I saw her last show at Caesars Palace. My wife "took" me there. I always appreciated who she was but never listened to her music. Now, I wasn't prepared for what hit me. Growing up playing music and with friends who are studio musicians, I've been to many concerts over the years seeing many of the greats. Non made me cry. She is the shinning example of what music is and can do to a person's soul. That voice. The artistry. The talent. I was blown away. I left absolutely stunned.
I was there too and "hope" is probably the word that describes my experience the best. To see that so many people from literally all over the world would come together in one place, to enjoy live music together, was really, really moving. It really showed me that the power of music is still real ✨
Leave it to the Germans to put up a temporary 80,000 SEAT concert venue for 10 days...incredible. While I am much more of a hard rock/metal guy, Adele is a master performer and has a voice that is amazing and I really enjoy her music. She certainly brings emotion and feeling to these songs. I think she writes or at least co-writes most of her songs, so much respect to her on that.
Actually, the concept came from a guy from Austria (Klaus Leutgeb), it has just been set up in Germany because of infrastructure and more cooperative authorities (that guy did electronic festivals here in my hometown, but never again after the public response^^). Kudos to his achievement, but its certainly not the most sustainable thing in the world - even if they can remove/reuse the stage, they had to pave the area and 600.000 people had to travel extra-long to get to Munich instead of Adele touring to various cities/venues.
@@DoNuT_1985 I missed something when Mary was talking about Adele not wanting to tour, then describing this venue they built. Yeah, I'm pretty much done with any big show with big ticket prices. Last show I saw was a $20 house concert, right up close and personal. Stadiums and big amphitheaters are a hassle.

Don't think I"ll ever go to a big arena concert again in my life. Even if it's Beatles and Elvis together one more time. I went to some bar in NYC. outside of Manhattan. Slow Monday night. They had a lineup of local artists. Bar had empty seats. They were all 100% dedicated to their art and have been doing it for years. A few hand claps for them make all the difference for them.

Hi Mary, I left home at 15 & lived "live in concert" for 16 years & have amazing Stories, but this is Mary's show, You're German we both have similar facial features. As for Adele she is completely different from the rest ,she is her own person, & can make a serious impression on us .
Concerts. Please attend and enjoy concerts. As a touring sound engineer for many artists they are just like you the audience, they just happen to write songs people enjoy. They have similar hardships when touring and in my touring family they genuinely appreciate the love and vibe the audience bring. I love my job even if I’m thousands of miles from home and it’s the audience that make it worthwhile. Anyway, best get some sleep as there’s an 8 hour drive till the next stop somewhere in Denver. Okay the whole "You go to Adele (fill in band name here) makes perfect sense. Mary hit the nail on the head - the sound system is dialed in - purpose built / designed for the venue. You want to see and HEAR at a concert. Plus the difficultly of moving the crew, the equipment and the health of everyone involved - set up once - do your shows and tweak a bit as needed. Makes sense to me. Safe travels and may you have wonderfully supportive sold out crowds on your tour.
I can't imagine you ever putting out a video that would disparage anyone. So I chuckled when I read the click-baity title of this video, knowing that I'd see a celebration of another of your peers, be they world famous or only worthy of such fame. Loving your work! Thank you.

I cannot even imagine. I went to a small town fireworks show a few years ago and ran out as fast as I could with the screaming memees. A crowd that large would cause a panic attack that would be fatal. It was even hard to see this video without tensing up. Glad you enjoyed it though.
Mother Country?? I didn't know.. my NOW adopted country.. do you speak German? Glad you had such a wonderful time.. inspired.. emotional connection.. I've been very moved too and was surprised at myself.. I get it and I hope you "GET IT" from your audience
Great idea, residency, I remember Kate Bush and her recent concerts. People had to go there to experience the moment, just like Disneyland. Great influx of $$$ to the surrounding businesses and the artists can be at their best instead of suffering from travel and jet lag. Classy.
Its a little known thing that the saying "you had me at hello" came about directly after her release of her hit song "hello" and i saw a few minutes of that song, again, at one her latest residencies and my jaw dropped, like every time. Magic.
Ps I'm with distrokid as well but I hadn't heard of "the vault" I'll just say it's a good idea thanks for sharing that. Also just wondering, if Adele sees this she may switch, 100% of the profits 🤔
Great video. At first I was afraid you were going to say that you don't like Adele and I may need to turn off my subscription. LOL! BTW, received my vinyl the other day here in the States and simply love it. It goes very well next to my CD version as well.
Hopefully one day you will have your own permanent gig place! Hopefully in Brighton with a group of really cool bands & solo artists. I am sure I would be a regular. Oh & love yr Moving to LA song too.
Glad you had such a great time! I've seen Pink Floyd a few times in stadiums and yes, the shows were very overwhelming but so are their indoor shows. It's just how they are and I love leaving with the feeling that my brain was melted from all the input and stimulation. I saw Fleetwood Mac in the 70s at a stadium with over 100K people (I think). Yeah, there's a line for everything.
The concert was incredible. But Munich was not the place. People in Munich are very cold, and hospitality was horrendous at many places we went to, and we are Canadian. We were polite, and tried to speak any German we could. Will not be returning to Germany.
I’m showing my age by fessing up to some of the live performances I’ve been to. Most of them have been big stadium filling acts like Genesis, Queen, OMD, George Michael, Elton John & the Pet Shop Boys (my musical taste is diverse). The best performance though, by far, was China Crisis in a pub in Derby. I know, who’s China Crisis? I grew up in the 80’s nuff said!
I didn't realise you were Germanic - wow. I get what you mean about some concerts are more like 'Vegas acts', although some are more Poundland than others. Adele is also known for her down-to-earth, ungaurded persona, making her more human & relatable. Having a concert that focusses on the artist connecting directly with their audience is an increasing rarity.
Hello Mary, I really enjoyed your video on Adele. I'd like to know if you've made a video about when your favorite artist makes an album you don't like. Does not buying every album from your favorite artist make you less of a fan. The reason I'm asking is because I like Adele, but besides her first single from her last album "30", I didn't enjoy any of the other tracks. I just felt she went to personal with this album, which didn't appeal to me, but I haven't given up on her just yet. I'm hoping her next album will be one that I love. Thank you for your video. Best of luck on your tour.
Hi MoE,😎🖤 Lucky you going to an Adele concert. I’m sure she was great she always is. Good luck on your Tour Mary I hope you have a Blast! I would come See you if I have the chance,Love you!⭐️💋💋💋💋🐺🌻🕊🦋🕊☮️🖤🌅🎉🇺🇸🎉🇬🇧LW🐺

I cried already, listening to your opinion. Imagine what I would on site.
Nick Mason's Saucerful of Secrets is well worth going to see, as well! Just as amazing as Pink Floyd, live, IMO, but the opposite end of the scale.
@@frankshailes3205 Yes, have seen them twice. Great shows!
it wasn’t the first time this arena was built! last year i think helene fischer performed there and i think there were even more people in the arena!!
I love the song of yours played in the background.. well done.
I love our video. I like you live here in Germany. I wish we had gotten wind of this much earlier.
As always, an enlightening and enjoyable video. Some interesting thoughts there, Mary.
I haven't listened to much Adele, but the more I hear about her, the more I like the person.
Mary, Thank you!
Thank you Mary ✌️and ❤
I´m from Munich and I will be there on Friday 🫶🏼
Thank you for sharing your heart.
Looks like it was a great show. I’m glad you got to enjoy it “In the Flesh”.
Mary - you have the same underlying vibe that Adele has tapped. Keep it up!

Adele is so common... one of her endearing qualities. 👍👍
Let me know when you come to Munich to perform and I’ll be there 🎉Liebe Grüße aus München, Chris.
I wish I could fly to the UK to see you in concert, but unfortunately I can't right now... So i did buy your last album, the CD and the tape or cassette if you prefer. That's not much, but I hope it helps a little. Cheers Mary ! 😃👍
