    awsome video and nice build. I have a question. Do you need ever unplug the batteries? I have heard it is bad for the esc to keep them connected all time.
    Another question, could you please provide a wiring diagram for the esc? Because I don't know how you bypass the discharge feature. And what power supply did you use?

    • @Gyro1
      @Gyro1  7 років тому +2

      No. I leave the ESC permanently connected as I'd have to take the cover out to unplug it. Hasn't been a problem for the few months I'm using it. For the wiring ESC is connected directly to the terminals of the battery. Negative terminal of the battery is also connected to B- on BMS. The positive lead of the battery is connected directly to positive pin on power jack and negative pin of the power goes to the C- / CH- of BMS. That's it. P- pin on BMS is not used. The power supply is 25.2V 2A since I have 6 cell battery. You can actaully see that at 7:35 .

      ok, then maybe I will look at that option for mine, with that same bms, as it seems to work for you. How long does it take to charge? I don't remember right now your capacity and range, I'll have to lwatch the video again :P
      Thanks a lot

      np :) I have no idea how long it charges for as I always leave it charging overnight but you can always get adapter with higher amperage for faster charging.

    which kind of code do you have for both of your arduino's? and how did you connect the bms with your battery? it is a very awesome result totally one of the best!!

    • @Gyro1
      @Gyro1  7 років тому

      Thank you :) .Since I'm not the best at programming I just took the example code for the transceivers and modified that so it's the value of the joystick. I have actually explained the BMS wiring in previous. I'm sure you can find it there aren't many.

    So far the best DIY board I've seen out there. Not because of speed or whatever, just the work you put into it is very cool. Love the smaller form factor.

    Nice job. Does your esc give you dynamic braking (recharging the battery) and does it slow you enough when going down a steep hill ?

    • @Gyro1
      @Gyro1  7 років тому

      it doesn't recharge battery but it breaks great. I have been going down some hills without problem. it make a loud whistling sound when not braking fully but it works.

    Hi man! Great video and great board ! I am bulting one too! I have a few question if you don't mind! What charging port do you use ? And its looks like you have a 6S bms, did you take a 24v power supply ?
    Thanks a lot!

    • @Gyro1
      @Gyro1  6 років тому

      Thanks. The power supply is 25.4V and the connector is standard DC jack. I believe it's 5.5x2.1mm

    • @tomjotrau2160
      @tomjotrau2160 6 років тому

      Thanks for your response,
      Do you thinks that a 6S bms (2 x 3s in series) can be charge with 24v ?
      Thanks a lot!

    • @Gyro1
      @Gyro1  6 років тому

      not sure. The BMS I'm using specified 25.4V so that's what I'm using.

      Thanks a lot for you response man, i appreciate.
      If i can bother you a bit more, Do you have a diagram of your BMS circuit ?
      I haved built my one electric longboard but i can't charge it... Where did you buy your stuff (charger, charging port and BMS)? I don't understand what i'm doing wrong...
      Your help could saved my project...
      Thanks a lot

    • @Gyro1
      @Gyro1  6 років тому

      Sure. The BMS was from hobbyking hobbyking.com/en_us/6s-li-ion-10a-pcm.html and the power adapter was from China. Alliexpess I think. The charging port I got from a local electronics store. The BMS was connected like a regular BMS. You can just google that. The only difference was that I didn't connect my ESC to the discharge pin but directly to the battery instead. This forum post shows exactly how I have it connected www.electric-skateboard.builders/t/help-with-6s2p-with-bms-wiring-only-for-charging/15761I know in the post he is asking if the connection is correct and I can confirm that it works for me.

      Well since it Arduino nano I connected the buttons simply to digital pins the potentiometer of joystick to analog pin. The oled screen works with IC2 so I connected that to IC2 bus and for the wireless receiver I just followed this tutorial: howtomechatronics.com/tutorials/arduino/arduino-wireless-communication-nrf24l01-tutorial/
