This is the epitome of _black history_ and more. I watched the entire segment live today and was amazed. They most definitely gave Smokey a run for his money when the creative juices started to flow. And you can't even duplicate the sound today. It is timeless. Salute to the Holland brothers and Lamont Doizer for crafting them timeless hits. 👑👑👑👑👑🎶🎶🎵🎵🎵🎵🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼
0:24 baby love ❤️ The Supremes 1:25 how sweet it is to be loved by you Marvin Gaye 2:32 you can’t hurry love ❤️ The Supremes 3:37 need to proud to beg The Temptations I love all those people and I love the women of the view it’s fun to watch
To see them in a smaller club where u could just about reach up and touch them. It was something all in step sound was fantastic and the were great outside after the shows they would sign autographs talk with the people very much an intimate feeling in Leo's casino on 79th and Euclid ave in cleveland ohio. They should have kept it like a place to spotlight that sound.
@@elizabethmunson2129 The music was great but I would never call it a great time. African Americans were still fighting for basic human rights, women's rights were cringeworthy compared to today and there was a thing called the Vietnam war that went on forever.
There were massive problems then too. It wasn't anymore pleasant than it is now. At least today we have language for some of the atrocities that occur.

Don't forget Freddie Gorman, whom Lamont replaced.

That was when music was music.
This makes me wish I was born in that era! What wonderful songs they wrote! And what a pleasant time to live in 😍
I was in my teens and twenties for these fabulous songs and yes it was a great time to live so much better than now sadly!

@Selena Monfalin omg if you only knew❤ It was a beautiful thang.
Love Motown! Takes me back.
Love the late 50’s and 60’s music. 60’s was the best era in music
and early 70's for me. 5th Dimension, Aretha etc.
Oh my gosh, love Motown Music, bring it back music like old music.
LOVE! LOVE! LOVE!!!!!!!!!
SING IT EMPHRAIM
Those were the days when groups & artists were classy, music was music & lyrics had meaning.
back when it was about having fun and letting loose and not any of that dirty stuff they have
EXCELLANT !!!!!!!!!!
AWESOME!!
Beautiful ❤️
Eddie holland did the temps so much better his voice still takes it out and the only one that can do marvin justice is marvin
Guess what? They aren't here and a tribute is a compliment to the artists talent and skill, unless you're petty.
I don't know who the 11 or so people are that 'disliked' this video, but they can go....bye! This was great!
It's about time💓💕💋🌹👬🌻🌎☝
I think that I am going to see the musical.?
This should be great.
Where is Ruff' when we need him?
🎤👓🎩👞
Who were those women as the Supremes because they are fine.
Naw to Marvin, Naw, Naw, Naw....trying to Hard!!! 👍🏽 Temptations!!
More Martha Reeves please 🙄
Marvin didn't sing like that. I'm just saying.
Agreed
That's the way that actor sang, he plays Dennis Edwards in 'Ain't too Proud' so he holds more of Dennis' voice compared to Marvin.
Musical singers singing motown ain't it! I rather hear Eddie sing, despite age taking its torn
He sounds NOTHING like Marvin Gay. Hahaha haha!
It was not meant to sound like the original artist. It a celebration of these icons who written and produced these songs
@@speedyjefferson3690 Got it!
Marvin Gaye? NOPE! Stop it I say!
I found the Supremes underwhelming and that Marvin Gaye was just awful...
You're crazy!!
