  • Peugeot's 2024 3008 GT Sport does a damn fine job of standing out from the crowd, thanks in part to its peppy 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine that delivers 133kW of power and 250Nm of torque. It makes the trip to 100km/h in 8.8 seconds.
In a market flooded for choice in the mid-sized front-wheel drive space, those are not bad numbers. Pair that with an 8-speed automatic transmission, and three driving modes (Eco, Normal and Sport), and it's a pretty impressive bit of kit.
We actually found Normal mode to be the most comfortable and practical of the trio, ensuring good fuel economy (5.6-litres/100km) while still having enough get up and go. The suspension is nicely tuned, and feels a little sporty when cornering.

That big compartment between the front seats is actually a cool space.you can put ac directly into the compartment.

What an excellent review. Practical, detailed and balanced. Could I raise a couple of issues. I wonder if this is actually a 2024 compliance plate. I thought the 2024 model had the touchscreen and instrument panel integrated (one line). Maybe that's only for the EV model.?? And the gearshift is far superior to the one in the EV model.
I take a size 12 shoe and am almost 6ft tall. I have got used to the pedal setting but I understand what you said. Just on the stop/start feature - hate it so I just turn it off when I start the car. (My wife leaves it on).
Just a practical issue re purchasing a 3008. They are expensive so look for ex demos. You can usually pick them up for a substantial saving on new price. Late last year I specifically looked for a 2022 2.0L diesel as I knew the diesels were being discontinued in Australia. I picked up a GT HDi model with 10,800kms for $AUD42,000 a saving of close to $20,000. The 2.0L diesel engine is, by far, the best engine Peugeot have put into the 308 &3008. It is absolutely bombproof and will just go forever. We moved up from a 308 HDi (2.0L diesel) to the 3008 mostly because we are getting older and bending down to get into the 308 might be a problem in a couple of years (hated getting rid of it - 165,000kms trouble free motoring from a driver who drives hard and fast.)
After a couple of months driving both my wife (who is only 5ft 2") and myself are really pleased with the car. Haven't learned to use all the features yet but that will happen over time. Our car only has the 18" wheels. I asked the salesman why?? He said it provides a better ride than the 19" wheels especially over rougher surfaces. So I drove both. He was correct, so I'm now glad it has the 18" wheels. The other thing of note is that the AdBlue truck nozzle fits the nozzle on the Peugeot so you can use pumped AdBlue at the truck section of service stations. (big saving on containerised AdBlue).
I drive pretty hard . I found the cornering and stability surprisingly good - much better than I expected. Thanks again for a good Australian review as some of the European Peugeots have some differences to those imported into Australia.

This is the first Exhaust Notes video I have watched. I agree with Allan (below) - detailed, practical and balanced. Many auto reviews today seem contrived, scripted and manufacturer biased. This the first review I have watched in some time where I watched the entire video without skipping ahead. Full disclosure - I have owned a 5008 GT, currently own a 508 GT Fastback and have just ordered a 3008 GT Sport for my wife - so I guess I am not only a Francophile but biased to boot. Incidentally, since that first 5008 GT purchase in 2017 we have not (touch wood) experienced any mechanical or service issues with PSA. I know that this is question for many potential Peugeot owners given the years of patchy service prior to the new crop of Peugeots in 2017. Thank you for reading.

I bought a 2012 308 (2.0L diesel). No problems - however one thing I will say is that you need to have experienced mechanics, preferably European or Peugeot specialists. They are worth their weight in gold.

Great review Dylan! Would you be reviewing the 2024 2008 GT Facelift? Seems theres reviews for E-2008 in Australia, but I can't find reviews for petrol.... I came across this great review because I was researching the 3008. However turns out that it may be a just a bit big for my garage parking spot.

If you're going to review a car at least pronounce the name of the maker correctly. Other than that, not too shabby.

I think this comment comes up on every Peugeot review. The correct pronunciation is Purr-zho. (as far as I understand) however it is common practice to also pronounce it Pu - jo (the way this reviewer has pronounced it.) When I first purchased my 404 in 1969 you heard both pronunciations - maybe different languages also come into it - eg how do they pronounce it in France or Germany??
This is a pretty good review. If you want to look at some really ordinary reviews of Peugeots try some (not all) of the English reviews - They tend to follow a formula and spend more time talking about the logo and looks than how the car actually performs.

I bought a Peugeot 3008GT in 2022 and one of the first things I noticed was how good the focal sound system was compared to other cars I have driven.
The clarity and power of the standard system is quite unbelievable tbh, especially when you pump it..
I enjoyed your review and found everything you pointed out was spot on.
Overall I find it a great car and recommend to anyone that will listen.
