recall malus is the god of unbelief and if he is he would have starved to death
3rd if there was a prophecy then it's tzeench as hes the *architect* of fate meaning without him no proghesies whould be possible.
Not like it matters cause the RPGs are dead and won't be getting any new updates or lore acknowledgement considering current GW stuff...
Please shorten your intro. It's obnoxiously long and amateurish when compared to the rest of the video that's of good quality.
I love me some freaky Lovecraftian bullshit like this. Some freaky astrological event happens at random and people start losing their minds while weird shit starts happening all over the planet that witnessed it...good stuff.
what a bunch of interdimensional 4th degree warp fuckery also hi malal , malice . guy of chaos. dont hurt me
Am I the only one, who is really, really reminded on George R.R. Martins Wilde Card books?
