FYI: That McCarthy's Single Malt uses peated malted barley from Scotland. So if you don't enjoy "smokey" Islay Whiskies (Lagavulin, Ardbeg etc.) you'd be in for a surprise. Cheers guys. Love the enthusiasm.
Art of the Spirits does all SiB store picks. All great and I have no issues buying them at $100. Also a great cause supporting military and first responders.
Relative noob on the whiskey scene… I’ve caught the bug, now I’m always on the lookout for good bottles - very thankful for your reviews and especially comments on pricing, I live in a relative whiskey desert, so many allocated or rare bottles are really expensive! Understanding what I should/shouldn’t pay and what I should be on the lookout for is really nice, thank you! ✌️❤️🍻🖖
Great find with the old ECBP’s. Any batch before A121 are amazing, any batch. Believe it or not there are still 2017-2020 ECBP batches on the shelf across so cal in lowkey liquor stores. Always check the very last bottle in a long stack of current ECBP’s, you can sometimes get lucky that way.
Nice haul! Anyone else straining to see which batch(es) of Remus Repeal was at all these shops? Also, San Diego is home to Whiskey House, which held the Guinness record for most whiskey bottles for many years (over 4000 bottles).
Not quite a bottle hunt, but I was in San Diego a few weeks ago for work. There's a place on 4th called Taste and Thirst. If you get there for Happy Hour, drinks are 1/2 off... including pours of Weller 12 year, which is $8... and they are full pours.
Honestly decent deal on those older ECBPs. Every batch pre 2021 has been far better than any batch since then (except C923). And 2017 was the year they switched from pirate bottle. A118 is a beast and just as good as any of the three 2017 batches.
The first Elijah Craig bottle after the pirate bottles was the A117. I was going to say that a comparison of the B520 to an Elijah Craig you really like would be interesting. But maybe you don't have any other Elijah Craigs on hand that you really like.

Thanks for the tip! Definitely a try before we buy then. Thank you for watching and supporting! 😊 Cheers 🥃

We only spotted batches 6 and 7 of the Remus, no 5’s unfortunately! We’ve been meaning to get out to the Whiskey House. We’ll have to go next time!

We were definitely lucky to pick them up! Thanks for watching 😊
Sweet find on the ECBP's!
We were stoked to find them! 😎
Exactly the prices I'd expect to see in La Jolla 😂
You’re in my backyard! I have lots of spots I can recommend but you went to a bunch of the good ones!
We love going down to San Diego, so it won’t be our last time hunting there! Do you have any recommendations for where we should go next time? 😊
I really enjoy the Barrel private release orange label
We’ll have to try it soon! Thanks for watching!

Realized after the video that A117 was the first. Sorry, it was before our time! 😂 After tasting, we definitely preferred the A118 over the B520!
At the first place i saw a green label bardstown bourbon. I think that was disco 1 or 2. If it was thats very dusty!
Oh yeah, good spot! Sin Lee was filled with great finds. Thanks for watching😊
Nice. I like the Bourbon hunting Vid's. Great job guys. you guys our out of the LA area? least that's what I see based on the store you go to.
Thanks for watching! We’re in OC, but we like to travel around!
You guys missed out not getting that TKO Rare Character from Crest, it’s an amazing bottle. Smoke Wagon pick is also great but a bit hot.
Of course the Stagg was $700. It's La Jolla!
Go check out Nestor
You should have grabbed that Art of the spirits! Fail!
Good to know for next time!
@@TheWhiskeyBreak I am lucky to live by the distillery! I just love their products and their story, they are not cheap as you saw!
What the f holy bourbon… $700 for a $60 bottle of Stagg jr … Yikes 😳
Probably shouldn’t have touched that one! 😂
