I discovered how good they were from a ex who absolutely hated brake pads and rotors, and would try to destroy them ever time she drove her car..2000 Dodge Stratus R/T. Every 6 months she was going thru pads, rotors at least once a year. Bought PowerStops and got 2 1/2 years minimum. The performance pads and rotors are a must for all my vehicles since. As a career auto mechanic that's Master + L1-L3 certified, there's 3 people in the continental US I'd let touch my vehicles.. me, Eric O & Jesus himself.
I had the powerstops on my old truck and absolutely loved them. I think I might give their trackday pads a try.. Sucks they don't make a rotor for my car. Also, lookin' good post braces!
Love all your videos. Not sure where I picked it up, or if it's valid at all, but I've always put the slide pin with the rubber sleeve on the bottom. 🤷
love the video! I found that the slide pin with the rubber is 99% of the time on the side of the bracket that the force of the pads pushes against when the brakes are applied. So at the top in this case.
I had a 96 Caprice ex-Highway Patrol car for about 15 years. Bought at the state auction when it had 70,000 miles. Lostsa fun to drive and there was always something to fix.
No in this case I understand why you put the sticker on the the other rotor and put it on backwards. With the wobble of the bent wheel bearing the anti drag of the slotted rotors offset the centrifugal anomalies. Only a true pro would have noticed that.

So glad Mrs’s O is loving her Powerstop brakes!!! Been waiting to hear your thoughts! I am on my second set of Z36 extreme tow for 2014 F150 and Love them! Better braking and longer life.
I've been really happy with Powerstop's regular lines of brakes and rotors. Very good quality, and good price. Rock Auto has lots of them with $30 and $50 rebates right now. I'm set to do my neighbor's brakes with them on Wednesday.
I wish I had these when I didn’t have two nickels to rub together and had to do this myself. Made some mistakes but learned by doing. I love you tube university.
The car was made in Australia, so you should put the rotors on backwards! Everything spins in reversed down here. Also drop bears can hide in the wheel wells and hibernate for years, waiting to fall onto an innocent boy from NY. Australia fooled itself into thinking it had a local car company, but it was always GMH, General Motors Holden and Ford, with some locally designed cars.
I can attest to powerstop drilled and slotted rotors I put on my late wife's minivan that I have inherited. They work excellent and ease of installation!!!
Mr Eric O, I also have used Power Stop brake products. I had to go to Arizona and find a meteorite or two to forge rotors for when my wife drives. I always tell her the rotors are glowing red! By the way, the argument is not the direction of drilled holes or slotted, it’s the fact that you didn’t scrape the sticker off the rotor! Those very few thousandths will kick the tire cockeyed and cause premature tire wear. It just throws the whole chassis of kilter. Shame on you! Hahaha. Just kidding. Been a subscriber many years. Love me a brake video time to time. Thanks for letting us tag along!
Nice job! I was hoping you would punch it!! haha! I put a set of Power-Stop brakes on my 1999 Yukon a few years back. They worked great and lasted a long time.
Eric my father was a master wrench turner and he would hand tighten bolts. I would always look at him and he say get the wrench and check it. He was always within a pound or two of being correct. I’m sure you are just as good.
I like PowerStop. They’ve been on my pickup for years. I need to put them on my wife’s Pontiac G8 (another Holden product). Discontinued parts are a problem for the G8 as well
The rotors were installed correctly. The slots are oriented to allow the gasses that form between the rotor and brake pad to expell out the direction the rotor is turning.
That's interesting about the brake break in instructions. Way back in the day, I went to a Wagner seminar and that was the 1st time I'd ever heard a manufacturer give detailed instructions and recommendations on how to properly 'seat' their pads. Maybe I should try the brand you're talking about here, for my Challenger. I'm easy on brakes (and it's stick) but I can't seem to keep rotors from warping to save the car's life. The OE's lasted about 14k, the 1st premium aftermarket last 10k, and the next, just 7k. Yes, my 09 has just 31.8k on it, never seen snow/salt. Rarely in the rain. Thx for all you do!

Switched over a couple years ago to PowerStop on all my vehicles and I do not regret it! They should sponsor!
One of the best technicians I’ve ever watched in my life. Straight forward and always to the point.
I cannot believe you’re not “L1” certified on “paper”.
Hello
As a career auto mechanic that's Master + L1-L3 certified, there's 3 people in the continental US I'd let touch my vehicles.. me, Eric O & Jesus himself.
I had the powerstops on my old truck and absolutely loved them. I think I might give their trackday pads a try.. Sucks they don't make a rotor for my car.
Also, lookin' good post braces!
The neighbors learned that you were knocking his choice of drinks and decided to blast a tune to work you up. Lol
Ah yes, the good old Jeep hat black beard days....i just hope you as a person stay the same next ten years in good health!
Mr O you put the rotor on the right side....get it ! right side..... you did right !
Yes, my experience from taking them ioff the first time.
I had a 96 Caprice ex-Highway Patrol car for about 15 years. Bought at the state auction when it had 70,000 miles. Lostsa fun to drive and there was always something to fix.
Love a classic brake job! I, too, have had excellent service from Power Stop rotors.
(And the sound of air tools being used).
Thanks!
I love it - both Lawn Mower Man AND "hey it's that guy!" in the same vid!!!! I laugh my ass off every time you say that. So great.
I can't believe how dependent I became on the sound effect! It almost went right by before I noticed what you were doing!
Put power stop cross drilled rotors on my 2013 z71 back in 18 and they are still going strong. I'll definitely be sticking with them
No in this case I understand why you put the sticker on the the other rotor and put it on backwards. With the wobble of the bent wheel bearing the anti drag of the slotted rotors offset the centrifugal anomalies. Only a true pro would have noticed that.
But did you factor in the aerodynamic drag of the sticker itself?
That could be a sticky situation
Always adhere to specifications...
And yet ANOTHER fine Job E.O. 👌.
CHEVY THUNDER!!!
Love the sound of a SBC climbing up the rev range. I need to get something with an LS in it.
Hi Eric
I love watching your show. Enjoy your great sense of humor.
I think you are an aawsme tec .
Joe
Corona is the Old Milwaukee of Mexico. There's a few Mexican beers I'd drink before Corona. Look at the beautiful rocker panels on that old boy. Hasn't been in NY long. I'm gettin' pretty good at turning off the sound when the ads come on and turning it back on when back to the video. I hope the crap stops after the election. Brakes look like new. Another fine job by an every day athlete. Thanks Mr. O-
Maybe your keyboard has a mute button It's a little speaker with a line thru it
YT is loading them political ads right up so we'll pay $14.99/mo
@@dddevildogg Yeah I'm muting them, that's what I meant. I took UA-cam off my bookmarks so I can maybe wean myself off of it a little. Do I really need a lot of these videos. I don't think so. I'd sure miss SMA but it's just getting to be too much.
Warm day, doors open, all kinds of music, video of the brake job….where’s the lawnmower man? 😎
Thanks!
I can attest to powerstop drilled and slotted rotors I put on my late wife's minivan that I have inherited. They work excellent and ease of installation!!!
I've been waiting for the follow-up on Mrs. O's brake job. Good to hear the P.S. Brakes are holding up. I think they will be in my future!
You have forgotten more about working on cars than most will ever learn. I think you have things well in hand.
dosent matter how you get it done as long as you have all the fun. Ashcamp Auto in the house.
Glad to know I'm not alone in having a spouse that is a Brake Rotor Quality Control Inspector!
Nice job! I was hoping you would punch it!! haha! I put a set of Power-Stop brakes on my 1999 Yukon a few years back. They worked great and lasted a long time.
Thanks Eric, this will come in handy when I service the brakes on my 2014 Holden Calais V sport wagon!
We had a couple of days in the upper 70's last week. It sure was nice to have some cooler weather.
The power stop brakes are good. They are on my Lincoln Towncar. And they are very good. 👍👍
Eric my father was a master wrench turner and he would hand tighten bolts. I would always look at him and he say get the wrench and check it. He was always within a pound or two of being correct. I’m sure you are just as good.
Brings back memories. Way to go Mr O!
Nothing wrong with that install. I have power stop brakes and rotors to I love them. Best brakes I've had.
might be a simple brake job but it is always enjoyable to watch you do brakes. and no you didnt put the rotors on backwards lol. keep up the good work
I like PowerStop.
Make me smile, Eric. A brake job on a Bommadore! Something that looks familiar.
I enjoy watching because you make it fun to watch....Thank you Mr 'O'
