The greatest song writing team ever Holland Dozier Holland. We lost Lamont Dozier I grew up listening and playing their great songs over the airwaves, at all the radio stations I worked at in this country. Now I play them on my internet radio show Classic Soul and The Doowoop Hour me The Masterblaster. Lamont all the great songs you wrote will live on forever RIP brotha.
Joy makes no sense. Everything is not comic. She is all about sex sex sex and it gets disgusting at a certain age. She needs to talk serious for her age
Seen them all in the Motown glory days outstanding and they were the best talking with the people outside giving autographs and they gave it everything they got
It's about time that they're getting their recognition. I'm buying their book today, and Lamont Dozier's book. I hope their book sales more than compensate for the lack of 💰 they earned at Motown. Thanks for the timeless music HDH!
I got my copy from Eddie himself. Met him on a cruise last year in Europe while I was performing with a Motown tribute act. They loved us so much, that they came to see us perform while they were in London, then is when I met Brian. Legendary
HDH was the real deal @ Motown back in the day. Prolific songwriters and producers. Their music was indeed the soundtrack of my childhood. It put a smile on my face and make me wanna get up and dance! Eddie Holland can sing (I heard some of his early songs), in fact, all three of them can sing as well as write and produce. Eddie and Brian Holland still look good for 80 and 79 yrs old, respectively. #BLACKDONTCRACK
Jerry Ventura Otis Williams is an original. I know Ali Woodson is not an original but he is still my favorite Temptation & nothing u can say can change that.
now do a story about Motown's unsung best songwriter, Ivy Jo Hunter. he was considered a bit of a rebel, and as a result, his work was pushed to the side or interred in the Motown vaults...but with songs like "Dancing In The Street" and "Ask The Lonely", he held his own ground firmly against HDH, who were favored...until they weren't. Ivy Hunter sorely deserves some accolades and recognition. he, too, is living an active and productive life today. seems a shame to let him go uncelebrated.
mary ruggiero Coming from Detroit I’ve seen his name on Plenty Of 45 s. He was one of Motown greats, Ashford and Simpson too. Barrett Strong, Norman Whitfield, Steveland Morris. Syreeta Wright.
@@keithgilliard9191 right you are! so many Motown greats have been all but forgotten. sad considering how much happiness the world has derived, and continues to garner, from them. Steveland did some great work with Ivy Hunter...and did a bit on his own, too, eh? lol!! the amount of talent that went through Hitsville is astounding! artists, producers, writers, engineers, musicians...the list just goes on and on!!

Hi Lois King! Happy Saturday! I am just seeing this clip from 2020 on You Tube. You must read Eddie and Brian Holland's book, "Come And Get These Memories." Brian explains how he and "Diane" met, and unlike all Diana "haters" describes her as one of the most beautiful women her ever met, and the kindest. He had even considered divorcing his wife to marry Miss Ross. There were many men at Motown Records who liked her; she wasn't necessarily involved with them.
@@gracegreen1859 At this time, it's a very old story. In Ross' book "Secrets Of A Sparrow" (1993) she describes how she and her friend would listen to his group's rehearsals. They were neighbors. She also asked him to audition her group, later. Mary Wilson mentions a Diana/Smokey relationship in her book; who knows, maybe, maybe not.
@@gracegreen1859 I don't know if my message printed or not, regarding Smokey Robinson. He and Ross were neighbors, she and a friend watched him and his group rehearse often. She eventually asked him to audition her group. She mentions this in her book "Secrets Of A Sparrow" (1993). Mary Wilson, in her 1986 book mentions an "affair." They may have been together, or maybe not. Both are "tight-lipped" on the subject.
Reparations are in part for the free labor blacks were forced to provide for decades, the free labor that built the country, including the WHITE House.

Nothing better than Motown records the best ever songs and groups
For real! The absolute best music.

Motown has the best roster of musicians, songwriters, and artists in the history of music.
What would Motown be without these three boys and those three girls? HDH & The Supremes...

There will never be another Motown.

You know who else had a huge number of songwriting hits? Mac Davis. Oh man, he wrote for so many people. I'd love to see him again.
Carly Simon, James Taylor, Andrew Lloyd Weber, Paul McCartney, and Dolly Parton as well. So lucky they are all still with us for now.

I’m pretty sure Norman Whitfield wrote Aint too proud…maybe hdh helped co-write it. Great clip
