That bad boy sounds nasty! Hell of a cam in it for sure, go 3:73, good for street and strip. As for your vacuum issue, big cam motors do not produce vacuum at idle, you need an aftermarket vacuum canister for the street.
Wow Randy love the sound of the engine! She’s gonna be a beast! Once you get everything buttoned up going to make a great power tour car. Congrats on everybody that helped you.
Absolutely love it. I'm not a mechanic at all, but I had the same problem with an El Camino they ended up swapping the torque converter to fix the RPM problems.
Nothing like the sound of a cammed V8. In my opinion, probably one of the best sounding cars you have had on your channel. Its not overdone, just pure musclecar music! Great job!
Sounds GREAT! You all did justice to the Monte. Takes me back to my days with my 68 Pontiac LeMans. Mom always said she could hear me coming a mile away.
I love how you have the air-conditioning ready to go. A lot of people do these motor swaps and leave out the air-conditioning. It’s a pet peeve of mine.
Congratulations on getting the Monte Carlo on the road Randy! Man! The chop on that cam sounds AMAZING! You are going to want to do that rear end for sure. When you start doing burnouts and hard launches, the ring and pinion are going to go bye bye on you. Sounds great Man! So far, so good!
I know this may sound crazy but the fact that there was some hiccups and problems in this video gained you another follower. Seeing things not go as planned , hearing you say it took days to figure out some of the simplest things, etc was all so relatable, especially as I work on my 86 MCSS. Love this video and type of content !!!! Very much appreciated!
I’m loving this project. That car is awesome and the engine and exhaust sound so mean! Once you get it dialed in, you’re going to have one hell of a ripper dude!
Can you make one of those zen calming audio videos of JUST this car idling from the back? Man, I'd waste so much fuel just listening to it sit there and chop
OMG! the cam f'ing rocks..you have the best out the box cam hands down.... I think u should check your transmission adjustment.. it's shifting slow and extremely light.. ifi it has an valve body may need adjustment... A1 Randy 💪🏾🏁🏁a.nd get well soon
Wow, Randy, that sounds fantastic. It's a fantastic job . It's been a pleasure to watch this project. Thank you Randy best wishes to you , looking forward to seeing more soon 🚙🛻👍
Hey Randy, I just got done watching your video on the Monte Carlo with you taking it for a test drive. It looks good and sounds good man. I can’t wait to see your next video on it. I hope you’re feeling better and I’ll talk to you soon. I can’t wait to see your next video. Whatever you have planned. I’ll talk to you later. Have a good day and have a good night.
You should have a heater control valve that is in-line with your heater inlet hose to the core. The pneumatic line that you showed us allows it to open and close sending hot water to the heater.
That engine sounds incredible. As far as the vacuum issue goes the vacuum ball should be connected to a full manifold vacuum it may be connected to a ported vacuum on the base of your carburetor. Take a look at the vacuum source.
Sounds fkn awesome randy..💯 your interior vacuum should be straight to your manifold at all times. It sounds like you have them ported (plugged in to the Throttle plate) Where you won't have enough vacuum unless the accelerator is open.. beautiful car. I've always wanted a Monty ss. But I was lucky enough to own a GNX.. loved and miss that car.😊
Good choice for the project, I always liked how the exhaust pipes looked coming all the way back to the bumper on these cars and hope you do that too. As for the wheels try to keep the origonal wheels. The 2 points you are changing as far as Esthetics goes, I would keep them origonal. Keep the wheels and do the exhaust how it was way back then.
#1, there is a gear in the transmission that drives the speedo. Change the gear and the speedo will be accurate. #2. some cam shafts are "rowdy" and thus they do not produce vacuum. check your lines if it is the cam consider a reservoir for vacuum. Nice work.
You're on ported vacuum at the front of the carb meaning its controlled by throttle I suggest splitting it at the port for the booster shouldn't have any issues after that
Man,your neighbor the firefighter is going to love that car
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Nah. The Monte is now faster than a speeding rock. 😊
That old man gonna learn some day throwing rocks at people's cars is a good way to aquire some pop knots.😂
What a beast. The whole gang that put this old girl back on the road take a bow. Great job fellas.
Love the way the cam is hitting.reminds me of some of my old cars in the mid 70’s
That bad boy sounds nasty! Hell of a cam in it for sure, go 3:73, good for street and strip. As for your vacuum issue, big cam motors do not produce vacuum at idle, you need an aftermarket vacuum canister for the street.
That makes sense as to why it started working once he was driving, but wasn’t working at idle.
Those "G" body GM's DO come with 1 or 2 vacuum accumulators, at least my Olds did (same bodystyle)
Brings back memories from my youth of all cars sounding so good.
Sounds awesome 😍 love that chop. Exhaust sounds mean. I never knew a car from my youth can sound so good.
Wow Randy love the sound of the engine! She’s gonna be a beast! Once you get everything buttoned up going to make a great power tour car. Congrats on everybody that helped you.

Hello Randy. The first drive of the 1987 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS with the 500 horsepower engine and the new transmission.
I love how you have the air-conditioning ready to go. A lot of people do these motor swaps and leave out the air-conditioning. It’s a pet peeve of mine.
Pure awesomeness Randy. I'm happy your project car came out so well. Thanks to Santa, MWM and Dilbert. ❤
You don't want to breath in too much back there. Nice car Randy.
I hope you’re feeling better. Car looks great sounds awesome. Good luck.
Congratulations on getting the Monte Carlo on the road Randy!

Thanks for watching and for the comment! It's appreciated! Enjoy your SS!
I’m loving this project. That car is awesome and the engine and exhaust sound so mean! Once you get it dialed in, you’re going to have one hell of a ripper dude!
This is my new favorite stull up there with the 1930 chevy you had. Monte sounds AMAZING
Nothing is like the sound of a hot V8!
Auto Auction who? Now who can say Randy doesnt do rebuilds. Great job Randy and team.
It absolutely sounds fantastic. I love the chop.
Congratulations, she sounds Awesome! Horsepower promotes healing! 👍
Amazing! Can't wait for power tour! If you can, do the tour of Texas too!
Can you make one of those zen calming audio videos of JUST this car idling from the back? Man, I'd waste so much fuel just listening to it sit there and chop

The cam sounds like a roller cam sounds really good
What a fun ride! This is gonna be a fun summer, if it ever gets here.
🎉Randy she's sounds great. There is no better sound then a v8 with some chop .love it
Sounds really good. I miss hearing my beast of a mopar. Over 647ftpt. Insane.
I pray mine runs that good i been working on my truck for 2 years i can't wait to ride
I miss both of my 86 monte Carlo ss. Same color as yours randy just a beautiful car
I love that color !
What is the official color of this car . Dark maroon, dark cherry, or dark red ????
Great build!
The sound of beautiful music
@autoauctionrebuilds Man Randy that sounds sick! I love the way it sounds even just at idle. She’s sure come a long way 👍🏼😎
See if you have the TV cable set right and maybe a touch higher idle. Looser convertors mask the shifts at light throttle. Sounds great!
Sweet. Randy .. kinks will come to a end...... Great job 👍
Randy &/Three Mike's Jacob did amazing build on Monte SS Gbody
Great video Randy. Rest easy and get well soon.
I loved my 79 Monte had to add a new camshaft and and lifters also added second exhaust cruised 95mph all day no problem
Wow, Randy, that sounds fantastic. It's a fantastic job . It's been a pleasure to watch this project. Thank you Randy best wishes to you , looking forward to seeing more soon 🚙🛻👍

man shes clean and mean sounding ! excellent job as always .
I would change the converter, that 2600 converter is more like 3000rpm converter. A 2200 or 2400 would make that car drive experience a lot better.
very nice Randy love how you put does exhausts they look sooo good
The monte Carlo is coming together Randy 😎😎👍👍
Love the new intro. Hope you're feeling better!
That monte Carlo is going to be bad ass. I love it!
Very cool. That was an uneventful maiden voyage. That doesn't happen very often 👍
It sounds wild Randy, love it. ☺️👍
You should have a heater control valve that is in-line with your heater inlet hose to the core. The pneumatic line that you showed us allows it to open and close sending hot water to the heater.
Thank you so much for sharing.
I love the build!! The fast/untellable shifts could be because its a built engine and transmission
Love the channel. Just FYI to others, look at the monster reviews. I got a trans from them and got screwed over. Hope this trans works for you!
Cool project, should be a very fun car to drive in the tour.
Bravo, Randy, kudos Randy! Great job! The whole crew needs to be here for the official launching!
That's so Freakin Cool. I never had a motor like that. Would like that experience just once!!❤
That engine sounds incredible. As far as the vacuum issue goes the vacuum ball should be connected to a full manifold vacuum it may be connected to a ported vacuum on the base of your carburetor. Take a look at the vacuum source.
Happy to see another Gbody on the road
I have always loved that style Monte Carlo sweet car sounds amazing😊
I like the advert/intro. Could you give it a second more? That way it gives it some presence.
It sounds great. Awesome project.
That’s a nice ride.
That's a nice Beretta in your profile pic. Love the old Berettas and Corsicas.
Awesome dude can’t wait for power tour!! Keep it up!!!
When and where is power tour

@@AutoFixNation where's the location
Nice it runs and drives it just needs more work then it will be a perfect car to take to power tour
Great video Randy ❤❤❤❤
Hi Randy take the vacuum line and put to the back of the intake. Carburetor don't have enough vacuum when at an idle
NICE RIDE!!
Sounds fantastic you should do rear end.😊
Randy that is awesome sounds great
Nice job Randy! 👏👏👏

Good Morning There My Good Little Bro Randy Lee Shear Of Auto Auction Rebuilds

Love it randy had one new in 86
Sounds good. I need to change my exhaust on my SS.
Wow, that idle sounds mean!
Now you need to send it to the auto spa. Show it some real love.

Awesome car Randy.
Sound all right? No it sounds GREAT👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
You're on ported vacuum at the front of the carb meaning its controlled by throttle I suggest splitting it at the port for the booster shouldn't have any issues after that
You got yourself a hotrod Randy!!!!!
She sounds awesome!!!
The heater core adds more cooling if you're running hot in traffic. Turn heat wide open.
This is one Chevy I would keep!!!
good video randy love how it sounds
Nice job . Don't forget the NOS bottle 🍼
You need to get a lockup converter. Then when you cruise it can lock up and bring down the rpm and create less heat.
She sounds so good.
Man randy great job the old girl sounds like a beast
You need a staggered wheel set up must have bigger wider tires in the back❤
Glad to see you’re OK
Hi.., Randy , are you feeling better ., ? I like the Monte Carlo that’s pretty nice
Like the OEM Monte Carlo rally wheels, just switch out the old tires.
Sounds great Randy - it's a keeper for awhile - my wife would go crazy and tell me to sell it for an SUV - no way! lolz
